      If you have a GCN subscription then you have a lot of great races you can watch during the offseason from the early part of the season.
      Highly recommend watching the other monuments, the Flemish classics, Strade Bianche, and the Ardenne classics

    Second group dynamics once again dooms the chase.Roglic said after the race he was suffering from 50k to go. He had to stop pushing after reaching the top of the final climb. He was satisfied with the podium.

      It’s insane Rog can blow 50km out and still finish on the podium

    Best rider of the year has to be Pogi. I know many think it's MVDP but that doesn't make sense to me. He won as much monuments as Pogacar (2) and Worlds. Pogacar on the other hand was second in the Tour, won 2 stages there, won La Fleche Wallone, Amstel Gold Race and Paris-Nice additional to his two monuments. In total he won 17 (!) races while MVDP won 6.

    • @spacexander4239
      @spacexander4239 11 месяцев назад +4

      I agree Pogi has a chance to become the greatest of all time. MVDP will never be in that conversation

    • @floydmeeuse8110
      @floydmeeuse8110 11 месяцев назад

      We have to consider Vingegaard as well, he has raced way less than Pog, but except for Paris nice has won everything he started at. And winning the Tour should always be considered the biggest achievement.

    • @elonif4125
      @elonif4125 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@floydmeeuse8110Vingegaard is certainly the best GC rider. You could say he’s better than Pogi since he beat him at the most important race of the year but for me, being the best cyclist also means being versatile. It’s imo the two monument wins which give Pogi the edge.

    • @jonoharper4729
      @jonoharper4729 11 месяцев назад +3

      MvdP won the cyclo-cross world championship too. I know that doesn't count as road cycling, but two rainbow jerseys and two monuments is pretty special, extremely impressive.

    It was strange the the others couldn’t follow Pogi on the last descent. He’s a reasonable descender but to put light and day between himself and the chasing pack was surprising. Chapeau to Pogi for taking the chances and getting the rewards

    Q&A
    A question for it. You are often on a similar page regarding races, tactics, etc. (not a criticism) - who are riders/teams that you most disagree on (i.e. where Patrick is much higher on the rider/team than Benji, and vice versa). Excluding meme picks.
    Enjoy the off-season both!

    So there are riders in the pro peloton that get deemed (sometimes unfairly) as crash prone. Roglic, G Thomas and Jay Vine are the first names that spring to mind.
    Is it time that Remco makes that list? Multiple crashes at the Giro, crashed today and a few other races this season no?

    1. Please do take enough days off, eh? Ask Jay Vine about the connection between rest and performance if you need a reminder 😃
    2. Q&A
    3. So very odd to see UAE with better tactics than TJV. Will be interesting to see if they can keep that up in the TdF, with Sivakov and Politt there too.
    4. Bedbugs in Paris not worse than elsewhere (Reuters has an explainer, other sites too.)

    What an awesome ride by Tadej Pogačar, it was a good day 💪.
    On another note, I'd like to point out he scored 800 UCI points for that which is awesome but I want to know what the fuck is going on with UCI classifying race points.
    I've recently noticed that a 2.Pro stage win only attracts 20 lousy points, what the fuck, lets be real, 2.pro win should be worth much more and the depth should be a bit greater.
    For example let's say the Pog , shows up and wins 2.Pro stage win, beats Primož, he gets 20 UCI points, Primož gets 10 UCI points but some young guy having an enormous breakout gets 6th on same time, he gets Jack Shit 😮, zero points, yet you get 30th, 5 minutes or more down in this race, you would still score 10 UCI points than the win in 2.pro win.
    That's a crazy crazy disparity, it is just nuts
    What do you boys think about this?

    • @kevinberwick1567
      @kevinberwick1567 11 месяцев назад +1

      Andrea Bagioli has had an awesome finish to the end of his season but when you look at what I have expressed above, he's basically prospered enormously from these final 3 Italian one day races, scoring basically 800 UCI points I think, so if you think about my discussion and question above, is it fair, are the UCI classification of points on point.
      I don't believe so and I'm not saying this to have a go at anyone other than the UCI haven't got this right

    I don't think it was Roglic day, just didn't have the legs... However in an interview after race he said he got blocked by Moto and knew it was over... TBH I didn't notice that... I couldn't believe that 5 high calibre riders couldn't catch Pog who was cramping and struggling...that's 3rd group coming back was unexpected and made it seem more unpredictable but they also couldn't catch those in front... Hercey's crash was weird and probably more his fault rather than Remcos.

    Yates is great unless Jonas cranks it up, because we saw on stage 17 when Tadej cracked, and Yates was given the green light, but just didn't have that 7th gear to match the Kuss-Vingegaard pace, he can reliably get to 6th gear, but that last 10% not only does he not have it, no one other than Tadej can get there, so Yates or Ayuso, or any UAE rider pulling Tadej & Jonas, can put Jonas into any difficulty, only Tadej can put Jonas on his limit.
