Nice selection for review - but what about shivworks blade? I would submit it exceeds edc requirements more so than some of the larger knives in this video...
I prefer to carry horizontal in front, edge down. I started doing this while doing viking reenactments many years ago and found it to be the most comfortable and least obtrusive with other gear. The extant examples we have hung a couple of inches down below the belt. This allows the knife to move out of the way when kneeling. I am a fat guy (6'1" 250lbs) so keep that in mind.

What is the best Actual Belt to wear with most EDC horizontal knife systems??. I just bought my first Fixed Blade - it’s a Kizer Smolt . I picked it because it looked small and Dependable for Horizontal EDC .
The Smolt is awesome. Unfortunately, there is no perfect answer to the belt question, because sheath belt loops are not standardized in any way shape or form. We often change our belt to best fit the knife we will be carrying. The most popular belt here at NBK is the 5.11 Tactical 1.5" TDU belt.
@@nothingbutknives2286 OK OK. I admit the casual opening of the beer using the knife coupled with the swigs did put me over the edge, but between the commentary and knife bottle opening, You guys are still cool.
Hey there, I've got a Glock FM81 knife and I've been looking for some sheath to wear it horizontal - are there horizontal sheaths that'd fit such a knife (6.5" blade) at all or do I need to look for something custom? Alternatives I think would be forward leaning belt-worn sheath (that blade is a bit too long to wear it vertical, for me anyway) but I'd really like to figure out some horizontal sheath.
That's a tough one because it's such a long blade, but you could try Ka Bar's Cordura sheaths. Pretty sure they make one that fits their 7" models like the USMC Bowie. The only other option I think of us besides that is an after market custom maker like Armatus.
I carry an Esee 4 in a Sagewood leather sheath cross draw horizontal position. Why? It's comfortable and I can draw it out with either hand. My pistol stays on my right side. But if my right hand becomes disabled for whatever reason i have an option.
I was noting the amount of beers per knife and was going to suggest a flask of brown snake water when low and behold one showed up…that compelled me to subscribe…nice job on the knives also! Be well!
I like horizontal carry. Just know that if you carry in the small of the back, you risk significant injury to your spine should you fall backwards and land on the knife. This can happen because of slipping out on the trail or when being shoved or hit during a fight. What can happen is that the vertebrae can be fractured, and the discs will rupture or tear, often resulting in nerve damage and, in some cases, paralysis. Also, it's very difficult to anticipate and defend against a grab from the back.
I love it. This is so much better (atleast half of it) than seeing a bunch of hard tails chopping wood. These are real selling points for real people
Thanks for watching Ricky. We tend to concentrate on the selling points we care about most. Chopping porn only goes so far.

This is a nice Video 😂 and alot of drinkin too 😂
Thanks for watching Puder.
I read the article and then i watched the video :D
Right on! Thats who it was.
I carry an Esee 4 in a Sagewood leather sheath cross draw horizontal position. Why? It's comfortable and I can draw it out with either hand. My pistol stays on my right side. But if my right hand becomes disabled for whatever reason i have an option.
are you a real life cowboy? that's a lot of weaponry to carry around everyday
That sounds like a great set-up.
I was noting the amount of beers per knife and was going to suggest a flask of brown snake water when low and behold one showed up…that compelled me to subscribe…nice job on the knives also! Be well!
Thanks Stuart.
