Alaphalippe has been publicly attacked by Lefevre countless times during the past two years. I feel tired for him.. this sounds to me like mobbing
Lefevre has always been toxic.
He’s looking for a way to end he’s contract ,finding anyway
Thanks for noting that Marion Rousse is a good commentator. She is very on point on race tactics and knowledgeable on all the riders and teams.
Fully agree, Jalabert and her could comment the whole race together and it would be much better than the journalist they add with them.
Marion Rousse is a France TV commentator because she's good (one the bests), not because of bullshit quotas. Her duo with Jalabert is just the best thing in France TV
Come on I hate this.
Marion Rouse is much more than just a pretty face. She has won on the road herself. Her husband has won many races with style.
Why can’t we just cherish this beautiful and talented couple.
@@barneyklingenberg4078 that's exactly my point. She's was a good rider and is actually a brilliant analyst, regardless of the fact she's married with Alaphilippe of that she has a pretty face.
she's good ye, altough sometimes she kinda seem to just fill the blanks saying nothing much
but in france we're lucky to have decent commentators for cycling (except when it's on l'equipe 😪), but jalabert rly is always the one giving the most detailed explanations
"Why bring her into it?" because Levefere is completely petty
It's about time Lefevere spent more time in his garden! Move on old man.
Agreee with Patrick on this one. If he has an alcohol problem, they should be supporting him and offering the resources he needs to break that issue, whether its a mental health or physical dependency issues. NOT threaten with contract termination or berating him publically.
So you believe what you read?
patrick is lanterne not lefevefre
@@abritandhisbikeinpoland6802Patrick from the podcast not Patrick lefevre
He does not drink more than any other rider in peloton.
Sorry my mistake.@@anujkalmane7015
Such a classless move on Lefevere’s part to publicly comment like that. What was he supposed to accomplish by shaming a rider and his family, force on more wins? No wonder that team has been downhill the last few years, look at this disgracefully unprofessional attempt to get a rider to improve!
Good managers do this in private, not out in the open. A sport still stuck in a time warp......
That bit where Benji apparently gets tired translating had me bent over laughing … luvin the pod guys😂
Lefevre is still around for 2 reasons. He's very popular with reactionary male Belgian (and some French) cycling 'fans' 45-85. He comes with Van Mol, and has other right-kind-of contacts.
This isn't the first time Levefere is treating one of his riders like this though. If every 2 out of 10 (random numbers) rider on his team is a problem, and you don't hear this kind of stuff as frequently from other teams, then maybe Levefere is the problem. He is great at what he does, but he's a dick
Patrick Levefere always does this sort public character assassination whenever he wants to get rid of a rider
@@epincionyup,on point, that’s what he’s trying to do,finding a way to make him leave the team since he can’t finish his contract
You boys have great banter
Well said
Apparently Philippe Gilbert's wife got involved. There is a French speaking Belgian news article saying she commented Marion Rousse's post. To say she is dissing her would be an understatement. If what the article says is true... it's getting really ugly
Appreciating calling her title "Directrice" ;) 5:09
Man on the right losing lots of weight ! Love to see it
Lefevre feels he can sit on his high horse even though he has actively encouraged doping in the past. The fact that he’s still in the sport amazes me.
Didn't Lefevere have a dust up with Stijn Devolder? He complained he only rode one race, if I remember correctly. Devolder was with Quick Step for three years and won two monuments. (Flanders '08 and '09)
All I can focus on is Benji’s form. Patrick’s days of being a better climber are on notice
Levefere is a terrible manager, all these conversations should be private.
maybe but he's 70 years old and did make the greatest franchise in the history of the sport. people need to give him credit even if the sport is a bit backwards.
Julian Alaphilippe is an absolute legend and a total class act, and Marion Rousse is undeserving of this insult from Le Fefevre. Both Alaphilippe and Rousse are undeserving of this shit. Some Team bosses who make decisions regarding cyclists contracts should know when to shut up.
Alaphilippe 100% drinks, I've seen all the QST team having a couple glasses of wine in the Mendoza airport waiting for their flight out of the tour de san juan 2019. and I really don't think that's a big deal because he was already in unreal shape in early february, skinny to the bone and won a couple stages there too.
leferve is a hot head and he looks like he drinks a lot
head so hot his face always red af. lol
He does look bloated and drunky
Remco abnd Julian should head to the Bora red bull super team next year.
Misspelled title card
He nearly abandonned these riders a couple months ago during the whole absorption-saga with Visma and lost a couple of good members, riders and staff included ! I don't understand why he's still criticizing those who stayed, he'd better show them that he's glad they're still on his boat.
I remember a podcast with one of Alaphilippe's teammates - no point in saying who - who was asked where Alaphilippe placed form wise among all the riders at the first camp of the season. He said he would show up in the worst shape of all and ride like hell for 3 weeks to get in better shape and that it would work -- he would be at the top shape wise at the end of the training camp. But for how long can you do that and still be successful?
That pod was 3 or 4 years ago and Alaphilippe is now 31 -- does he still approach his training so amateurishly? If so, well, I get why the last couple of years have been difficult for him.
Even if this is true, it doesn't say anything. He might have stuck to base training better than the others and got dropped, because the other riders trained to race in training. Even sticking to zones in the camp could have had him grow during the weeks, while others went nuts in the hyper-competitive nature some of the more amateuristic training camps have.
@@Jeroen_K Well, the point of the story was that Alaphilippe is such a natural, physical talent that he could show up without doing the required winter training and still be a world class athlete. And it was also implied that it wasn't the first time it had happened -- that it was his way of training.
I also want to emphasise that it was said in a sort of admiration for Alaphilippe. There were no ill intentions behind it. But the hosts did wonder for how long he could keep training like that, as do I. Again, I won't mention who the teammate is or the hosts, but I believe it to be a teammate that respects Alaphilippe massively.
He does not.
Oh my, what’s the Bennett situation???? Someone, anyone
If I was a multiple world champion, and Lefevere talked about me to the press that way, I'd use every interview as an opportunity to remind the press what a temperamental child he is.
Benji v Patrick
Do a podcast in French
Let the audience decide who has the best language skills
Is that really necessary? Benji does the podcast in his second language. Patrick doesn't even know basic Italian pronounciation, even though he said he lived there during university.
Marion Rousse is great! Why, why, why attack her...if your rider isn't performing like you bought him to do? Marion Rousse is excellent and a great directrice for the biggest women's race in the world
heavy drinking, especially if its frequent, will cause hypoglycemic episodes so, you see, we all can get a cookie
Saw on X that Gilbert’s wife has piled in! #beef
I think everyone is being way too nice here. Lefevere is a bully, and not in the cute playground sense of kicking sand. Like Patrick and Benji made clear, he likely has had a private conversation with Alaphilippe. The only reason you'd air those critiques publicly is to hurt Alaphilippe and Marion and it's a shame that the rider's union isn't doing anything about this abuse.
U guys missed the comment Gilbert's wife wrote under that post.... Vompletely shaneless and petty. What in this world is going on rn 😅😢
It’s virtually impossible to fire somebody in France unless they kill another employee on instagram. It’s a lot harder to get rid of Julian Alaphilippe .
What's the point ? it's a belgium teams with a belgium contract
Just say something negative on social media about islam, africans, lgbtqfg4+ and you're out. Np
Levefere is a grumpy old man who is looking for excuses to blame alaphalippe instead of taking accountability for his riders and maybe helping him through his problems
Lefevere sounds like a nightmare to work for
When will sponsors pull plug on PL? His team may win, but he's bad for cycling and has been for a long time.....
Pat Lef is a misogynist. His repeated comments about women prove this. Julian not performing is directly related to his injuries and associated recovery and not related to Marion at all. Pat Lef has done this with a number of riders including Sam Bennett.
Alaphilippe has a strange style on the bike. No wonder is he landing on the pavement all the time.
If you've got a problem with your rider then you talk to him ,you don't attack him public ,maybe he's doing it for the sponsors, whatever its a poor showing .
Something so serious should not been talked in a funny way.
Alaphillipes washed , never getting a big contract again so might as well enjoy himself
Levefere is the typical out of touch boomer owner
Here’s where I go with this. It seems that they have a good marriage a child and great careers. Professional standpoint that’s probably not the result of a drinking problem. If they do both have real alcoholic behavior, but at a personal level you need to address that so they get help. whatever roll his confronting this at he’s wrong.
There are lots of drug issues in all sport. Whether Alaphilippe has an issue or not, this is an issue that needs more attention. Riders can get hooked on sleeping pills or alcohol as they struggle to get to sleep after the rush of a race and all the sugars and caffeine they take.
Alaphilippe has no probs. He drunk little more than others in 2022 when there were ocasions. Not after that.
yea i bet there are some sadly, but people having problema everywhere not just in cycling but I awlays wondered how they are so calm for weeks after going all out
If Patrick Lefevere is married then I blame his wife for his character faults😐
Lefevere is like Biden: completely gaga.
QST isn't even good enough anymore for Lefevere to be acting out like this
even if the pressure if off them in the spring which I agree kinda sucks, they are still pretty good bro they are just trying to shift towards a young versatile core they are still getting dubs at the tour and throughout the rest of the year
Senile old man
Levefere is weak as water
That was extremely misogynistic of Patrick. But not surprised at all.
Lol you're delusional
