There’s absolutely no way you can drive as close to the wheel as Becky does. Ha
She would get it though
Came here to say the same thing 😄
All females do it
Tim (Key) later found fame as a comedian so I'm guessing he doesn't actually drive like that and is just taking the p1ss.
He sold the car a week later.
Wikipedia says that he sold the car a week later 😂
He had a sweet Felicia, why replace that with a crappy Ka.
Tim is so devious. Even the show discussed how unbelievable it is for a young man to be driving that slow. It’s pretty much confirmed he did the show just to win a car but I bet he was kicking himself when he didn’t get to pick.
He's now a famous comedian in the UK. This is definitely all a skit for him
I think Sharon avoiding the wall was more impressive imo. Last second reaction while keeping the car balanced and under control…ish
Not really, just blind panic.
The muppet who takes his hands off the wheel should be banned for life. And the mother also needs banning from the girl's car, she is a menace! Same as the annoying husband.
That spinning shot at 0:54 goes hard
it made me dizzy
Ahead of it's time in 2002/3.
Production quality was insane for this.
its not bad to say this was filmed in the early 2000s this was ahead of its time
@@minibeast4020 Except the shots in the studio are disorienting and way too zoomed in on peoples faces.
Sharon did pass a swerve and avoid lol
Next week, Jeremy, James and Richard hit the skid pan!
Craig still doesn't understand why he's a shit driver.
In Becky’s defence, driving towards a brick wall at speed isn’t exactly something a sane person would do.
It's a Saab 900. It can drive through walls safely. 🤣
who taught Becky to sit so close to the steering wheel?! I see drivers like this all the time and worry just because how close they are too the steering wheel.
Tim was the safest but still dangerous
Slow and steady wins the race. I've heard from others he is an actor and become a well known comedian. It is funny how much speed is prioritized over safety on UK's roads despite much narrower lanes and car density than the USA.
He was the fakest too, just on it for a laugh. He even sold his winning car a week later.
@@cornishalps9870 i think going slow on narrow roads isnt really a big problem, but going slow on highway or other higher speed zones where you could go the limit safely is a problem.
Sharon did a great swerve and avoid, atleast she didn't hit the wall. Would have been good if that was the task though.
If the light didn't come on. I wouldn't stop either.
A bit daft when your told to wait for it
wut?! your instinct would not be to stop?
@@doghous3 not if I'm told to wait for the light no. Because Id assume they are leaving it until the very last split second
@@JV57JAY I get what you're saying. They should have had a real wall instead of a fake one, then if the light doesn't come on you're forced to make the decision yourself or hit the wall.
Yeah. Given the instruction the wait for the light, I would assume it's a test of how good or bad things get once the light goes on, even it that's very late. Don't compare this situation to real life. In real life, you always brake for a wall, regardless of any other signal. Setting up an obvious experimental situation and then criticizing people for handling it as an experimental situation is disappointing.
So you’d follow the rest of the cars over the cliff because they didn’t brake?
Quentin FAILED that braking challenge AGAIN. You are NOT supposed to brake to the point of locking up. That extends the braking distance much more. No reason why they were using cars without ABS even in 2002 when this was filmed either.
I learnt how to drive in a car without ABS, and my first car also didn't have ABS. It's to ensure that you know how to do an emergency stop without locking up the wheels
You know it's got you hooked when you come back for the third episode is this channel the original tv series developers or nah? I actually can't believe there are drivers this bad its like its supernatural or something
4:45 NO NO NO NO! He FAILS. Because he did NOT overcome his predeliction to constantly play it too safe and actually be more dangerous as a result.
That poor GTI.
Tim Kay did sell that car next week from what I heard
I would aswell
@@denniz1990how would you sell his car? Or do you mean, if you bought it off him?
2:15 NO NO NO. That video is BOLLOX. The car lost control because the back DRUM BRAKES locked up. No ABS and the car is rubbish. You could not control that regardless.
Bit unfair they don't even let Tim pick the car at the end.
Probably the only candidate who won a car less good than the one he already owned…? (Skoda Felicia)
He's a tragic driver and was definitely a huge risk on the roads. People that drive that much under speed limit are a hazard to others.
@@mozubzy4103 Yes, they frustrate people and cause a lot of overtaking which would be unnecessary if he travelled at a reasonable speed. Also, I believe it's possible to fail a driving test for driving too slowly, "failing to make good progress" I think they call that.
@@mozubzy4103 He's a perfectly fine driver. He's a professional comedian that was taking the mickey / in it to win a car / in it for self publicity.
The emergency stop test is flawed. A wall of cardboard does not present a clear enough danger to the driver and therefore they will not take the test as seriously as they know they are not in any real danger. A simple solution would be a rule that if they hit the wall, they pay a fine.
What I don't get is when some people are really bad at driving, they still think that the passenger-seat advisor is 'interfering with their driving'. I am a new driver myself though I don't appreciated being shouted at whenever I do something wrong, I would like somebody more experienced to tell me what I should or shouldn't do if I am not sure.
Joseph from an earlier episode wasn't bad at all even though he needed some improvements but like Becky and Sharon clearly didn't have much spatial awareness or sense of safety when they were behind the wheel so having somebody tell them when they should stop before it's too late should be considered good. With time, they would develop the knowledge needed for a safe driver but considering this show was aired almost 20 years ago, they probably drive quite well now.
Because family don’t always make for the best teachers or instructors. They definitely need someone to help them drive from the passenger seat but that certainly doesn’t mean that the person sat is actually helping them.
Keep at it eventually it all comes naturally the more you do it the easier it becomes take your time and always panic slowly gl
Episode 4 please!! I'm hooked. 😊 If you like I'll even switch off my ad blocker just to watch the rest of this
Hurts so much seeing some of these mint cars get dented like that. They were nothing then but my dreams now 😔
Oh hey, it's Tim Key! Sidekick Simon himself!
Can you please upload the whole season all together?
Quentin doesn't understand Tim. Tim is dangerous because he is feeble behind the wheel. They made a HORRID MISTAKE.
Have you got all the series of Britain's worst driver including the celebrity editions this is brilliant
Tim must be one of the few contestants to win a new car that was arguably a downgrade on the one he already had 😆 The Ka did suit him though!
Are Ka's good cars for professional comedians?
@@lint8391 I would say so. I mean if you're a man and you want people to laugh and not take you seriously, it fits the bill pretty well.
The Saab 900❤
Best car in the show, including the prize cars.
@@lint8391 true I have a mg TF cracking little car
11:20 FLUID not FLUENT.FLUENT is the ability to speak a language intelligibly. Apparently Quentin is NOT FLUENT in English.
Its crazy my triumph 765 RS 2024 will try throw you over the handle bars when you do emergancy stops, ABS/TCS etc, These cars defo dont have any tech in them! Its crazy how much tech changes how cars and bike perform now and how much people rely on new tech features
11:56 I feel that, Arif. My summer car doesn't have power steering and tight maneuvering with "steering by Arm-strong" can be absolutely draining
Becky & arif are my favs 😂
Supplied all the cars , made all the props and did all running repairs 🙈
I know this was 20 years ago, but Christ we share the roads with these people.
Not The MK2 GTI and the Saab 900🤕🤕🤕
Tim nice but dim!
Water replacement egg for Canada (and other spin-offs) it seems
This was the first ever TV series of the 'Worst Drivers' franchise and aired in 2002, CWD started airing in 2005. :)
@@NariNW You understood that nonsensical comment?
@@krashdMaybe the OP isn't a native English speaker. It's not very comprehensive I agree, but practice makes perfect. You'll never get good at something, if you weren't bad at it at some point.
Tim needs 2 training courses. A skid control course to teach vehicle dynamics and a performance driving course to get comfortable with speed. Given that I think he could become an excellent driver. As it is, his lack of speed makes him a danger. He should be getting tickets for obstructing traffic. Speed may kill, but speed differential causes crashes.
Tim Key is a professional comedian. Good on him for taking the mickey out of this show, getting himself a free car that he sold a week later, and getting himself some free publicity.
having no power steering was a way for people to build muscle
who ever inprove the most get a new car, 10min later crash the new car
Rather the Skoda Felcia over a Ford Ka lol what a down grade lol 😂
I think that light test IS out of order.
It is a flawed test. Why do you think it ‘is out of order?’
there should bring that show back with a morden car with all the driver assis safert like ACC LKAS ect disenable
I would rather have the Lada Riva to any of the other cars...! I know the Ford Ka and the Suzuki would be too small for me and I believe the MG would also be too restrictive for me. The Lada however would be better for interior dimensions and being as I am 6'6" (195cm); you can see why...! I also prefer the classic styling...!!! 😉👍
i mean, at the time the show aired, it was like comparing a 2020s Cadillac CT4 to a early 2000s Hyundai Sonata. Ofcourse a person that isn't heavily invested in cars would pick the modern Cadillac, as it's more luxurious and has more prestige, at the expense of cheap running costs (which the Hyundai excels at).
More than half of the people shouldn't be allowed on the road
Tim is an OLD WOMAN. I guarantee he has a boyfriend.
can't lie. I think Tim was the most dangerous as he didn't go quick enough which is more of a risk itself than going quicker and speeding like Arif and the bloke from Tamworth
How? Literally logically speaking the slower you go the slower you crash. Any person who gets mad from impatience and causes the crash are the real danger.
Tim is a danger as travelling at such low speeds on faster moving roads can cause less observant drivers to potentially crash into him. Now that in itself would not be his fault, but evidently he doesn't have any idea of the risk or possible consequences of his slow driving. Probably should just get the bus. Travelling too slowly can actually get you charged with careless driving.
@@cornishalps9870 If most other traffic is doing 60-70 mph then doing something as low as 26 mph *increases* the *difference* in speed dramatically, and the difference in speed, specifically change in speed, particularly rapid changes, is what kills people. If someone driving at 70 mph drives into the back of someone doing 65 mph, providing the front driver is holding onto the wheel properly, etc, to not lose control and crash into something stationary, they won't even have enough of an impact to claim for whiplash (legal minimum is 6 mph). But if someone driving at 40 mph drives into the back of someone doing 20 mph, suddenly you have a much higher risk of injuries. There are, although rarely used, minimum speed limit signs in the highway code for this reason, (blue sign with a white ring and text if you were wondering). One that's used is 30 mph, so Tim doing 26 mph on an A road that could have them if it went through a tunnel or something is dangerous enough to be defined as illegal, and this in in the UK where they go overboard with speed enforcement and lowering maximum speed limits every time a distracted driver kills someone, so it is a serious issue.
That is a grossly incorrect assessment. As long as Tim doesn’t join a national speed limit dual carriageway or motorway, Arif is clearly a much more dangerous driver who does not take risk seriously.
Tim is the best
