The Fiesta is about 10 million times cooler than the 458 and McLaren.
It is if it looks and performs like this.
and about 10 million times more of them on the road
Every gran, every auntie, uncle, nephew, niece, daughters doctors dogs neighbour has got a fiesta in England. It was the most popular car here for 2 years in a row lol
If having the same shaped car as every 20 something in Britain is cool to you? you have a strange definition of that wording.
Nothing cool about parking this up 99% of the time in a garage and only being seen on a really strange.
I'd rather have a car I can use that's the cool part .
This fiesta is only good for one job and that's not driving on normal roads.
@@greyguy.960 R5/Rally2 are completly different than stock base
They only have same front windsheld i guess
This video was the reason why a few years ago I bought a brand new 2016 white Fiesta ST 5DR. I live in the states and every time I drive that car it reminds me just how glad I am that I bought it.
It's an amazing car. Shame that we only got 2 generations of it before some idiots thought it would be a good idea to kill it.
That sound. Different car and engine, but can't wait for the Focus RS.
I'm picking up my lotto winnings next week. I getting one...
Fantastic driving!! The car looks absolutely phenomenon!
REALLY good driving here people! This is a proper reviewer for a car.
Rally driving has paid off as Henry looks like he can pedal with the best of them, Hats off.
some really solid content from evo these days. keep it up!
Brilliant driving in a car that puts a really big smile on my face... If I had enough money I'd buy one of these, can't have more fun with a car :)
A dog box essentially has the gears engage head on with nothing to "soften" the shift or get the gears to the same speed (synchro). That's why the shifts are very aggressive and the gears are much stronger and harder than a "normal sequential". The clutchless shifts are another feature of this transmission... hope that helped.
Brilliant footage! The airfield piece was great, especially expression on his face,
this thing sounds so cool
From what I remember he started rallying a few years back in a 205 gti :)
God you are driving good! Love this video, you did such a good review!
Great job Henry, looks like you got the hang of that little Fiesta! It looks like you had great fun. :)
I hate when people say "heavy clutch" when in fact it is the exact opposite. The only reason it feels heavy is because the motor turns over with very little inertia. This is because the motor and the clutch are so lightweight. It takes a higher rpm to pull the car from a stop because the weight of the car has a greater effect on the speed of the engine. I've explained that as simply as possible.
i think it has a direct effect from the spring fingers your pedal is pushing in to lift the clutch off the flywheel. the heavier the clutch springs the higher hp it takes to cause it to slip. this car prob has a really heavy sprung puck clutch that exceeds any stage clutch you can buy for the road car.
heavy as in you need a heavier pressure on the pedal than normal
Great video, I think Henry is a much better driver than we can get a feel for by just watching.
Spot on. I bet them cars are so much fun to drive, but since the fall of group a rallying has become a lot less fun to watch, bring back the crude production based cars which need to be manhandled a bit.
Hell yes
There are 3 diffs on the car, front, center and rear. The center diff is most likely electronic. Once the handbrake lever is pulled the center diff unlocks allowing the rear wheels to lock up.
I love that exhaust!
he owned a caterham and drove it through the winter in snow... he's an unreal driver
This car is absolutley awesome!
these rally cars can shift up without a clutch with a sequential dogbox as they are designed to, and also use a flat shift system that cuts spark when gearing up so the driver never has to lift. however, downshifting requires the use of a clutch.
the over run sounds great, bruggabruggabrugga :)
Yes there are, sequential boxes with synchros, perfect example is a sequential shifter on top of a standard transmission. ikeya sequential shifter evo look it up
I have been waiting for a car like this for years. Fro
Great video guys. What an amazing car. One question though: at 5:48, why does it look like there is tape all over the side of the car up to the door handle?
they fix fast any hit in pumper like this, even in rally,or they swap with new one.
sounds so nice on the overrun!
Damn! Check out Catchpole with the Scandinavian flick!!!
im pretty sure its just so the jack can fit to lift the car. rally cars are lowered for tarmac rallies so they just need that little lift to fit the jack under. for gravel rallies the car is raised so no need for the ramps.
the honister pass is a cracking road!
Henry has lets say dabbled abit in rallying in 08 and 09. Fair to say he is at home in a rally car.
R. Kubica is killing at the moment in wrc-2 in DS3 spec like this fiesta.
Yep, that makes sense. Cheers for the reply!
True, I saw an interview of him testing on the track the other day...After the trouncing he gave Pikes Peak I wonder if he may broaden his horizons and step off into Dakar? It would be glorious to see him running a Works Citroen in Dakar...I wonder if the Helicopter could even keep up :)
Henry is subtle - he's an English gentleman. Take some time to read him in evo and listen to him - he's one of the best motoring journalists around. His sense of humour is very dry as well.
Good, very good. Rallying is my thing. Subscribed.
Great video. So jealous; I would love to have a go at that R5
the liftoffs sound so nice
Damn. Henry can drive.
Great vid. Great driving, too. :)
This is prob a silly question but I'd like to know the answer: What is the point of those little (5-10cm?) ramps that the front wheels were on? I presume its just to hold the car in place as you could have a much higher ramp (with a v shallow decline to avoid the front catching) or just put it on axle stands if it was for working underneath the front?
Breezer123 to raise the front of the car enough for the trolley jack to roll in under the front sump guard.
Great driving Henry
Great segment, more stuff like this that is different from stock car reviews would be good to have as well.
Love a good sequential gearbox
Henry you are very good at driving!
Great vid Catchpole, that thing sounds delicious.
WOW that antilag sound
THAT LOOKS LIKE FUN!
Great video enjoyed this :-)
thanks for the info. i do not live in the uk and EVO magazines are not available in my local bookstores =(
There were no comments about the difference between the Fiesta VS Ferrari !!! You should do a comparison, that would be fun to watch! :)
I want this as my daily car!! :D
That exhaust note is deliciously naughty.
Me: *Watches video*
Me: Looks out of window at my Fiesta wondering what it would look like with the R5 kit on it.
You sure do have some cool roads over there.....
you lucky bastard ;-) Great driving by the way!
Great handling and nice car :)
Very nice! Thanks for the upload
Fair play... Nice driving sir!
I understand that dog's eliminate the synchro's and that's why they are made much stronger. So, are there sequential boxes with synchro's and then sequential boxes with dogs instead? I believe that's is what you're saying, but I just want to be sure.
We need these in the US
is there a festa rs coming? I know about the focus rs is here soon but was wondering if ford is going to have s festa rs as well here in the us.
10/10 would daily that
Damn he's a great driver
Yes their is!
He does some amateur rally events. Usually near the end of each EVO magazine there's an entry about his rally escapades.
this car drove in european rally championship is Kajetan Kajetanowicz
possibly hiding previous cosmetic damage?
fantastic!
Anyone else kinda surprised/impressed with his driving skills?
such an awesome sound :)
Incredible!
It really seems precise. It also seems you're a good rally driver, or almost like
How the AWD gets power to rear axle, with clutch or with diff?
I ask this because in a handbrake turn with rear wheels locked, if there's center diff, either the engine loses half revs in the moment the handbrake is pulled, or if the clutch is pressed, the clutch disc loses half rpm
Great vid!
That, looks like a lot of fun...
I would have a Fiesta for sure.
Brilliant brilliant brilliant video :)))
If I had the money I genuinely would buy this over a supercar.. People talk about accessible performance. Think this ticks that box! Awesome driving too! I know I can do that on Forza but not sure about in real life! :D
Thanks for sharing!
Epic Henry!!
My dream daily driver😍
i wish the new Fiesta RS to look like this!!
Ford ST SÉ LOS MERIENDA, MENUDO APARATO👍
It's a good thing there will be more powerful WRC cars in 2017.
In his previous videos he was wearing a red glossy DW-6930 the 30th anniversary. But I have no idea which model is this... very strange, never saw it before. Looks like 6900 model, but it's not.
Damn good driving.
Awesome car
does Henry Catchpole have a racing background (sorry for noob question)?
makes me wanna sauce up my st!!!! :^)
Yeah... Same here.
Someone rich get me this
No clutch to shift this seq gearbox? I see some people clutching for them. Can anyone explain? Are they different types of seq boxes?
its all about sensation while driving..
A great car, cool video but a bit more excitement, common!! :)
nice one Henry.
no doubt ,ill choose the fiesta any time ,any day
Its good for racing?
Go Henry Block!
Price caps are a good thing
Badass car.
