Nothing But Knives

Добавлен 6 фев 2021
We’re a pack of hill-born hoodlums who turned to alcohol and knife reviews as an escape from responsible day jobs.
We mostly talk about outdoor knives, but we carry folders and use kitchen knives every day, and have decided that our thoughts about these things matter enough to spend all of our time telling you what those thoughts are.
With backgrounds ranging from military, photography, and writing, and venturing from childhood mud-caked wildernesses to college, to disparate office jobs, and then back to the mud-caked wilderness, we sometimes have odd, but strong, opinions about the gear we carry.
We prefer to write those opinions, but we also have a few cameras and some ability to use them, so we decided to start turning our words into videos and appease the ravenous media gods who demand that all things must go to RUclips eventually.
We hope you enjoy our work, but we mostly hope that you go to our website and read stuff.

You should have a portion of one of your neck knife videos stating why you should NEVER use paracord as a necker neclace material to carry your knife. Great videos sir, thank you.
Yea we will talk about that when we do our neck knife video. We photograph neck knives with paracord when that is what the knife companies provide, but it is not ideal.
Major clipping on the audio
I suggest you look at a Tops Knives "Cut 4.0".
The TOPS Cut 4.0 and Blue Otter are both great options. At least one of them will be our next horizontal carry video.
Damn, that's the hottest AI I've seen so far.
They look better on [the reason why we clicked and why this video has half a million views] than on me
Maybe if you started wearing shorter shirts?
Thanks team. My daughter works around horses and cowboys so I got her the backcountry blackout based on your review. Loved the video. Stay the course!
Right on! Great knife. Hope your daughter likes sit, and thanks for watching.
I love that belly and sexy shape. Knives are nice too
I love your dry humour and honesty. Thanx for the fun vid
Not sure this pro-X (i.e., pro-Elon) rant is the right thing to do given the upcoming election. 2/3rd of the „knife hobby content“ in this vid being political. I am getting the „need to earn a living“ part, but man, Elon and X are no options - there’s more at stake than not being allowed to show knives - democracy for example 😜
Musk isn't running for office and all knife makers and reviewers want is someplace that will let us do our work.
There is Rumble as an option
Yep and it is growing.
U tube will cut you off as well..check with TKell and Tim will tell you what they went thru…cut off the live with 300 people watching for chicken hit .. love the back story on the Taco Viper! ⚔️
Yea it really seems like the bulk of Silicon Valley is determined to wreck the knife community, but cutting off a livestream is absolutely a chicken hit move. Thanks for watching.
@@nothingbutknives2286 u bet…really like y’all’s reviews and links to check pricing. Saddle up ! Whiskey for my men n beer for my horses!
Right on! Thanks for hanging out.
"A wide swath of knowledge and stupidity" is an incredibly apt description. Samwise knows his shit
I will gurentee there is no other Knife reviewers as entertaining as you guys.
We're just drunk enough to accept that right now, but don't tell DBK because they look like they could break us into fours.
Instagram is a dumpster fire fed by desperate OF harlots, sad sack simps, and bothersome bots. X suffers from the same ailments, but at least they don't censor the sharp and pointy stuff.
Stick to YT… f*** X. I deleted it years ago
Hopefully RUclips will continue to allow knife content. We will see...
@@nothingbutknives2286 good luck to you all regardless!
Fun stuff. Buddy needs more screen time. With his charcoal eyes and Monroe hips he's ready to take that California trip.
Had a blast guys!! Can’t wait for the next one.
Yea. That was fun.
What is your favorite survival knife. One can do it all.
This is the question that will start a long argument at the Nothing But Knives office. The Reiff F5, Schwarz Lost Trail 5, Off-Grid Backcountry and the Condor Bush Slicer are a few of our favorites.
@@danholmblad9925 look up White River and Lionsteel options as well.,
So many options and so little time!
I understand. My best pick is the legend Ron Hood knives.
Keep up the awesome information You are doing a great job. God bless you and America.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
I guess it would be cheating to use an Old Hickory cleaver. But that would be my top kitchen knife for camping/bushcraft. I have one of those Pioneer Woman large chef's knives. I got a job in a remote city and picked up a cheap room with shared kitchen. I did all my household shopping at Wally World and took on the daunting task of picking a "good enough" kitchen knife from there. It was a lot better than I expected. It was easily the best chef's knife in the store, which was clearly not understood by the typical WM buyer, since the color coated POS were marketed far harder than the PW brand. The average American has the knife selection instincts of a small transgender cactus.
LOL. The Old Hickory Cleaver is awesome, and a great choice. Hopefully the OKC brand survives, and the Old Hickory set sticks around. Its always fun to hear Pioneer Woman chef knife stories.
These are the best knives for TikTok bushcraft.
Are you asking us to dance?
What kind of Clips do yall prefer for Izulu 2? I’m trying to figure all this setting up scout carry with different belts and Trying different clips. I need something bomber as I’m working at a hospital and IT CANT FALL OFF
A Tek Lok in appendix carry might be your best bet. Lots of people also just forgo the clip entirely and slip it in their pocket for EDC. So long as you don't have to go into a crouch a lot, that should be pretty secure.
@@nothingbutknives2286 I bought 1 or 2 of like 5 different kinds of clips - All well thought of. I’m gonna try them all and figure how to Scout carry al kinds smallish EDC fixed blade knifes I also have 3 leather belts as well as 3 tactical belts. I’m gonna figure this all out - down to the best Hardware🤘😎🔥
Just got the Sierra and it's a lot of knife for the money with good steel. The only issue I can see is the handle heavy balance, the chunky G10 when doing the pinch grip for cutting food. The handle just get bulbous towards the back end. Other than that, the blade shape and grind is great. I don't want to return it as it's been the closest knife I came across to a kitchen style camp knife. I might just take a dremel to the G10 and cut it down and cut off the rear handle that's too big.
Yeah, Off Grid handles definitely skew on the larger size. The Grizzly handle is a little more toned down.
You guys are so funny and yet informative. Keep it up.
That is the goal. Thanks for watching.
"Overbuild"? It is $20 knife that for sure is "over". $320 for this "overpriced" 3v knife (58-60HRC that needs coating) that you can get a better version from China with 7cr (60HRC that doesn't need a coating and easier to sharpen) for $17 shipped. Knife community being scammed again. Sorry but it really pisses me off when it takes $5 to produce this knife and only selling point for is "made in U.S" that you wouldn't even be sure about. That's $315 profit for $5 plus you can get a replica that is better. Not sure if I should cry or laugh.
You can cry and laugh. We accept all forms of hysterics here.
@@nothingbutknives2286 The point is $20 for Aliexpress knife that is as good as the $300 if not better in some cases. I have some original knifes and most replicas. For use replica every time. Play and display 9/10 the replica is just as good.
@@nothingbutknives2286 "hysterics" Well done. That's a great comeback. HaHa.
Nah, but we get the rage though. It's not something we'd recommend to someone who actually needs a knife for anything other than being a jackass in the woods with too much time on their hands.
Trc apo
Love the intro.! Really dig the cardbox bed.!! Bunch of Lillypillies.! But we love it mate.
Ha ha. Lillypillies. Thanks for the Down Under vocab info and thanks for watching.
Really would like to know what was that Australian knife please.?? Fire, alcohol & best of mates. Just priceless.!
The Half Breed Blades Medium Infantry in OD Green. We need to get more of their stuff.
Firstly gentlemen, that's a Guiness you are consuming. It is actually a Stout not really a beer.! By seeing how it was poured, reckon it's not your regular beverage. But it is what it is, you do you mate. Anyway, love the knives, love the vid, enjoy the chat too. So what smoking.?? Cheers from the Land Down Under.
We actually drink it on a fairly regular basis, but we usually drink it at a pub where a more qualified person handles the pour.
Cowabunga.! Found you guys & gal again. Love the Kizer Metaproptizol. Definitely getting the Condor Bush Slicer, think it's a Joe Flowers design.? Great whiskey mate. we're killing the Taylor 2010 down here. Cheers from Christmas Island & Australia.
Stoked to hear Taylor has made its way to Australia. The Bush Slicer was designed by Julio Diez, but we thought it was a Flowers design when we first ordered it. We get to hang out with both of them a few times a year, and they are good dudes and great designers. Thanks for watching.
What makes the shirt is a great woman, dont forget that guy's ❤❤❤
Rei Kawakubo over here thinking he knows everything there is to know about shirts.
Wow, your hot sister is seriously hot. 🔥. Does every Southern girl look that good? Something about knives, too. Love from the UK.
I often fast-forward your vid until the girl is on.So I really don't know what is going on.
You do you, man, but it kinda sounds like you're watching the wrong videos.
I use a ceramic paring and ceramic french knives for food preparation and they weigh an 1.5 ounces. I would rather use a Chinese ginzu chopper than these humongous knives. This size I use as machetes. Kizer knife 🔪 is the only that's almost reasonable. Kizer Metaproptizol Fixed Blade Knife with Sheath, 5.59 In D2 Steel Blade, Survival Knife. Here's the name of the knife.
I don't think we've ever encountered someone who actually uses ceramic knives, especially for camping. That's a steel-underpants move.
Science!
🥼 ⚛️ 🔪!
I cannot watch you pour that Guinness. Disgraceful technique.
The shame!
I have been using a Tops Frog Market knife for my camp stuff. Would love to video Kelly using that knife. Video would be shaky as I'd be using only one hand.
Bacteria doesn't survive or live on wood, so perfectly safe to chop on tree stumps.
We would not have changed our methods regardless, but good to know.
@@nothingbutknives2286 Good for you. I'm a dirty Gen Xer and never take a chopping board. I do the same as you. Mmmm and possibly worse ha ha
Loving the reviews
I like first knife reviewed because it is pointy with no pronounced belly. 🍻🔪
As a designated "Camp Chef" thank you for this review! I've been hunting for a camp cooking knife for 2 years now. The Grizzly is exactly what I've been looking for.
It's a tough one to beat for fireside cooking. Glad we could help.
Grew up in Western Pennsylvania…..lots of Case, GEC , and Ka-bars…..fun times!
Bourbon, inflatable objects, flowered shorts, and an O-G Grizzly……..a damn fine way to celebrate National Knife Day. Now where’s my tumbler? Cheers!
🔪 🥃 👍
Dude!! The flamingo camera work!!! I almost pissed on myself. 😂
Our team never stops innovating.
