      He was also Courageous to be publicly out back in the 70s. Believe it or not, I looked at him and realized that I didn't have to be miserable when I grew up. He did a lot of good and saved lives, giving hope to that generation of gay teens. Priceless on bewitched too!

    I sat next to him in a veterinarians office one time and he was SO gracious and kind. He had Dandie Dinmont Terriers and we were secretly laughing at a man who looked like his schnauzer! ! Hysterical!!

It was hysterical😂🤣❣️ the vet was Dr. Verheller who was the vet all the collie and Shellie people went to for eye checks… I was with my friend who had a litter of collie puppies to have checked… it was quite an adventure!!!

      Yes, it was the 1970's and he had the luxury of NBC's wardrobe specialists to help coordinate. After all, on television, there are do's and don'ts so as not to clash with the camera. Certain patterns would cause moire patterns, weird colors and just perhaps be washed out.

    Seth MacFarlane actually claimed that the voice of Roger the alien on American Dad was modeled after the voice of Paul Lynde. Paul Lynde has an excellent speaking voice, I loved when he played Templeton in Charlotte's Web.

    My greatest memory of Paul is dancing with him at a club in Hollywood. He was surrounded by admiring men and happy wearing a hard hat.i will love and cherish him forever. Thanks for the memories indeed.

      That is totally 100 percent false. I saw an interview with Peter Marshall. He stated Paul was funny as hell but didn't have the confidence so he relied on pre written gags.

      Yes. I saw the episode the old Biography show did on Lynde and it was tragic a man with such a gift to make people land struggled with alcohol problems which increased his isolation and keeping his sexuality a secret in less acceptable times.

    Paul was one of a kind , there will never be another one like him , since he’s been gone I haven’t seen anyone like him , his talent in comedy was unmatched. RIP Paul and thank you for always making my day making me laugh when I thought it wasn’t possible.

    Having a crappy day/week/several months. Life has thrown me a big curve ball, and am feeling pretty down. Then...I listen to the genius comedy of Paul and it reminds me of watching him when Hollywood Squares first came out when I was as a kid. He's so funny...thanks Paul, for lifting my spirits today.       WOW ! I was a ballpark cryer , “ popcorn, peanuts, ice cold Pepsi ! “ in Midland TX (71-72) and Pete LaCock was playing 1st for the AAA team, the Midland Cubs.       @@FloraWest that's not exactly the case. First of all what you do you mean by material? Everybody has said the typical response that you stated here but no one can say exactly what that means. Did the showrunners come up with the comedic response that Paul Lynn gave, or did he think of those on his own because he knew what the questions were going to be for him. What exactly was going on here with Paul lynn, and how do you exactly know that for sure? Is that what Paul Lynn said? Give us an interview where he confesses that i.e. the material was supplied to him to make him funny by the showrunners. And if he did just know the questions beforehand so he could come up with his own funny answers, that really doesn't make a difference. So again, which is it exactly? If it was the former in which the showrunners provided the funny answers well then Paul Lynn will go down as the biggest farce in comedic history.

Now for me now that it is settled I really have no interest in Paul Lynn on the show the way I used to. He was just a delivery man. There's still a bit of confusion because the host here says that they didn't know the questions beforehand and yet gave Paul Lynn his comedic material. How does that go together? That's incoherent. You must know the questions beforehand plus the comedic material that goes along with it.

    I was born 1 year after Paul passed and I remember enjoying his amazing sense of humor while watching re-runs of all of those old shows with my parents. But watching him on Hollywood Squares is undoubtedly the best memory I have of his incredible talents. A true example of A King Of The 1-Liners. Still extremely funny and relatable in 2022.
