Quite possibly the most iconic British sitcom ever, alongside Blackadder.

Must shout out my Dad who passed away last year, he loved OFAH & watched it frequently on Gold. His favourite was Miami Twice. My sister recently took my mum to London to see the show, both said it was awesome 👌

I love only fools and horses I got into it in 2020 when i bought my dad the complete set for his birthday also there was a spin off done in like 2002 - 2007 called green green grass where Marline boice and tiler move to a farm in Hertfordshire to get away from the Driscoll brothers highly recommend

I grew up with this show, which I now can call my biggest comfort show. How a show can put a smile on your face when you are in the worst of moods I do not know but this show is just hands down the best comedy the UK has ever seen.
The most relatable characters making jokes that you can watch and will have heard time and time again, yet you will still laugh the exact same way as you did the first time. Which is exactly why no comedy will ever come close to Only Fools.

An under rated special is ‘A Royal Flush’ some of the jokes in that 😂😂
    ‘Ready when you are John.’
    ‘Do you mean Pull.’
‘Oh sorry Paul in your own time my son’
    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
    ‘And what are sirs pleasures’
‘Well, birds and curry I suppose’

Hi Alex, first of all many thanks for this excellent review of Only Fools, which is very much appreciated. Like you, this is my all time fave situation comedy series and i couldn't agree more with what you have said. Doctor Who and in particular the Hinchcliffe/Holmes era & Only Fools are my all time fave shows. With regards to fave episode i would have to say personally i have joint favourites with "To Hull and Back" and "Jolly Boys Outing" taking that position. Overall, i would also have to say series 6 is the strongest with particular high praise for "Danger UXD" and "The Unlucky Winner Is ..." if had to choose. Only Fools even had a cameo appearance of course by the much missed and loved Nicholas Courtney who we all adore as the Brig! Please, please do some individual reviews of each episode, i would love to hear your thoughts. You speak with an articulate manner from the heart and i truly enjoy your channel always.

The genius of this show is not only every joke lands and every character is real, but John knows how to control you. You think what he wants you to think and the twists are real every time. As great as the acting is, it's all about how great the script is

I love OFAH. One of the best shows of all time. It's funny i just watched your Why You Should Watch: Goodnight Sweetheart the other day, another of my favorite sitcoms of all time, and i thought "he should do one on Only Fools too." So thanks for this.
As for my favorite episode, i'm gonna cheat and say Miami Twice. I know it's technically 2 episodes but it's still one story.

  • @GamerWho

My favourite probably is the episode with the blow-up dolls.
I also quite liked the spin offs. Green Green Grass was an okay sitcom but Rock and Chips was just getting good when John Sullivan passed away. Seeing young Del was great. Wish we could have had a few more episodes.

Hi Wingy. Would enjoy more only fools content, reviews & ranking vids are the best. My fave series episodes are the one where Rodney dates a police woman, where Boycie cheats at cards & the exploding dolls. Sorry can't remember the titles, not seen them in ages. Will definitely do a rewatch now though after your video.

Because it’s absolutely hilarious. One of the best shows ever, and one of the best things to come out of Britain. It sort of reminds me of Ed Edd n Eddy with three guys trying to make it big, and always go wrong. Very sad to hear about John Challis passing, he was a legend.

Also what are your thoughts on The Royle Family, The Office UK/US, Mr Bean and Friday Night Dinner as they would be good for the "Why You Should Watch" series, that's if you like them though.

@@WingyMedia I can definitely understand that, I just think it's filled with so many funny moments in that little cottage and while the end is slightly strange, you get that wittiness from Del that's often massively overshadowed by his foolishness, bit like in the one a few eps later when he gets immunity from prosecution, top stuff 😂

Would agree with the vast majority of this Wingy. The first series is ok, "Slow Bus to Chingford" & "The Russians are Coming" are the best episodes. Agree series 2 and series 3 are not that great apart from a "Losing Street", and a "Touch of Glass". Series 3 is poor, "Homesick" contains a joke in very poor taste about sexual assault , and "Wanted" is again in very poor taste and not funny at all. Only "Healthy Competition" and Granddad's now famous line about a Wendy house save series 3. Would agree series 6 the 1st of the longer episode series are superb. "Jolly's Boy Outing" is the best special, I would say the best of the longer episodes would be "Chain Gang" and the best of the regular length episodes "The Longest Night" from Series 5. Also would love to see to you review each season that would be "cushty"!!

  • @oliverraven
    @oliverraven 2 года назад

Wingy, if you're gonna be picky about the difference between a Reliant Robin and a Reliant Regal, then I'm gonna get fussy about the misuse of "hysterical" when you actually mean "hilarious". The iconic moments are *hilarious* but your reaction to them was *hysterical*. They're not synonyms.
Anyway, decent show, not my favourite; superfans tend to be bores. It's part of the British cultural landscape like Doctor Who though, so I wouldn't want it to be off anyone's radar completely.
When I was a kid all the new episodes had Uncle Albert in so any occasional repeat from series 1-3 would catch me off guard with Grandad being there instead. As for a top episode? Well, Mother Nature's Son springs to mind.
