Im taking part in a Christmas/winter SAL where in the beginning we were wondering about the big amount of brown and white floss. For what could it be? The white is obviously for snow, and someone suggested the brown is for reindeer. - Hah! They've probably never been to Lapland and seen Santa's reindeer, because they are not brown, they are grey-white!

Loved seeing chromatic dragon, he's probably my fave of all your pieces. We used to have a reindeer farm near us, but I've also seen them in the wild in Norway
Your sampler looks great, the robins are very cute. Chromatic dragon is always a marvel, the colors are so lovely! And your reindeer on the Arctic animals SAL is wonderful, I am slowly creeping over there on my project. And I’m going to the jingle ball too, it’ll be my first cross stitch event so I’m very excited!

(I'm going to play Devil's Advocate: Is that gorgeous blackfaced sheep meant to have eyes?! Perhaps not, but thought I'd ask. 😂🐑👀) And the display behind you on your "set" looks great. 👍
Thanks for your reply so far and I hope you enjoy the rest as and when you can! I appreciateyou asking about the sheep because if I had left the eyes off I'd want to know about it! It doesn't have eyes, and I think that's because The Historical Sampler Company don't ever use French knots. I did debate adding some and my Mum also suggested the same...but I guess I just didn't in the end. I was worrried I'd end up making it look weird! I do have fun changing up my 'set' each time but it is lovely to now have a hanging piece on the wall as well. That will probably not change!
I am very interested in joining the Blizzard Valley SAL, I have been looking for an excuse to buy his book!😄I would probably lean more towards the every two weeks for each part. I'm still holding onto my fall stitching right now, but it will be reindeer season soon!

I guess it depends which name generator you use...I could be Dizzy Snugglewell or Shimmer Nutcracker or Jolly Frostypants...all of which are pretty terrible! Rudolph is too obvious a choice as fave so I'd go for Comet 🦌😄

The wreath is lovely. I did the 2023 SAL Historical Sampling, I used the pattern to stitch ornaments, especially the reindeer as my neice loves them.

Im taking part in a Christmas/winter SAL where in the beginning we were wondering about the big amount of brown and white floss. For what could it be? The white is obviously for snow, and someone suggested the brown is for reindeer. - Hah! They've probably never been to Lapland and seen Santa's reindeer, because they are not brown, they are grey-white!

I appreciateyou asking about the sheep because if I had left the eyes off I'd want to know about it! It doesn't have eyes, and I think that's because The Historical Sampler Company don't ever use French knots. I did debate adding some and my Mum also suggested the same...but I guess I just didn't in the end. I was worrried I'd end up making it look weird!
I do have fun changing up my 'set' each time but it is lovely to now have a hanging piece on the wall as well. That will probably not change!

I guess it depends which name generator you use...I could be Dizzy Snugglewell or Shimmer Nutcracker or Jolly Frostypants...all of which are pretty terrible! Rudolph is too obvious a choice as fave so I'd go for Comet 🦌😄
@ all of those names I have to say are very original and not bad in the slightest they put a smile on my face 😊
