While testing for the Donegal Rally, I had the opportunity to do a back-to-back drive that I've been thinking about since the day the Ford Escort Cossie V2 was finished: is it slower than a Ford Fiesta R5? Or faster? Or the same? Thanks to our friends at M-Sport in the UK, they helped make that test a reality.

As a farmer I could say you technically could there was ford tractors in production (new Holland took them over) but all the fords where 7 speeds and turbo’d.
Darren Cumming as the owner of a Ford 5000 tractor I can definitely confirm that it is definitely not turbod haha but it’s a bloody good tractor!

The thing that makes the Cossie V2 so cool to watch is that it sounds just like the mid-90's cars that McRae drove. We don't have to watch old [comparatively] crappy SD in car footage to enjoy the sounds of the gearbox, the rattle of the gravel, and the chirp of the wastegates.
That was a major part of the allure of building this thing. Stoked you're enjoying it.

I love that he's using the cossie, It's one of my favorite cars. This also goes to show how much Ford has progressed with moving to the Fiesta and Focus. Super disappointed that Ford is dropping both models. I feel it's a big mistake on their part in doing so.

He did! A Ford Crown Vic Interceptor. Didn't last long the poor car. Air bags deployed while driving...
He's a fraud....he tried actually rallying and got beating badly ... or he totalled the car he's a clown.
WHITE NUKE !, he’s not a fraud, he’s an average show off. He isn’t Colin McRae levels of rallying, but he’s still damn good at what he does. He found he prefers the fun over the competition, then he made a channel off of it. Deal with it, he’s an amazing driver.
My friend had a 91 Corolla 5 speed that was actually fairly quick since it was so small. Imagine Sir Block destroying that.

Both the Fiesta R5 and the Cossie V2 are incredible cars, but I would love to take the 'ol Cossie for a run or 5. Always been a huge fan of the Cossie and would have to say it would be a dream to drive one.. Now owning one, that's a whole different level!

Both look and sound great. I'd have to behind the wheel to make a decision absolute. I do like the driver to driver methodology vs the car to car methodology. Same car across the board really puts driver to driver measure in place. I love that concept and execution. Beep beep skirt skirt! Could come down to 10ths of a second between drivers.

Still the Escort Cosworth for me every time. Has a special place in my heart after an epic blast through the Eiffel Mountains in the mid nineties. Possibly greatest driving experience ever.

That's always my goal, is to bring more rally content to the automotive world.
Because usa couldnt compete with europe so stuck with drag racing and oval racing forget steering more engine.

I really appreciate you asking about the numbers regarding the Msport Fiesta R5, because I assumed you all weren't going to give out that info so I started Googling it, and was unable to find anything definitive, and even a loose number was hard to come by.

The Fiesta R5 seems hard to beat bang for buck but I'm 49, nostalgia becomes a big factor, to me the Cossie is one of the most beautiful WRC cars ever made, and I love what you did with it.

That's because it mostly is. R5 regs don't allow much in the way of engine mods. Where it is completely different is chassis, braking and suspension.

@@Maroco918 a Porsche cayman gt4 (gt4 it's a very basic and inexpensive class, mainly used in national and european championships, more or less like the r2 rally class) costs around 160.000€, a Porsche 911 gt3r (gt3 is a well known class used all around the world Ford lots of different Championships, like the r5 rally class) costs around 460.000€, and the porsche 911 rsr GTE (GTE it's the most advanced class of GT Racing, this cars compete in the ELMS Championship and the WEC) costs around 990.000€.
Cars are a expensive hobby hahahaha
@@CarlosGarcia-ze6rt Exactly, and those cars are not profitable for the manufacturers, it's mostly for advertising/exposure. They often lose money selling the race-ready platforms. The R5 is a complete bargain at 300k, the Sadev transmission alone must be around 25k. I'd take the Cossie tho ;P

One second/km in rallyng dictionary it's like an eternity in real life. The R5 rally car are simply incredible in terms of cornering speed and braking, but the Cozzy are still an amazing piece of kit !!

I just really hope this car gets added to Forza Horizon 4. I was born the same year the Escort Cossie was released and it has been my dreamcar since I first got my first toy of it. The way you have revitalized the car is just awesome. Nobody does widebody Escorts anymore, not since Thundersaloon and Rallycross. And I just hope for a way to get my hand on it, either in a game or as a diecast model, because that car takes me right back to the golden days of Escort Cosworth.
I dunno about the real thing & never will, but the Fiesta R5 in DIRT 2.0 is an absolute weapon!
