Yep, controlling the healing is something that has to be learned by titan users. Normally they automatically heal, but they can learn to delay it. There's actually a short scene is season 1 where Eren has steam coming out of his head injury because it's healing automatically. It was during the training camp after he fell and hit his head, later on after he's bandaged up you can see steam coming from his head. It's very faint, but definitely noticeable if you're looking for it. That was only episode 3, so we didn't even know about titan users at that point.
About Eren leg, remember Reiner and Berth reveal episode ? Reiner arm is wounded, and after he decided he want to do 'it', he shows his hand being healed. So yeah, like that.
Started watching Season 4 with these girls because I was too stubborn to watch it in the past initially due to minor animation and style change. And I was such a diehard S1-S3 fan. I’m currently enjoying every detail of S4 and the storytelling.
