Along with reruns of Green Acres, I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, Dick van Dyke, I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, Dragnet and more. Glad they had those shows on for me to experience as they're obviously all such classics.

One of Get Smart’s best. As a young kid, I remember taking Smart seriously and believing he was actually was brilliant when he said that he could trace a scent to some obscure plant in Africa or somewhere. By the time I saw the, Ironhand episode (superb acting) where Mr Ironhand’s fist comes crashing through his own desk in anger, I began to suspect something was up. Brilliant series.

Also present in this hilarious scene as Hodgkins, adding to the humor in this situation and playing it with a a half straight and half "Here we go again" face, is one of the ubiquitous TV faces of the 60s and 70s, Bryan (sometimes spelled Bryon) O'Byrne. O'Byrne it seemed, appeared on virtually every top comedy series in that time, but was also a versatile dramatic actor as well. I recall him having one of the most memorable "find the body" scenes in Perry Mason, where he was found floating in a vat of water. A great talent.

There are a bunch of 'cone of silence' clips on YT - but one has the cone badly malfunctioning and it keeps going up & down by itself - finally coming down hard and smashing the chief's desk to bits - F-in hilarious ..

With multiple US presidential administrations having issues with classified documents, wouldn't it make sense for congress to adopt the cone of silence for discussions of "top sectets"😅. Call it the Mel Brooks-Buck Henry Security Act....😅
