I think that grind was definitely the right move looks great! Now it’s got the “RS” emblem on there 😂 I’m partial to jigged bone for the recover! That’s always been my favorite covers on them.
The ebony wood is nice, but it’s so dark it almost looks like black synthetic. I guess for me stag is the only other option, maybe smooth bone 🤷🏼♂️ but I absolutely hate micarta on a traditional 😂
I’ll tell you what I’m a jig bone guy!!!! But it has to be good jigging if you know what I mean!!!! It would look sick with a nasty jig on it😊stay safe Richter can’t wait to see it when it’s done!!!!
He was on a 2 month+ back log when we spoke a few months ago. It's a Tidioute- you just want to change it. Love regrinds but I'll be danged if I want to pay 85$ for advertising stamp on a third of blade. 🤢
Well I think the ebony covers and hot dog shield are perfect and would leave 'em, but seeing as how a natural born Texas Tinkerer just HAS to keep tinkering...I would go with some Blue Agate ESPL or hot pink Richlite for the recover!! But seriously dude, I think the answer is sitting there right in front of you: What about some smooth yellow bone covers that have been modded even further with some sweet Scrimshaw artwork on them??? It would match up with your Yellow Rose 86 Barlow perfectly! Why not personalize it and make it inherently unique to YOU, right?? Your Yellow Rose 86 has that amazing 'Don't Mess With Texas' Snake scrimshaw art on it, so perhaps you could stick with the Texas theme and do something Cowboy themed like a steer or a rope & boot spurs or something? Or maybe just keep it Richter-themed and do some Elvis or John Wayne artwork on there?!? That'd be sweet as hell!! Everybody and they damn Mama does recovers in Micarta cause it's easy to do, and I've seen more Mammoth recovers than there were actual Mammoths walking the prehistoric Earth lol. BORING!!!! Do a yellow bone recover with some Richter-appropriate scrimshaw artwork on it and thank me later! Your Consigliere has spoken!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Love your Earnhardt sticker!!! He was the greatest ever!!!!🖤
Thanks!!
What a beauty! 🎉
Absolutely 👍 it’s a cool knife. I’m excited to see what it turns into
Looky Here Looky Here….. that is absolutely 💯 beautiful Michael, I love it “R” …… 👏🙌👍🙏
Thanks bro!
I’m looking forward to seeing the improvements on this knife.
I’m still contemplating what covers to put on it
Awesome knife. Personally, I think you’re crazy to change the covers. Ebony is beautiful and durable. Wonderful piece
I am a little crazy sometimes lol
And love seeing Goose 🪿… what’s up Dale #3 !!!! And love the JW Lid !!! ❤️👍
Oh yeah, I dig this hat too…All cool stuff. Thanks for noticing bro
@ yes sir 👍👏

@@DoggoneJohn thanks man
Pretty sweet! Great video 👍 personally I like the ebony but that's just me
I’m probably gonna keep it that way after some thought
Man, that’s a great knife and some classic jigged bone or stag will put it over the top!!
Agreed. 👍 thanks buddy
Hey bud, sweet re grind! I think there is nothing wrong with the Ebony! But to each their own 👍
@@MesserHQ true. I just figured if it’s gonna be taken apart, Might as well do something different
@ jigged ebony🔥
I think stag would suit that knife perfectly. But Westinghouse Micarta would be awesome!
Thanks for your thoughts!
I'm interested to see how it turns out.
I am too. What covers do you think I should put on it?
That’s a beauty for sure! I vote mammoth no shield for the recover
I dig that
IMO that's a great looking knife as is, but if I were gonna re-cover that one I'd pick burlap micarta👍Cheers, buddy!
Burlap Micarta is a good idea! Thanks
I think it may be too thick with stag
That’s a good observation.
Think some dyed Giraffe brone look very nice on that one.
Definitely
I’d do jigged natural micarta and keep that lanyard tube, but that’s just my opinion.
Thanks!

I feel the same about ebony
That’s a great looking knife if you must change the covers I’d go hands down knarly stag without lanyard hole…..
Thanks for the suggestion

I agree with ya! A good bone jogging can make the whole knife…if it’s done well
1st: burnt or dyed stag
2nd : Micarta of some sort.
Good choices
Ebony is perfect to me
I can see that. It’s not bad at all. It’s gonna be taken apart anyways so why not hot rod it out?
That’s my grail knife
@@billymckay5860 I can see that. It’s definitely one of those gems that are hard to get
Thin tree bark mammoth ivory scales, brass lanyard hole if at all. slick up the action and tote it !! just my 2 cents. 😬
@@KentSmith-vn9rm thanks buddy
Man U can throw on some chestnut jigged bone on it that would be sweet
Preach
Abalone
That would be insane!
It would be beautiful and definitely one of a kind.

Love regrinds but I'll be danged if I want to pay 85$ for advertising stamp on a third of blade. 🤢
I only paid the 85 because the surface of the blade was terribly pitted and has gun blue on it. It wasn’t necessary for the logo or the performance
