It's great to have you back! Thank you for this very good first new season video with good spirits, fun facts and interesting details. Congrats for the production values (bed sequence, music, happy ending - its all there)
Welcome back aboard! Glad AWEN had great care while she was on the hard and is now ready for lots of fun! Did you happen to meet the owners of the NEEL 43 that was next to you?
We love seeing you back on AWEN! Glad you didn’t have to spend too many nights in the office building with cold showers.😝 Looking forward to a fun filled season! 💚🤙🏼
Hi guys, very glad to see you sailing again. I am curious how dis you fix the ac unit on the door? How did it get the electricity from outside with all door closed and how dis it discharge outside? We are looking for a feasible solution for our catamaran. Thank you very much, your experience will be very useful. We love you channel and the videos are inspiring. All the best, Elli
This was a fixed solution where he built a wall out of some kind of waterproof board with the slider on one side open. On the board he fixed a little ledge that mounted the unit that discharged outside in the cockpit. Then the door could lock in place against the new ‘wall’. So it was secure. Hope this helps.
@SailingAWEN thank you very much for your very useful answer! It is amazing that you can answer so quickly and in detail, considering how busy you are. We appreciate it a lot! Enjoy the season!
I’m very pleased that things are going well for you. Thanks for sharing the experience. I hope you have a great cruising season. I can’t see your boat without thinking it’s got to be the near ideal vessel. Beautiful, comfortable and fast. Bon voyages.
We've just left our Seawind 1370 in Thailand after a month of cruising the island on the east side of the Gulf of Thailand. Heading back to Northern California for the holidays, and to spend some time at our Tahoe cabin. Thanks for sharing your adventures. We hope to get to the Caribbean in late 2025 or 2026. Was the AC unit another service provided by that marina?
Welcome back, I'm very happy to see you again sailing! Actually, by coincidence, I'm considering to buy the same rope cutter you installed. The 695 version of the Shaft Shark (since I have Flexofold too). AB marine advised size 93 mm. Is it the same you purchased? It would great for me to know, thank you. By the way, next winter we plan to cross the Atlantic from Europe with our Itacatamaran. We would be so happy and lucky to cross path with you guys. You are an inspiring example. Best,Daniele from Italy
Thank you Daniele! Yes, the same but the diameter must have been slightly less than 93mm as I couldn't get a good clamp. The two halves were touching each other after assembly and you want a 0.5 mm gap. In the end I had to get 0.8 mm removed from each half to get a satisfactory clamp. Try to get an actual measurement of the diameter before ordering the Shaft Shark. Next winter we might be cruising west of the Caribbean, maybe San Blas, and cross the Pacific but plans change all the time. Hope to share an anchorage one day!
@@SailingAWEN Thank you very much Sthépane for your quick and kind answer, very helpful, we will certainly do as you suggest. I also saw that you have chosen not to apply anything on the blades and I wish to comfort you by saying that we did this for the last 3 years without major issues; since you move often as we do (almost everyday) this was ok for us: very limited and not disturbing growth. We do not charter any more and my wife and myself just enjoy sailing, therefore we have free schedule (a part my investment banking job in smart working mode...😪). We also plan to sail to the Pacific in maybe two years, therefore we might also hopefully cross paths there one day, who nows. Be very careful in the Panama area, as pirate /crime statistics so suggest; while it appears that the San Blas are calm again after an accident in 2019; but I'm sure that you are already informed about this, as you do with all the rest. Thanks again and best regards, Daniele
Would you have the 'complete' recipe for avoiding mold (and the musty smell) in your boat? And it should be 'published'! I heard that the A/C was kept on (and a tarp all over the boat). Was that enough, all by itself? Any additional stuff: dehumidifier, ventillation/fans, odour absorbers, fumigation...? I had a boat in Canada mothballed over the cold and dry winter months and it still had a musty smell in the spring.
Glad to see 👀 ya'll back. It's ben so long i forgot ya'lls channel was still alive. So looking forward for more videos. Ok stay safe and until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! Where it is summer year round.
Hi guys wonderful to have you back again good to see is back on the catamaran , keep up the good work always enjoy your videos , Cliff from Logan City , Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 i’m on the big island 🏝️
Great video- thanks! Does the contractor/yard rent or lend you the AC unit and the plastic poles/tarp for the tent or do you now own them and need to deal with storing or getting rid of them?
I was wondering if this community could get a Discord server or something similar to build community. Open minded to other apps too. Nice to see you back. Looks like the Tahoe basin got slammed with snow this past week after you left.
Great to see you back, I have been watching all your episodes! One request though, please turn off this beauty/smoothing filters, it makes your faces look so artificial. Have a great season! Chris

Yes we did! Nice family.

Never been so jealous of a TENT! Awesome
She was nice tucked away under the tarp. Now ready for new adventures!

Yes, Peake’s has a guy who installs it. Technically he's an independent business from Peakes, his name is Richard.
Enjoy snowy Tahoe!
Welcome back. Really missed you guys (and Awen) ❤🎉
Yay lets go explore and enjoy Awen

Thank you!

I had a boat in Canada mothballed over the cold and dry winter months and it still had a musty smell in the spring.
I wiped all surfaces with vinegar before we left. And we also left the small fans on in the hulls. The AC was the magic we think.
So glad to see you back. Love your channel ⛵⛵⛵
Thanks so much!

Aloha! We love the Hawaiian Islands. We used to go there often when we were still living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
