And Gaby, as usual, acted like a selfish spoilt child... She always get out of bad situation because of her look or her "comic lines" (cf. the disabled parking in season 4). Here she doesn't really seem to care about the problem Bree was having, only caring about herself... Until Lynette FINALLY faces her with the fact that she should be the first to feel concerned.
Bree was the true friend, in every sense of the word. When Gabby had that sewage problem in season 1 , she lent her the money without strings attached, meaning she didn't even need to give it back. She also wanted to give Lynette 20.000 USD for her pizzeria as a birthday present! Last but certainly not the least - she even wanted to give Susan her kidney. What more there is to say...
They were so horrible to Bree. None of them deserved her forgiveness. Gaby was the worst through all this. All she thought about was herself and Carlos. Even till the very end. She was happy to let Bree take the fall for the murder and wouldn’t let Carlos confess. She annoyed me so much in S8. None of them were there for Bree. Not when she was getting blackmailed, when Chuck was after her, when he died or when they saw a different man coming out of her house every morning. None of them stopped to think that was so unlike Bree and something must be wrong. Even worse, the 3 of them started talking about her behind her back. Even after all they did, Bree was willing to take the blame for the murder. And she forgave them so easily. They should’ve been grovelling.
@@Mmm-jx7up Gabi definitely protect his husband, Carlos did forgive Andrew for killing Juanita Solis and Gaby did protect Bree and Andrew to some extend.
Bree is the only housewife who went through any kind of character development from series 1 to 8. Susan always the lovable idiot who gets into 'hilarious' situations that are resolved by the end of the episode, Lynette the neurotic control freak soccer mom and Gabrielle, the spoilt one. Even when they tried to give Gabrielle a bit of depth and make her poor, she still had an Aston Martin on the driveway.
I kind of agree. Bree certainly grew the most out of the four. However I do think Gaby did a lot of growing too, facing and confronting her traumatic past the way she did.
This scene was satisfying. They all decided to ice her out and then judged her actions afterward. But everyone forgave susans painting. The saddest part is that everyone had a spouse or partner to lean on, except for Bree. Thank goodness for Renee.
Man, I was just waiting for this season throughout the seasons. I mean, yest they are her friends, but they never reeeeaaaaallllyyyy looked out for her until it was to late. The only people I thought she was closest to was Katherine and Reene, because as soon as they saw something they intervened. You tell them, Bree.
I do agree. Honestly looking back on the show, I realize how often Susan, Gaby, and Lynette were not good to her, not there for her when she needed them, or treated her like shit. Like back in season 2 when she was struggling with drinking, they treated her like a criminal and didn't try to help her. Season 5 Lynette acted like a self-entitled snob when Bree was finally successful in her cookbook business. I remember she made a big scene at one of Bree's functions when she didn't get what she wanted. And we can't forget Orson, the way he expected her to give up everything for him. He wanted her to give up her business for him, her friends, and even her own son. Bree was always giving and giving and any time she wanted to do something for herself, she was seen as selfish, or when she really needed help, her friends didn't help her. Katherine and Renee were the best friends she had, because they were there when she needed them.
Gabby was the worst one of all. She had no problem letting Bree take the fall. Carlos himself was willing to confess, but she was totally against because it would have landed him in jail for real this time and he wouldn’t have gotten out. She was only thinking about her well-being. Lynette was to preoccupied with trying to win back Tom and Susan was so paranoid that she literally drew a painting of them hiding the body in the woods which was presented at an art gallery during the time Chuck was harassing Bree. And yet, when it was a sense of trouble, they accused her of keeping secrets and completely abandoned her, leaving her to deal with the aftermath. That was so low.
And of course at the art gallery, even when it was clearly Susan's fault for outing them, they still blamed it on Bree because Chuck happened to be there. So since he used to be Bree's boyfriend, it was automatically HER fault. Yeah, makes perfect sense. I love when Bree FINALLY tore them all a new asshole. They deserved it.
@@tyresmith9833 i agree but lynette and susan wanted to do the right thing to help Bree. It was season 8,idk what episode but lynette ans susan were walking outside and gaby came to talk to them. Gaby was gonna let Bree take the fall until lynette called her out.
You are absolutely right on every point. Even when she came to them with the second letter "you're welcome", they dismissed her completely and Lynette and Gabby decided they should stop being mad with each other but just with Bree. Besides, what was SO horrible that Bree had done to deserve such drastic reaction from all of them? Look at Susan's "Illustrated confession" painting. That's what really put them all to risk. As for Renee, hats off to her!
Agree with you. She saved Gaby and Carlos, susan draw the entire thing, and Lynette just over acted and blamed the wrong person. Seriously what susan did was the worst
Gabi was the worst, sneaky and most selfish. Gabi was the one who put them at risk from the start. She only cared about carlos and her family, didnt even think about how this could ruin her friends and their families. If she was a true friend, she wouldve let Carlos do the right thing and she wouldnt put them in this situation even if the girls chose to support her. she also told bree to break up with the bf and then blamed bree and got mad at her when bree was nothing but a good friend to her. she was gonna let Bree take the fall if Lynette didnt call out for her shit...Gaby is smart enough to fool and use people, but when it comes to taking responsible, it literally takes someone or a situation to make her do the right thing. If that didnt happen, we all know she would just wait for the problem to disappear and get away with anything.
I hate how Gaby refused to aknowledge what Bree did to protect all of them, mostly her and Carlos. At least he did, and wanted to tell the truth. She even dismissed her actions as a "screw up".
This is one of my fav moments from season 8. I love Marcia's acting in this scene! and its funny because all i wanted was for the girls to save her and for things to go back to the way they were, and then at this point i was right there with Bree, i was like "Seriously?" after all this time!?!?!? To Little To Late.
Its not even this season! Its every season, including the first! When she had that dinner party, and she clearly outed Rex did any of them ask her what was going on in her relationship? No, they idly stood by and watched her fall apart. They only said/asked if things were right when it interviened with their lives (when Susan stayed with her, when Susan found out she was sleeping with Karl, etc, etc).
It’s a travesty that Bree went through so much undeservingly just for acting how she was taught and for being herself. As soon as she tried to be vulnerable and stick her neck out for people, or even change, she got screwed. I know some say not to completely trust an addict when they rant, but she was dead right with every word.
I don't know what happened to the other video, but it bares repeating that Bree wanted that apology before it got worse enough for this intervention to take place. That's why she was almost about to cry when she finally heard those words out of their mouths, but it was too late. The hurt was too deep. The blame was too penetrating. She did the brave thing and walked away. I forget if the other three stepped up to do more after they got called out for their behavior, but I remember feeling empathetic towards Bree. Apologize to people when you've hurt them. Who cares if it hurts you to do so. No one should carry your burdens for you.
Eva look best in this Bree moment. Gabby and Bree are like the Samantha and Charlotte... I dont intend to provoke argumentation. I know Bree is apple and Charlotte is orange. What I am saying is that both characters are beautiful and very integral in making the show a masterpiece. HAS BREE WON ANY AWARD??? I mean Marcia Cross. Does she get best actress or best supporting nomination?
I don't understand why they were even mad at Bree!! Susan told Mike and drew the picture of the 4 of them burying Alejandro in the woods. Lynette told Tom. And even after everything, Bree could have easily disregarded everyone and just said it was Carlos who killed Alejandro, but she didn't!
Yes, I added some reverb to the sound, both for drama and for the sake of changing the original tone so that I don't get a strike for copyright infringement (which is never intended by me anyway, whatever I make).
When Bree is more upset about an intervention than the fact her lover was a married man. Her friends were right "There's no Bree left" as Bree was very moralistic. Sober, Bree would have been very upset about her dalliance with a married man. But yes, Bree also had very good points
