Beautiful, I was intrigued from beginning to end and loved the designs of the machines and how multipurpose they were.

It can be, but the most efficient way to slow down is to use friction. How much extra energy and mass is it worth to avoid the violent process and can that extra energy and mass be afforded after spending whatever it takes to get to the destination?
