So this one is a bit of an older video, but what if you had a customer order a shirt that is different than what you have saved as a draft? How would you make the change and then push it through? Thanks so much for the help!
Sorry if the video didn't explain it well enough, so your customers order would show up in the "other orders" tab with no design attached to it at all. You would then add the design you customer order onto a shirt in Printify and then save it as a draft. Then you go back to other orders and select that new design you saved and hit fulfill order! Hope that clears it up and best of luck!
Thank you for this tutorial. I was curious how people create a personalization graphic and how to fulfill it. It was super helpful, as always. Thank you for all of your outstanding videos that are easy to follow along with.
Thank you for all your insight . You have been so very helpful . I would like to know when the order is fulfilled . Do I go back to my etsy store and click on completed order. Or do I wait for production to send the order first and then click on completed order ? ( I'm asking because I just made a personalized sale in my store and its a new process because its not automatically updated by printify ) thanks
Hi, Cassiy! Do you think you could please make an updated version of this process? It looks like the steps are a little different on both Etsy and Printify.
So to make an Etsy POD product with Printify that's 'personalized', the only way to do that is by manually creating the customer's personalized product every time?
That was the only way when I made this video but there is a tool you can pay for now called Hello Custom! It will automatically make the custom design and fulfill it for you now 🔥 Check it out if you don’t want to do it the manual way
Thanks Cassiy, very helpful - one question... under description you mention sending a proof to the buyer. How do you work that "turn-around"? Do you inform they have to respond within an amount of time? Any suggestions?
Hi Cassiy tks for the vid! You asked if there were any other topics that we would like to see. How about a design sizing video in printify and design sizing on the mocks.
Can you please show how to handle shipping? you put it as free shipping" but then how does printify calculates it as free shipping? I know they calculate taxes and shipping at the end! Please send me a video if theres one. Thank you
I have a question: is it important to start the custom listing on Etsy first and not in Printify? Is starting it on Etsy what allows you to personalize it? If you start it in Printify do you get an option before it is printed to customize it before it is printed? Thank you for your videos!!
If you watch the video carefully, she shows how to set up the listing in Etsy FIRST as there is a personalisation field feature in Etsy. Once the customer places the order then, and only then, do we go to Printify and create the personalised item. It's a bit of a commitment to do this as soon as you get an order but quite straightforward. Good luck!
I am so glad that my review was helpful to you!! I would definitely love one, not sure what I'd do with it just yet. But if you would email me a quick testimonial I would love that
Hi Cassiy! I have a question. If I create a personalized listing in Etsy (from duplicating an already existing listing), changing all of the title, tags and pictures, prices and colors, without sku numbers AND then go to Printify and create the product, WHEN and IF the product sells, when and where do I insert the sku number? In the "other orders" section? Do I need to add it in the Etsy listing? Or is it already in the Printify non published product? I hope this makes sense.,
Same question. Created everything in printify and think left it unpublished for now-I dont know if I publish to etsy then go in and add personalization on etsy though ?
Thank you Cassiy!! This video clarifies so many Qs. My video topic sugestión is group listings(mom, baby and Dady - mom and toddler… etc). I will love to have more info about it!! :)
So glad this video was helpful for you!! I do cover that in my Group listings video, here is a link to the 14 minute mark where I start talking about it. ruclips.net/video/t18osdsmJKM/видео.html , let me know If this doesn't quite clarify it and I can make a separate video
Hi Cassidy, For these customs. I think an error I made was setting up the original listing through Printify first and published to Etsy. When I got the order. It was already in production. Whoops. I now turned off the listing in Printify so I get a chance to create the item through the template first. Then it should show up in my Other Orders section in Printify. Thanks for helping me figure that out.
I also did this, but am still a bit confused with the process. Have to watch video again. I heard that I shouldn't have a SKU# in the listing. @@hdedona
All your videos are so helpful and include excellent content. I do have a questions regarding how the customized item shows in my shop. Next to the price on the landing page of the item in red it says "Only 1 available". Is that going to affect or deter customers in any way? Is there something I can do so that it does not show up in a custom order? Thanks for all you do to assist us in our business!
Great video Cassiy so many thanks. Can you also add to the personalized listing the ability for the customer to upload an image that they want printed on their t-shirt / mug / etc ? Thanks
Wonderful tutorial, thank you!! I just had my first custom group tee sale and I've been waiting for the order to complete automatically in Etsy like it usually does after Printify ships the package. Then I wondered because it's custom do I have to manually complete it myself and add the tracking? Sorry I've been trying to find this answer everywhere, no luck!
Great, thank you for this video. If I understand right, with this method you can continue to have all the other orders fulfilled automatically because you manually import the custom order via "other orders". This takes away the horror of having to manually push all the orders to fulfill. (When they hopefully come)
Yes that is exactly how it works! I have my orders go through once every 24 hours automatically, sometimes I go push them sooner but this way if someone messages me a few hours after ordering to change something then I have time to edit it before it goes into production
Cassiy, is there a way to make a group listing with two shirt colors (or even just one), where they have about 20 options for phrases to choose from in variations, but also have the option to customize (choose) their own phrase instead of picking what is offered? How is this done? This is how I see group listing variations listed when I am doing my market research. Thanks!
Hi Cassiy another very helpful informative video. I've been working really hard trying to learn as much as possible, so I appreciate your content. 😁 From Texas
Thank you so very much for this comment today Sandra, it really means so much to me that you are learning from my videos and that they are helping you to succeed
I am confused where you create a listing on Etsy first with the personalizable design, then how it’s linked to Printify and show up on Other orders tab when customers order it? And you would have to manually change the design every time right?
Yes if it's a custom design, like someones last name, then you would start in Etsy. Then the order will show up in your "other orders" tab since this is any order not fulfilled thru Printify that is made on your store. You would then make the custom design and save it to Printify as a shirt but instead of publishing to your store, you would save as a draft. Then go into the other order and select that custom design. This definitely is a time consuming thing to do but personalized orders do sell well on etsy, so you have to decide if this is something you are willing to spend the time on or not
Cassie, Thanks so much for the video! I have my Etsy and printify integration set for all orders to go to production at 5 pm daily. I have a full time job and am just starting on Etsy. When a personalized order is placed by a costumer, will it automatically go to production at 5 pm or do personalized orders go to “Other Orders” which would allow me time to get home from work and create the personalized product? Thanks!
The personalized order will go to "other orders" and you can fulfill this when it works for you! As long as it does not have SKU numbers in the listing like I showed in this one! The only time that won't be true is if they also buy another product from you that is not personalized. Then Printify will not recognize the personalized item and will just send the regular items to production and no order will show up in "other orders" I would recommend setting yours to maybe 6-7pm instead so you can always just quickly check these things before they go into production
Awesome video. This was SO helpful and made listing customized orders really easy. Your expertise and easy-to-follow guidance are wonderful. Thanks, Cassie!
I had no idea I could put up on Etsy before running it through printify first 😱 so, before I do this if I follow this exactly to the T it will be on printify in other orders because I had already selected them and put them down as my production partner and they will have the SKU correct? Ty!!
Thank you so much Cassiy! So you make the product first in ETSY, and then make it in printify? How does it link up if you do etsy first? Also, if i have other products in my store that aren't POD, does that affect if it links up or not? I am new and the first couple non custom orders i had didn't link and I'm afraid it won't work!! EEEEK!
Hi Cassidy, great video. But I do have one question. I’m still confused about the “Shipping” part on the Etsy listing. It won’t allow me to publish the listing unless I have the shipping part completed. But from my understanding, you create the designs and shipping after? Please help
Thanks I love your videos. You should make more videos on custom orders but I’ll browse your videos after this one as I need all the help I can get lol.
You have helped me so much, I got my first sale last week and am excited to try and get more! I do have a question for personalized orders can you create a template and add the SKU when you create the listing on Etsy then edit it before sending it to production once it has been purchased?
Do you customize the order from Canva by editing and then redownload to Printify? Will this affect the print quality if you edit and redownload the new order repeatedly? Thank you so much for all of your help here! ❤
Thanks for this tutorial! Do you recommend charging extra if someone just messaged you to customize a regular school shirt that's currently listed on your shop? If so, how much will it be? If it's a group order, do you charge that amount for each of the shirts ordered or is it just a one time customization fee? Thanks in advance for your help!
Thanks so much Cassiy!! I love ❤ the way you teach and break things down so well! Yet, For some reason I am still struggling. 😅 I think a written step-by-step might work with my slow brain on this one. Could you elaborate below and change where I’m incorrect if it is not too much trouble? I would so appreciate it! I’m needing to customize an item AND create a template. Is this the procedure? 1) Set Printify order to MANUAL? 2) Create listing in Printify so it can populate in Etsy: choose “hide in Etsy” and then publish. 3) Go to Etsy and finalize mock-ups, tags, titles. (I notice we don’t need to fill in weight or dimensions on PODs?) and publish your listing. 4) Order comes in. Make custom changes in Canva. Save as new custom PNG/transparent photo. 5) Place it on a new mockup to show customer (optional) and message them. 6) Go to Printify and upload new design to my library?? 7) Find draft template and locate new design to bring onto product?? 8) Please finish this part for me. THANK YOU!
Happy to help, you are definitely making it a little more complicated and I actually just recorded a new version of this video because you aren't the only one confused. I will be releasing that in two weeks I think but here is a written out version to make it simple 1. Create the listing starting on ETSY 2. Fill everything out and add your mockups that you created 3. When you can an order, create the personalized design for them 4. Go to Printify Orders, but to the "other orders" tab and find that order 5. Click select product, go to the "catalog" at the top of that selection box, select the shirt type, printing company and color you need for that order 6. Add the custom design you made 7. Click import order but DO NOT click "automatically submit similar orders in the future" because this design file will change every time. Hope this helps and makes sense! You don't need to upload anything to Printify to start with because you don't know what the design file will be yet. Best of luck!
@@CassiyJohnson Oh my goodness, I think I got it. So NO NEED to create a template ahead of time! I cannot thank you enough for that simplified version!
Excellent tutorial Cassiy! I was wondering how to offer custom orders in my shop and its integration with Printify. It does require a little manual intervention but I am sure helps with sales due to the persoanlization availability. Thanks again and keep up the awesome tips you offer in your videos.
Hi! Thanks for all your vids! So helpful. So I just had an order where the customer bought a personalized ornament AND a regular printify t shirt. How would I add the shipping separately?
Do you add more days to production time ? And how do you make a shipping profile for custom orders when charging shipping there's no option to choose other for shipping. Thanks
Hello! Thank you so much for the value!I would like to ask you, what is the best action to take if I received an order for customized sweatshirts but I need more information in order to proceed but the client doesn't reply my messages? What can I do in this case? 🙏🏼 hope you can help me
I have a few questions: 1) for our first listing post on etsy do we make a fake listing and then delete it? 2) is it important to have our first listing on etsy optimized as much as possible as in the best design,, pictures, size chart. SInce etsy's algorithm is at its best for the first listing 3) after we make our first listing how long after should we make our 2nd,3rd,4th listing at what pace?
1. Yes create a dummy listing and then delete it 2. It is important to have your listing optimized to help it's conversions, but even if your first listing sucks, it won't affect your next listing. They are ranked independently. 3. I would make new listings as often as you can in the beginning until you get comfortable and start learning how to design better, do better seo, find better niches etc. Hope that helps and good luck!!
Instead of doing a custom size, I choose the option to "edit a photo", this will size the canvas exactly to the size of your mockup! Here is a full tutorial I made on mockups! ruclips.net/video/-5rxiuu2fyM/видео.html
Hey @cassiy I have a question here @10:10 what if I started on printify first then finished my listing on ETSY? Will I still be able to send the custom item to Printify? Thanks!
You shouldn't start on Printify first for personalized orders because you don't know what the print file will be yet. If you do it that way then you will need to remember to go in and edit each of those orders and change them before they go into production! Hope that makes sense.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Can you please tell me when I import the order to Printify and send it to production I just go and message customer with shipping number and other information on Etsy?
If you do it like in this video and go to other orders and grab the order they already placed, then Printify will update the tracking number and everything for you! So you wouldn't need to do a single other thing unless you want to message them after delivery to see how it was
Thank you for sharing. Question…will the customer only pay shipping once? We add the listing to Etsy manually and set shipping but then when we set it up in printify, we also choose the shipping cost. Thank you! ❤
Yes the customers only pay once. You are the middle man for payments, the customer pays Etsy - Etsy pays you - then you pay Printify - then you keep the difference. So Printify costs come off of your credit/debit card. Here is a video I made breaking this down further and going over all start up costs you should know to expect! ruclips.net/video/0uYFmlTGh0k/видео.html
@@CassiyJohnson Thank you Cassiy 🥰 I made a test order and it’s been 24 hours and I don’t see the order in my “other orders”. Seems that there isn’t much help for this issue that I can find. I went through the steps three times and can’t figure out the hiccup. Thanks for all your helpful videos. You’re great on camera! Xo
How do you handle out-of-stock issues on Printify if you do not have the listing in their system until you receive the custom order? For example, what if someone orders a small shirt and you go to create the design in Printify and the small shirts are out of stock?
Hello custom doesn't have the option to have two designs where one is customized and the other is not yet but Stephen is working on the right now and said it should be done in the next few weeks! In the meantime, it would work just like I show in this tutorial, but when the order shows up in your other orders, you could just copy a design in Printify where you have the design on the front and then just add the custom version to the back! Hope that helps
No for custom items, you never want to add SKU's because you need to change out the item on Printify every single time. That's why we list it on Etsy instead of from Printify like normal in the first place
You can but these on Etsy for really inexpensive! Just type in “3001 size chart” or whatever brand shirt you are using and you will see lots of great options!

No useless info...straight to the point, thanks!!
I hope this is super helpful for you!! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for this tutorial. I was curious how people create a personalization graphic and how to fulfill it. It was super helpful, as always. Thank you for all of your outstanding videos that are easy to follow along with.
So glad this video was helpful for you!! Wishing you all the best!
You are the best!! After watching your video, I immediately subscribed. You explained everything brilliantly.
Wishing you all the best!
Omigosh I just asked the same question lol
Actually I just refreshed the page the order is now completed and has tracking, so that answers my question!
So you don't have to complete the order yourself, it will do it automatically and you will find it under completed orders.
I just wasn't sure if there was a difference between the custom or non-custom orders. Anyways, hope this helps!
Thankyou so much for replying 💓 Good luck with everything!!
Hi, Cassiy! Do you think you could please make an updated version of this process? It looks like the steps are a little different on both Etsy and Printify.
I'm actually releasing a newer version of this next week
Just what I needed to get started on custom products. Don't know why the custom orders make me nervous, but I've put it off long enough.
Thanks for the suggestion! You want to know how large to make your design on Printify and the mockups so its the right size once it prints?
@@CassiyJohnson yes exactly! Even the position, high/ low, and pocket prints too
@@steveo.6095 I thought about that too the pocket size logo - I never know how to size it right on printing MD.
Can you please show how to handle shipping? you put it as free shipping" but then how does printify calculates it as free shipping? I know they calculate taxes and shipping at the end! Please send me a video if theres one. Thank you
This was so helpful for my first custom order!! Thank you Cassiy. 💕
Thank you so much for this video! I was so confused on how to make custom listings until now. You made it so clear and understandable. 2:15 10/16/23
Good luck!
Thank you so much for offering incredibly informative videos without expecting anything in return. You are amazing!
You are so welcome!! I truly hope me videos are so helpful for you!!
If you ever need a testimonial about your shop reviews, my experience was fantastic and I would be glad to provide one.
I am so glad that my review was helpful to you!! I would definitely love one, not sure what I'd do with it just yet. But if you would email me a quick testimonial I would love that
My store review was awesome as well, very helpful!
@@steveo.6095 So glad you found it helpful Steve, definitely both of you keep me updated on your future success
Thank you Again Cassiy!!
How do you get a shop review?
This part of the process confuses me, too. @@KimberCatLuna
Hi Cassidy,
For these customs.
I did this too and came here to figure out how to fix it. Thank you so much for leaving this helpful comment!
Thanks
Hi, I am learning all from A to Z from your amazing videos. Just a side note, you have a typo of the word Unisex. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Ahh darn, I am always making typos lol thanks for the heads up!
Thank you so much, Cassiy. May God bless you. Do you have a black Friday off or on your classes
Cassiy, you're the Best one, you really know how to make it simple and easy to follow with :)
I really appreciate your comments Malika, thank you for all your support!!
Then Printify will not recognize the personalized item and will just send the regular items to production and no order will show up in "other orders"
I would recommend setting yours to maybe 6-7pm instead so you can always just quickly check these things before they go into production
Wow! Thanks so much for the quick response. So I should remove all SKU numbers from all personalizable listings? I guess that makes sense.
Just the video I needed. Excited to do some custom designs. Thank you!!
Yay! Thanks so much for watching!!
Hello, do you by chance have a video on how to customize mugs for Etsy?
Do you customize the order from Canva by editing and then redownload to Printify? Will this affect the print quality if you edit and redownload the new order repeatedly? Thank you so much for all of your help here! ❤
Thanks for this tutorial! Do you recommend charging extra if someone just messaged you to customize a regular school shirt that's currently listed on your shop? If so, how much will it be? If it's a group order, do you charge that amount for each of the shirts ordered or is it just a one time customization fee? Thanks in advance for your help!
Do we also need to click on the green "Fulfill Order" button right after clicking "Confirm?"
Thank you so much!!! Love & deeply appreciate all of your content and skills you share.
Hi Alyssa!! I’m so glad you’ve found my content to be valuable! I appreciate your comment! ❤️
I will be releasing that in two weeks I think but here is a written out version to make it simple
1. Create the listing starting on ETSY
2. Fill everything out and add your mockups that you created
3. When you can an order, create the personalized design for them
4. Go to Printify Orders, but to the "other orders" tab and find that order
5. Click select product, go to the "catalog" at the top of that selection box, select the shirt type, printing company and color you need for that order
6. Add the custom design you made
Thank you for creating such amazing content ❤ Just realized 5 videos later I was not subscribed 😅!! New subbbie here 👋🏾💞
Do you add more days to production time ? And how do you make a shipping profile for custom orders when charging shipping there's no option to choose other for shipping.
Thanks
Hello! Thank you so much for the value!I would like to ask you, what is the best action to take if I received an order for customized sweatshirts but I need more information in order to proceed but the client doesn't reply my messages? What can I do in this case? 🙏🏼 hope you can help me
I have a few questions:
1) for our first listing post on etsy do we make a fake listing and then delete it?
2) is it important to have our first listing on etsy optimized as much as possible as in the best design,, pictures, size chart. SInce etsy's algorithm is at its best for the first listing
3) after we make our first listing how long after should we make our 2nd,3rd,4th listing at what pace?
1. Yes create a dummy listing and then delete it
Very helpful and detailed tutorial for beginner like me. Thank you so so so much Cassiy! 💝💝💝
So glad this was helpful for you!! And congrats on getting started!!
Hi Cassiy as usual great video.Which custom size you picked for the mock up and create design let me know.Thank you so much.Keep doing good work .
Instead of doing a custom size, I choose the option to "edit a photo", this will size the canvas exactly to the size of your mockup! Here is a full tutorial I made on mockups! ruclips.net/video/-5rxiuu2fyM/видео.html
Thanks for a great video. For the custom listing, you don’t create it on printify first? Thanks
Should you add Printify's SKU number when entering the product into Etsy?
Hey @cassiy I have a question here @10:10 what if I started on printify first then finished my listing on ETSY? Will I still be able to send the custom item to Printify? Thanks!
You shouldn't start on Printify first for personalized orders because you don't know what the print file will be yet. If you do it that way then you will need to remember to go in and edit each of those orders and change them before they go into production! Hope that makes sense.
So when a customer places an order, do you make the custom design they requested through canva and do what from there ?
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Can you please tell me when I import the order to Printify and send it to production I just go and message customer with shipping number and other information on Etsy?
If you do it like in this video and go to other orders and grab the order they already placed, then Printify will update the tracking number and everything for you! So you wouldn't need to do a single other thing unless you want to message them after delivery to see how it was
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻❤️
There will never be a time that every small shirt will be out of stock, you just may need to use a different print provider for that listing!
Hi Cassiy, Thank you for your help. How do you cancel the shipping cost in Printify to offer free shipping? Thanks
Cassiy you are a great teacher, thank you! Do you post the items on printify too, or just save the draft there? I am still not clear on that part.
Hi Pamela! Yes, I just save it as a draft on Printify, then use the draft to fulfill the order. :) Thanks for watching!!
I will love if you can show how you get the details of what they what on their product
How do put a personalized on back of shirt, there a design on the front. How did I do it with Hello Custom?
Hello custom doesn't have the option to have two designs where one is customized and the other is not yet but Stephen is working on the right now and said it should be done in the next few weeks! In the meantime, it would work just like I show in this tutorial, but when the order shows up in your other orders, you could just copy a design in Printify where you have the design on the front and then just add the custom version to the back! Hope that helps
Please can you go through the process of adding SKU? Do we have to?
No for custom items, you never want to add SKU's because you need to change out the item on Printify every single time. That's why we list it on Etsy instead of from Printify like normal in the first place
Thank you! This was really helpful! My question, I have an item they want 15 of, and each will be personalized. How do I handle that?
Thank you so much for creating this channel. I truly appreciate it!
Thank you so much for this. Where do I get the size chart from or do I create my own?
You can but these on Etsy for really inexpensive! Just type in “3001 size chart” or whatever brand shirt you are using and you will see lots of great options!
