This week we body work the front guards and paint them the Blue Meanie Formula blue , then strip and modify the front bumper for the HDT front spoiler ! Prime the bumper and grille after the repairs . we also trail fitted the bonnet and gapped the guards for final fitment !!

Hey guy this week we take the VK group A replica to the sandblasters, I welded in the radiator support fixed the rust under the battery tray and after that we prepared the engine bay for epoxy primer and topcoat color also paint the under the fenders with some stone guard. Also the transmission tunnel

Just a quick update on  fire, damaged VK Group A replica ! Engine bay all in primer ! painted scuttle in formula blue under front guards stone chipped as is the transmission tunnel !! , battery tray welded in new video coming out next week! Stay tuned !!

VR COMMODORE UTE IN THE USA - in this video we removed the front bumper fitted a transmission cooler to our new rebuilt 4l60E remove the tail shaft / drive shaft replaced the center bearing and re installed it took it for a proper test drive I also fitted a new alloy radiator but it not in the video so guys please like subscribe I would appreciate it!

This week we replaced the stem seals - replaced the leaky valve cover gaskets - fixed the exhaust leak ( for now) removed the tail shaft ( and center bearing ) replaced the Air filter with one off a 2009 Nissan maxima and replaced the spark plug wires plus more so guys please like subscribe I would appreciate it !

No it was in for some repairs to the side glass and reinstall the rear glass screen

Good fix on the Old 57 at least that's all it was darn plug wire lol Man lucky that hose didn't come of that fuel filter when you were out driving that could have been really bad. Good thing you checked it. The 57 sure is looking sweet I love that car. Some people probably have never seen a right hand drive one before. Great show a lot of killer rides there. I took the old 55 to the last show just about time to put her away for the winter to. Always a sad day but spring will come again 😁. Good seeing your old Gasser too take it easy brother take care 👍🏻

Have you done a video of the rear window on a 57 Bel Air hardtop or even a four-door hardtop
If you are referring to installing a rear window? Yes I have but I didn’t video the install but it’s very similar to a sedan make sure it’s centered and rope it in using windexs as a lubricant and as you pull it from the inside have someone with out rings on their fingers tap it on the outside

'That wasn't even hard' this is good to know hahaha. I'll leave the frame mods to a professional I think! With the rear cylinder head height did you just notch the backbone or cut and raise the 3 down tubes? Also was there a reason you used the twin cam primary?

Hey mate, thanks for coming. Cool video and I’d agree on the part about not as many “true” Australian cars. We would love to have some actual RHD stuff, but you have to remember this event is built around the holdens we got in America, which is majority G8, GTO, caprice, SS etc. So, you have to expect there not being many RHD Aussie cars over the US specs.
@@rrpgarage yeap I took that into consideration I’m an admin for Aussie cars overseas and although there is a ton of early chrome bumper Holden and fords here in the USA and Canada they are spread apart from each other but man wouldn’t that be a great show to organize!!
Got a glimpse of the trunk I'm hoping my trunk looks that nice just a clean original look with original paint. A scuff pad is your best friend in those areas with a lot of contour going on.

@@Trifiveguy yep I subscribed too! You fellas do great work. I am doing a 57 SC Bel Air and the stainless trim has been quite the puzzle. Being in my 70’s, my memory isn’t the greatest and I will need to go back and re-watch the videos to see which order all this stuff goes on. I will also be curious to see which manufacturers you use for all your window & door gaskets and seals.. I hear that some are too thick and you can’t close the doors or trunk lid without slamming…

As an Aussie ya love to see our cars being appreciated. It's sad at the same time between Holden and ford Australia with how popular the Barra engine is now you'd think there likely was an untapped market in the states for our cars that sounds wasn't explored or pushed correctly advertising wise. Even still good to see Aussie cars there being appreciated

How are all the Ute's at that car show imported legally to the US .... I thought they are not eligible yet for import.
Apparently there’s some loophole that everyone’s seams to be using to bring them over
I also heard in some states you can rebody a car legally, guys use Pontiac G8's (which are actually Commodores) and some make them LHD using the G8 parts.
you can bring them in if you don't have the drivetrain in them as the Aussie LS engine isn't emissions compliant in the US
@@driftrich yes that correct as a parts car I was going to before I bought my VR over but these guys bring them in running and and driving. I would be worried customs would confiscate it it’s a matter of time till it happens
I am doing the same steering column no directions at all, your video is great! one thing did you take off the end of the Ididit steering column to get the swivel plate on. looks that way to me, the 909011 seems not to slide on the bottom, column plate too big at bottom
I can’t remember removing anything gfrom the column I remember the swivel plate just sliding on from the bottom it was a whole ago now !

This is just an incredible build. I've got corrosion on the bottom of my crew cab Super Duty, but after tapping it with a ballpeen hammer nothing is soft and hardly anything came off. Would you recommend sandblasting the bottom and repainting it...?
Yes blast the bottom of the rocker to expose any outer holes but rust in these always start from the inside side out so you might only see small holes but the inside would be rusty. Cheers

Doing my first set of rockers on my 04 F-350 with the same cab next week. This video for sure helped with some of the nerves I’ve got about doing it. Although, i do have to replace a bit of the front section close to the fender as well as the floor support and ends. This video gave me the most detail and better idea of the job

Hey Mike as in The video the car was supplied with the wheel tubs though they where in there crooked and uneven I removed them clean them up positioned them correctly and welded them in but they are these exact ones listed here i supplied a part number Summit Racing™ Rear Fenderwells SUM-G7910 Thanks for watching !
