    You so don't need to edit your videos Kat, this was fabulous as always. Think how much more stitching you can get done in all the time you can save by not editing! Though I suspect the perfectionist in you will be back to editing the minute that laptop is back!
    I got a chart this week for my first ever "big" project that needs to be kitted up with all the bells and whistles and I'm finding it a bit daunting so I'm just admiring the chart for now. I deliberated over it for ages before I bought it. It's The Snow Queen by Mirabilia. It's stunning but I fear I won't do it justice 😅 We shall see! Xx

    • @catkinandlillie
      @catkinandlillie  3 месяца назад

      Yup, I am learning from all the lovely comments like yours that I do not need to spend so much time editing 😂🩷 You are not wrong about me though...it would be so easy to slip back into doing it, because yes, I am definitely a perfectionist! I am going to try for very light editing, and I do want to pop in the pictures. Let's see how well I do! 🤞
      I LOVE the Snow Queen...I have yet to do a Mirabilia and this is on my short list for sure. It's gorgeous. I was definitely daunted by my first large fancy lady but the best plan is just to get started...it's essentially like any other design but bigger! And you don't need to worry about beads etc. for a while, so go for it and I hope you love it 😄🪡🩷

    the mermaid? you love pink, so choose a variegated pink you love and put on medium to dark gray. BTW, loved the no-edit video. Your regular vidoes are terrific, very polished and professional, but a bit more of real Kat (who is fabulous) comes through on the no edit method. Maybe continue to do tutorials with the editing, but your flosstubes be au naturel? LOL. Love your videos any way you make them. thanks and best wishes. xoxo

    Dear Kat, Your puffins are super cute!! There has been a report on the news, I think it was, recently about the puffins on the Farne Islands making a recovery after bird flu which is great to hear. They're such delightful little birds and one of my favourite birds, another one being owls! I didn't stitch while watching your video - I can't count and watch at the same time else the stitching goes wrong - but I put a few more stitches into my little mouse for the autumn design from Jess and The Geeky Stitching Co that I'm currently doing (that's the one I kept getting wonky stitches on!). I think I'll be able to post a photo of it onto Instagram at some point soon as I was getting told I'd run out of storage on my iPad and couldn't upload photos once I'd taken them but I've figured out a workaround so hopefully people can see my WIPs again on there! Know it's a couple of days late, but happy anniversary to you and Dr Tim, and I hope you had a nice time with your parents. Also hope your meeting at work wasn't as stressful/difficult as you were anticipating it might be. I have a monochromatic pattern from Long Dog Samplers that needs quite a few (!) skeins of floss to complete it but I am wondering whether I could use a variegated thread for some of it instead of using all one floss colour. Maybe you could use a neutral fabric for your mermaid and then do the mermaid in the grey and everything else in a variegated so the mermaid stands out. Or ask your mum! OK enough of my rambles and thank you so much for your video. Your Historical Sampler Company's SALs are both looking great! Take care and hope you're having a better week and that your laptop has recovered! Love Caron 🧡

    • @catkinandlillie
      @catkinandlillie  3 месяца назад

      Hi Caron! I love owls too! Both owls and puffins just seem to have so much character. Your little mouse stitch is looking so cute on IG and I definitely don't think using 2 instead of 3 strands is an issue; it looks fab 😄 Tim and I had a delightful anniversary with my parents and a lovely meal out. Work meeting was a bit stressful but it did achieve something so it was totally worth it. I always have my stitching in work with me if I need to calm my brain down a bit! I am really wanting to do a Long Dog pattern one day and think variegated thread would be gorgeous for them but it could get expensive so the idea of mix and match with a plain and a variegated could work really well. Hugs, Kat 🩷

    I think you should do variegated thread for the mermaid chart. And the Lima is a beautiful choice!

      I am really leaning towards a variegated thread but am slightly worried about how much thread it would take! That Lima is so pretty...although I *might* have ordered some other options too 😂

    However you do videos it does not matter Cat. Chatty and visiting is just fine. I put my beads into the watchmakers cases from Lee Valley Tools. Each little round "jar" inside the case has a nice tight screw on lid.

      Aw, thanks so much ☺️ It went a lot better than I thought it might do I suspect I can save myself a lot of editing time in future 😂 That sounds like a really cute bead storage solution 😄

    Great video. I’m not doing the word bubbles on the Frosted Pumpkin Arctic Animals SAL either. Once the SAL is over, are you going to do anything with the spaces that are left blank where the words were supposed to be? I want to do something with mine, but I haven ’t thought of anything yet

      Thank you 😊 I am not sure what to do instead of the word bubbles. There's an outside chance I'll still do them as charted, but maybe I'll just stitch the words without the coloured boxes. I am starting to wonder if it will look ok without anything to replace them at all, as it's not looking crazy empty right now. If I think of anything I'll be sure to chat about it in a video! 😂

    I have a question about your football stitching. Do you just do it when Liverpool are on the telly, or generally from 3 ish to 5 ish on a Saturday? I'm thinking of having a footy project (I normally crochet through football) but seeing as my team (lower end of the championship) are rarely actually on telly, I'm wondering if it's enough time to make rational progress

    • @catkinandlillie
      @catkinandlillie  3 месяца назад

      My football project is just when Liverpool play so at the moment it's about 1 game per week unless there's an international break, but there will be other matches later in the year so it's often 2 games per week at that point. And at the moment, my football project is also getting worked on another day of the week as well. But in the past it has been a project that does only get touched during the football matches. I think only you can know if there will be enough games to make good progress, but if not, having a 2 hour slot each weekend is a good option. I also think that if you pick the right project you'll still see some good progress. If it's a small and fairly 'easy' stitch without lots of complicated counting or colour changes then I reckon it would work well. Let me know how you get on! 🪡🩷
