Great information as always! I’m very new to this. I’ve had my shop open since January. I’ve made 2 sales but she is my coworker friend. With pricing, I have figured out, with running sales, what my profit should be. I will be purchasing your cost analysis sheet. When it comes to pricing there is one shop who is selling their shirts, with their sale, $7.95. That is way below my cost. It does hurt a little but I know I have to make my designs better.
Ok thank you for sharing, so how do we check the trademark on graphics like the celestial ones? I know how to check the words and phrases but not that?
You should do a video on shipping options! I got an email about the different options offered by printify. Also just weighing the pros and cons of free shipping vs not would be helpful.

Yes it's hard sometimes to tell how big it will actually be, I try to just base it off of the dimensions when adding the design
Cassiy, do you have any thoughts or shortcuts when it comes to the new Printify Etsy pricing for a shop that also has a Shopify Printify store? Seems the Shopify pricing stayed the same, but Etsy is all jacked up. Having to manually match prices for the two stores is going to be tedious and unfortunate. Am I missing something? Thanks

The graphics that we download from Creative Fabrica, can we sell those directly to our Etsy or do they all need to be edited in some way?
Hello Cassiy, how do you price your group shirts in a listing? Individually and/or buy two add a discount in or offer a code? Buy 3 offer a higher discount? No codes and just offer a discount over a certain amount spent? No bundles at all?

I am soooo glad I watched this video. I use both printify and printful. I wanted to try out one CC shirt on Printify and I uploaded my Picture and filled the whole design space with it. 😂. I just went in and changed that. I believe on printful they only let you put your graphics in a 12x16 area? Do I didn’t even think about it on printify! 😆
Hi Cassiy! Great content as always. Summer is for swimming and bathing! How did you end up estimating the $6000 lost number? Are you sure you would have sold just as many even with a price increase (and other factors like losing visibility and traction from fewer sales etc).
Swimming is a great one! I estimated the 6k just based off of the profit percentage that I made the previous year of 29% instead of 23%. You're right, it may not have been exact but I am sure that I would have made at LEAST a few thousand more if not the full 6k if I had just raised my prices! When you have an items selling 100's of times, a $3 price difference doesn't change the conversion rate much if at all especially if you really added value and created something unique so people aren't just comparing on price vs price.

love this video! you are so helpful .The first thing that comes to mind when you say you made 70,000 is omg ! I could never have the amount of money on hand to send that many to production right now.i would have to save for like a year first.i'm kinda scared to have anything sell a lot or make to many listings in case I get a lot of orders and can't afford to do them. Can you do a video on how to make that work when starting with little funds to start?I know you touched on start up costs once and u said about 200 bucks but even 1000 would not cover that amount of sales .ty :)
Back then Etsy would pay new accounts every day still. Now I think it's every week. So honestly don't worry about it because chances are your sales will not be too much for 7 days before you get a payout back. My first Q4 I took a loan to help and just paid it back the next month
Can you talked about how etsy is changing and how you are doing after 4 years on etsy
On your profit-expenses document, is there a place to put refunds and cancellations? I've only had 21 sales, but two quality productions from Printify (Gilden 5000 tees) which means two full refunds from me and some reimbursement from both Printify and Etsy.
Also, I was going to purchase your expense report spreadsheet document and wanted to be sure to account for this. Also, I want to check out your mockups, hopefully there's some for men because most of my designs tend to be more masculine.

Interesting - so with the flat fee Shutterstock images on Printify, those would have to be edited in some way before being put on Etsy? I feel like printify should notify users of that.

@@CassiyJohnson Can u do a tutorial on why tshirt sizes aren't (or the reason(s) why) they are not showing-up in the Etsy listing? My updated prices aren't taking effect either. I know it's something to do w/what Im doing or not doing on Printify. Plus, I don't know how many others aren't able to get results with posting using the Etsy "new version" but I and others have to use the "old version" in order to post our listings (the new version doesn't allow you to choose categories--for some users.). Im about dome trying to get this off the ground....Ugh! Thanks :)

Hey Cassiy, thank you for the info and actually showing us your designs! I have a question...I just bought an image on Etsy for the first time and used it as is. How much do I have to change the design to be safe?
I don’t know if there is an exact right amount that you’d need to change. They just want unique items so do your best to make designs in the spirit of that. And keep in mind that people can steal designs and then sell them to you, that’s the danger in buying premade designs. I got a copyright infringement once for that when I was buying designs and posting them!

This can depend on a few things, some people like to do free shipping on group orders to make it easier or just only charge like $2 shipping for any additional items or something. I always like to go find similar listings and add their stuff to my cart to see how they have it set up! You can even set up a coupon code for your shop that gives them free shipping if they buy X amount of items for example.

Famous quotes and things don't fall into the "public domain" until 100 years typically!
I got upset because Etsy took down my shop. I didn't violate any rules. I have since gotten it back but that makes me nervous to put more effort, let's see what I decide to do.
I had the same thing happen when I first opened my shop in 2020, my shop was closed for a month before I finally got it back. I never had any issues like that again! So I'd say if you are excited to try POD then I'd at least give it a shot but I totally get your feelings! There are always other options like having your own Shopify website that you promote on social media or Amazon Merch On Demand. Etsy is what has worked for me personally but they do give a lot of sellers a bad taste in their mouth because of their poor communication. Best of luck on your journey either way!
So if i purchased designs on creative fabrica, I can't just put those images on a shirt through printify and link it to an etsy shop?
Right exactly, Etsy's terms of service state that if you are using a production partner then you need to have a hand in the design process
@CassiyJohnson Does this only apply to Etsy? If I use printify with creative fabrica designs, could I sell on other platforms, like shopify?
@@L0uLaBear Yes you should be fine to sell premade designs on other platforms unless they have similar policies. As long as the item on CF gives you full commercial rights to it as well. BUT I will warn you that sometimes people steal designs and sell them on CF so I personally just would still make my own designs or at least edit them some to make them my own. Just look through the whole store for that seller on CF and make sure it looks like they are actually making them themselves!

I bought this expense doc but being a Uk seller I think there are differences in costs will there be a Uk version I could get instead please ?
For the Etsy fees, you can easily update to I believe the 4% fees that the UK has, you just will go to the last page of the doc and change that fee and then go to the profit calculator and change that on the table on the right as well! Now there may be other fees like VAT fees that won't be factored in though but I'll be honest I really don't even know how to account for those! Feel free to email me if you have questions about the doc as well!

Is your Income Sheet compatible for Canadian Sellers?
The google sheets document is in USD, so you would just need to know how to convert it to CAD if you wanted it in your own currency instead. I think it's simple but I bet you could watch a YT tutorial. You may also need to change the Etsy fees if it's different in Canada but there is a super simple table to change the numbers on the doc.

I love your videos I open up an Etsy account like a month ago and I been watching so many videos but I don't know what happen to me that its always so hard for me to learn things I really want God to help me and open my mind for me to get all the information so I can start doing POD . I am a mom of 3 who wants to be able to be my own boss and be there for my kids as much as possible ❤
Hey this is a TON of stuff to learn to get successful at POD, you are seriously not alone in feeling overwhelmed. Just go into it with kindness for yourself and curiosity ❤️ for some people they pick it up right away and for other they try it on and off for a year before getting it. I’d say if you could just make a goal of getting your shop open and then making just ONE new listing every single day, that will help you a ton!

You can use designs from there but I wouldn't just download any and upload it right to Etsy, you need to edit it to add words, other graphics etc to make it unique.

This can change sometimes depending on what the one word is, something super basic like "mom" you should be fine. The best way to check is if that word is in other trademarks, then you should be good to use it in your saying. But if it's not trademarked for anything else, then that tells you it probably got denied! Like "Apple" is used in a lot of other trademarked companies for example so you could likely use that in a sentence.

The biggest mistake is never sharing your Etsy shop link or any of your guests. That would be clear evidence of how print on demand apparently works. But I’ve never seen anybody show evidence it does
I totally get your thought process here but it's just not a good idea to share any specific Etsy shop when you have as many subs as I do. I try not to even show any specific listings because one listing getting thousands of views and no sales is really bad for it and then lots of people with no integrity just rip it off.
But the proof is right there on Etsy for you, you don't have to take my word for it or anyone else on RUclips. Just spend an hour or two looking through Etsy shops that have opened in the last year or two and you will find lots of shops finding success! I have this channel to help you with some of the smaller details and to avoid mistakes that I've made along the way. If you aren't willing to do some of the work for yourself and some of the research for yourself then it's not going to be an easy road.
@@CassiyJohnson thanks for the reply. But I think making videos without any actual proof is just a way for you to drive views to your RUclips. You could quite easily share your shop and gain thousands of extra sales. But I am very sceptical when all the videos I see never show actual evidence. I’ve made thousands of sales on Etsy, but not through drop shipping. The profit margins are too small to justify doing it.
