People were saying it was oversaturated when I started 2 years ago too, trust me there is room for everyone! Etsy is going to do over 2 Billion in sales this year and will have over 96 MILLION customers! And that number is just growing every day. They are even about to take over Ebay in revenue for the year! This is such a crazy cool opportunity. It would be like getting on Amazon 10 years ago. Yes you won't make millions selling generic "Be Kind" or "merry Christmas" shirts. You need to find more unique niches and make cool unique designs for the search results your in so you don't just look like everyone else but trust me, you will make money at this if you just take the time to learn it and be patient. Literally I would recommend just not waiting! Follow these steps and at least open your store today, open Printify today and connect them. It's free and then if you decide to start listing, then just do your first 40 free ones! You have nothing to lose and literally everything to gain. The next year of your life will pass either way. Might as well have something really cool you are building to show for it that could totally change your life! I would never have imagined 2.5 years ago that me and my husband would get to be home together full time with our teenager and dogs. We get to go on vacations whenever we want, hang out with our friends whenever we want, and have been able to build multiple streams of income as well because of the time we have back. But it only happened because I watched 1 RUclips video about POD and started literally the next day and then never gave up!

If you copy a listing on Etsy, it will just connect it to the original one Printify listing. No need to have multiples on Printify if that makes sense. You just need the one Printify listing and then all of the Etsy listings link to the same one

If using google pics make sure to filter them and select a usage right like, “comercial and other licenses.” If not your account might get banned from copyright.

@@CassiyJohnson It was, if done right, can be a life changer. A way out of an unfulfilling job and life. So glad you cover all the details, including the tax information, that's a big one. For most people moving over from simple W2, there is a lot that goes into it. Other recommended topic would be Health insurance and 401k alternatives to save for retirement. Hi Cassiy, I love your content! I'm following with this video and it seems the setup has changed a little bit. I don't have the shipping section, just Delivery. so the options a little different and it's requiring and origin post code and package dimensions. Have you seen that lately & what do you recommend to put there for POD items?
This is just the first listing Etsy makes you create that you then have to delete. You will be starting all of your listings in printify after this step. Hello! I’m not sure if I did something wrong but the link did not work as it should and there were no free listings. I think it was because it still recognized I had an account on Etsy for shopping. Even though I used a new gmail account it must’ve sensed my other account I have shopped with. Thank you nevertheless! I’m in the middle of trying to set it up. 🙌🏼🤞🏼

I like to sell lots of different product types in one store but for something like digital downloads, I may consider creating a separate store for that depending on what they are. But if you aren't sure what you want to focus on yet, I would just sell them in one store to see what sells best and what you enjoy creating and then focus mainly on that one product type!

I’d like to transfer my current etsy shop to printify and have some items made by printify and some I will continue making them myself. What is the best way to make this transfer? I know you suggest making the listings on Printify. But I’d like to transfer my already existing listings on etsy to printify. Hope that makes sense. Thanks
Yes that makes sense! Once you connect your store, you will see the orders for items not originally connected to printify, show up in your “other orders” tab. Here you click on the second tab on the top to create a product, add it to the item you want to sell them, add the design and then fulfill it! Or you can add the design to printify like you are going to list it but then save as a draft instead of publishing it. Then copy and paste the SKU numbers on printify into Etsy so now they will fulfill them when you get orders. Hope that helps!!
My brain is hurting from trying to figure out Etsy shipping... as a newbie, do you offer free shipping, and if you do, do you have to make sure it's for the continental US only? or do you end up neck deep in international shipping charges? It's just confusing to me. And how do you know the weight and measurements of the packaged product? Etsy asks all these things when you're trying to get a listing published, and it seems to take so long to google around trying to find answers, like the zip code it's shipped from. Cassiy, I am working my way through the wonderful program but on #6 where you say to press the "Make a new design" button and go to EDIT PHOTO....but there IS NO EDIT PHOTO!! Only custom size or import file????? I"m right here trying to get my products loaded and I'm stuck!!! Btw, thanks for this great program!!!! My etsy store is online! Now I need my products!
Sorry they had an update since I made that, here is the new way! 1. Create a design 2. Import a file (at the bottom where the add an image button used to be) 3. Click the image you want to add 4. Click "use in a new design" 5. Select "Custom size" at the top 6. It should auto populate the size and you just click "create new design"
Does anyone know if there’s a way to not put your personal address on the contact details during the setup process in Printify? Don’t really want my address on invoices.
Those invoices are your invoices, not the customers. So every month Printify will give you an invoice saying how much you paid total to Prettify that month. Sorry if that wasn't more clear in the video!
Good video, I'm starting from scratch so clear something up for me. If Etsy pays you first and put money in your account, you can use that money to pay printify and shipping costs and keep the balance. Is that correct?
Not exactly, in the beginning you will be on Payment reserves and only get paid once per week. After selling on Etsy for 90 days, you can change this to being paid daily, but even then you get paid the next day. When you get an order, you need to pay Printify before they start making the item, so typically that is the same day as the order. So there is always a slight lag on you paying Printify and then Etsy paying you. Thank you so much for this setup help! I followed all the steps to setup my account and as soon as I finished, I got a notice at the top saying my account was suspended 😞 It's a brand new account and they didn't send an email with a reason. I was trying to get my store opened in the next three days so Im feeling a bit defeated. Have you or anyone else in the comments had this issue? I have emailed them but a response will likely take days and Etsy has no chat option or phone number to call that I have found. Any guidance would be so appreciated! Until then I'll just design my products in hopes that the suspension be lifted soon and I can sell!
I meant to mention that this might happen to some people in the video but I forgot, so sorry! Same thing happened to me, it happens a lot unfortunately. Just email them an then check back everyday if you can login because usually they don’t email you back, they just reopen your account. In the meantime just keep designing and getting ready! Maybe go back and watch my Branding tutorial as well and design your logo and banner so that ready to go when you get your shop back!

Hey Cassy. When trying to publish the listing on etsy, I keep getting an error stating I need to fill out all fields. At the bottom it says to fix Inventory to publish. I've watched your tutorials multiple times, and believe I followed your instructions to the letter. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Thanks so much for your content! Can you use a credit card to pay Printify and a separate bank card to receive payments on Etsy? Does Etsy pay you immediately for the sale, so that there is revenue to pay Printify since you have to pay printify before they print/ship the product?

They do this to a lot of shops because you get flagged as spam but just email them and they will give your shop back in no time! They likely won't email you to let you know its back though, so just keep trying to login again once per day. Don't get discouraged, I had this happen as well and it all turned out fine!

Yes I also have a mockup store where I sell digital downloads of photos for purchase. It's called StopMockAndRoll on Etsy. But my main Etsy shop is selling Print on Demand T-shirts and Sweatshirts!

Not an expert on Etsy, but have experience with studying copyright law so I could speed up my own design processes with royalty free assets. If it’s a digital product, it’s seems business standard for the Creative Commons license to be listed on the products page/product info/or even the product name itself. Can’t remember all the licensing types names, but the one you want is a type of commercial use license. It lets you resell the design on anything and everything except reselling it as a design for others to use. What you don’t want is a individual commons license which only let’s you use the design for your own personal use. (Printing business cards with the design, making posters for your walls, printing clothes just for yourself, a background for your blog, etc.) I’m pulling a lot of this from memory, so do your own research, but I hope this helped a little bit; long story short, check the creative Commons license when buying digital

Hey! Happy to help, I’d recommend getting started with even just one then work on creating a few consistently each day! Getting eventually up to 500-1000 should be the goal in my opinion but not just to have more but to learn and grow and get a little better overtime. Best of luck!

Can you create your listing on Printify and save as a draft and not publish to your Etsy store and then create your listing on Etsy and just copy and paste the SKUs from your printify draft listing? I created three listings on Etsy doing this and just copying and pasting the SKUs from Printify but I don’t know if that is right or not 🤔
You can do this just fine but unless it's group shirts where you have multiple shirt types, this really is not necessary! I would just list things from Printify to save time so the SKU's are already there. However you want to get to the end result of having a listing where the sku is connected to the correct design in Printify if fine!
My account got suspended a day after opening cause I forgot to delete the dummy listing 😩 I’m going to file an appeal now, is it normal for this to happen? I hope I get my account back

It’s not completely free, you are the middle man for all of the payments and need to pay for the product to get made from Printify before Etsy will pay you what the customer paid minus Etsy fees!

Great video for getting started. However, when I followed along in Etsy and in Printify, it looks like their menus have changed, so I had to pause a few times to get my bearings. I know this video is a year old, but you might want to edit a new intro to let folks know that Printify and Etsy have changed their settings and menus, so not everything is going to match up to what you are showing.

I know you're busy, but hoping you can offer a solution - I'm new to Etsy, when setting up my account, I get to the 'How you'll get paid' page and I keep getting a red pop-up that says 'We are unable to save your details at this time. Please try again later' - my details are not incorrect, but it's stopping me from going any further? Have emailed Etsy, numerous times, they just send back a useless generic email that does not even address the issue - any suggestions?
Hi Cassiy, I love your content! I'm following with this video and it seems the setup has changed a little bit. I don't have the shipping section, just Delivery. so the options a little different and it's requiring and origin post code and package dimensions. Have you seen that lately & what do you recommend to put there for POD items?
This is just the first listing Etsy makes you create that you then have to delete. You will be starting all of your listings in printify after this step. Hello! I’m not sure if I did something wrong but the link did not work as it should and there were no free listings. I think it was because it still recognized I had an account on Etsy for shopping. Do I need to open another store for a different product? Tshirt or mugs or digital downloads
I like to sell lots of different product types in one store but for something like digital downloads, I may consider creating a separate store for that depending on what they are. But if you aren't sure what you want to focus on yet, I would just sell them in one store to see what sells best and what you enjoy creating and then focus mainly on that one product type!

I’d like to transfer my current etsy shop to printify and have some items made by printify and some I will continue making them myself. What is the best way to make this transfer? I know you suggest making the listings on Printify. But I’d like to transfer my already existing listings on etsy to printify. Hope that makes sense. Thanks
Yes that makes sense! Once you connect your store, you will see the orders for items not originally connected to printify, show up in your “other orders” tab. Here you click on the second tab on the top to create a product, add it to the item you want to sell them, add the design and then fulfill it! Or you can add the design to printify like you are going to list it but then save as a draft instead of publishing it. Then copy and paste the SKU numbers on printify into Etsy so now they will fulfill them when you get orders. Hope that helps!!
Hi does it matter which country I choose for my shop? For e.g. if I live in Singapore, what's the implication if I choose US as my shop location?
My brain is hurting from trying to figure out Etsy shipping... as a newbie, do you offer free shipping, and if you do, do you have to make sure it's for the continental US only? or do you end up neck deep in international shipping charges? It's just confusing to me. And how do you know the weight and measurements of the packaged product? Etsy asks all these things when you're trying to get a listing published, and it seems to take so long to google around trying to find answers, like the zip code it's shipped from. Sorry they had an update since I made that, here is the new way!
1. Create a design
2. Import a file (at the bottom where the add an image button used to be)
3. Click the image you want to add
4. Click "use in a new design"
5. Select "Custom size" at the top
6. It should auto populate the size and you just click "create new design"

Does anyone know if there’s a way to not put your personal address on the contact details during the setup process in Printify? Don’t really want my address on invoices.
Those invoices are your invoices, not the customers. So every month Printify will give you an invoice saying how much you paid total to Prettify that month. Sorry if that wasn't more clear in the video!
Good video, I'm starting from scratch so clear something up for me. If Etsy pays you first and put money in your account, you can use that money to pay printify and shipping costs and keep the balance. Is that correct?
Not exactly, in the beginning you will be on Payment reserves and only get paid once per week. After selling on Etsy for 90 days, you can change this to being paid daily, but even then you get paid the next day.
When you get an order, you need to pay Printify before they start making the item, so typically that is the same day as the order.
So there is always a slight lag on you paying Printify and then Etsy paying you.

Thank you so much for this setup help! I followed all the steps to setup my account and as soon as I finished, I got a notice at the top saying my account was suspended 😞 It's a brand new account and they didn't send an email with a reason. I was trying to get my store opened in the next three days so Im feeling a bit defeated. Have you or anyone else in the comments had this issue? I have emailed them but a response will likely take days and Etsy has no chat option or phone number to call that I have found. Any guidance would be so appreciated! Until then I'll just design my products in hopes that the suspension be lifted soon and I can sell!
I meant to mention that this might happen to some people in the video but I forgot, so sorry! Same thing happened to me, it happens a lot unfortunately. Just email them an then check back everyday if you can login because usually they don’t email you back, they just reopen your account.
In the meantime just keep designing and getting ready! Maybe go back and watch my Branding tutorial as well and design your logo and banner so that ready to go when you get your shop back!

Thanks so much for your content! Can you use a credit card to pay Printify and a separate bank card to receive payments on Etsy? Does Etsy pay you immediately for the sale, so that there is revenue to pay Printify since you have to pay printify before they print/ship the product?

Quick question, I followed the steps to opening my Etsy and printify shop, but just the next day my account was suspended, I deleted the mock listing, was I not suppose to delete it until I had another listing? I’m totally new to this lol everything else seems ok, I didn’t get an explanation as to why they suspended it. Thanks again for all your help!
They do this to a lot of shops because you get flagged as spam but just email them and they will give your shop back in no time! They likely won't email you to let you know its back though, so just keep trying to login again once per day. Don't get discouraged, I had this happen as well and it all turned out fine!

Yes I also have a mockup store where I sell digital downloads of photos for purchase. It's called StopMockAndRoll on Etsy. But my main Etsy shop is selling Print on Demand T-shirts and Sweatshirts!

Not an expert on Etsy, but have experience with studying copyright law so I could speed up my own design processes with royalty free assets.
If it’s a digital product, it’s seems business standard for the Creative Commons license to be listed on the products page/product info/or even the product name itself.
Can’t remember all the licensing types names, but the one you want is a type of commercial use license. It lets you resell the design on anything and everything except reselling it as a design for others to use.
What you don’t want is a individual commons license which only let’s you use the design for your own personal use. (Printing business cards with the design, making posters for your walls, printing clothes just for yourself, a background for your blog, etc.)
I’m pulling a lot of this from memory, so do your own research, but I hope this helped a little bit; long story short, check the creative Commons license when buying digital

Hey! Happy to help, I’d recommend getting started with even just one then work on creating a few consistently each day! Getting eventually up to 500-1000 should be the goal in my opinion but not just to have more but to learn and grow and get a little better overtime. Best of luck!

I have a quick question though! Can you create your listing on Printify and save as a draft and not publish to your Etsy store and then create your listing on Etsy and just copy and paste the SKUs from your printify draft listing? I created three listings on Etsy doing this and just copying and pasting the SKUs from Printify but I don’t know if that is right or not 🤔
You can do this just fine but unless it's group shirts where you have multiple shirt types, this really is not necessary! I would just list things from Printify to save time so the SKU's are already there.
However you want to get to the end result of having a listing where the sku is connected to the correct design in Printify if fine!

It’s not completely free, you are the middle man for all of the payments and need to pay for the product to get made from Printify before Etsy will pay you what the customer paid minus Etsy fees!

Great video for getting started. However, when I followed along in Etsy and in Printify, it looks like their menus have changed, so I had to pause a few times to get my bearings. I know this video is a year old, but you might want to edit a new intro to let folks know that Printify and Etsy have changed their settings and menus, so not everything is going to match up to what you are showing.
