I had a similar issue. Beat the piss out my LS for like 2 hours, didn't realize the rev limit was at 8k and loosened almost every valve. Sounded just like I spun several bearings. Good times 🤣
Could this cause the car to sound horrible, like metal on metal, to the point the idle will stumble? My nephew had a 97 hatch, and let a friend drive it and it bounced off the rev limiter a few times and developed a nasty knock, so he sold it to me for stupid cheap, and I'm working on it this weekend to try and get it back on the road..
@@jeffkarr461 wouldn't hurt to check the valve lash first. I swapped the motor out first then did an inspection and wanted to slap myself cause it was a healthy ass engine.
Could have pulled a plug wire one by one and listened for the "knocking" to change pitch or stop to see if it was bottom and and which one. But good call on the valve lash. Pre roller rocker arm Hondas can get noisy.
Dunno if someone mentioned it yet but these cars are known to have those issues in rear end. My car is same thing. Hit a puddle and rear end jumps out. My cars almost dead so not bothering fixing it but would like to know what you had to do. Great vid.
Oil doesn't thin out as it heats up. It thickens, hence the higher number for the rating EG. 10w-30. Since it thickens, it isn't as efficient as transmitting the pressure generated by the pump, hence the lower pressure readings.
On the throttle body thing you took apart does coolant have to flow thru it? I'm trying to fix my high idle issue and noticed mine was just capped off. Going to adjust it all the way down like you did and also about how many threads should I set the idle screw to? Less threads less idle I suppose. Thanks for the help

Your idle trick helped me get my car idle a lot better when the rpm in dropping to idle
