The tile plow is in the shop, and we are starting on its repair.

Thats a man in his element right there.. Aaron is a hell of a cutter/welder
I envy his steady hand when torching freehand...he cuts as neat as me, though i cheat with an angle iron as guide ! 😅
Yes, he's good and you can pick up a trick or two watching him.
I also really enjoy watching IC Weld and Cutting Edge Engineering.
They fix heavy machinery.
Really good guys.
@@kevinrice2721 Aaron had a CEE T-shirt on a while back, he said a viewer had sent it in.
Considering the tensile and torsional stress that thing has been subjected to, I'd say it held up pretty well.
I would have said that if that big rock he moved on the first pass didn’t break it, nothing would. I would have been wrong. There is a distinct mechanical disadvantage built into any machine asked to do what they’re doing. It needs to be over-engineered about 300%. I believe that’s what they’re working on right now. 🤠👍
Yea, but it broke!
@@mikelecompte4737 - Uhm yeah. I said it broke. On the first go, they engineered it to what they believed to be 100% strong enough. Then it broke. In fixing it, they will engineer it to be 3x as strong as the original. Then it won’t break unless Mike thinks that’s his license to plow in high gear with throttle wide open. 🤠
@@joeromanak8797 thats what hes already doing: The 850J is pretty maxed out, hp wise, pulling that wide shank.
Aaron is without a doubt one of the best people to work with. His answer for a lot of things is yeah. Not much arguing and great fun! I enjoy watching you two go through these rough times and good times. What great content and it helps those of us that don’t understand how the work gets done the real world gets built.
Even though you ACT casual, on a job like this I LOVE how exacting you and Aaron are about your measurements. My uncle used to say, 'I'm lazy. I only want to build it once!'
In my opinion, I think the roadbed you were trying to plow through was too tough for it. Maybe cutting through with the 130/210 then plowing in the field would have been easier on it?. Just a thought. Still, 2 years of plowing with no issues doesn't sound like a design flaw, just a first edition😊. Great videos boys!!. God bless and have a merry Christmas
Hindsight is 2020 lol I wonder the same thing but this man does it for a living and I am just an armchair quarterback
Go back and watch the plowing video at 6:50. He hits a stump then rips a huge bolder in half.
He even told himself "That road is packed.". The trackhoe was there and then he did it again at full depth. @@jcadult101
EXACTLY!
No sir pipe will never survive
I would be worried to see the damage, but I don't have Aaron on the team. 😁
Really cool to see Aaron in his element! He focused on the task and bore down.
Nice to see you two supporting each other!
Job well done guys…
I would suggest you preheat this heavy plate before you do your welding . Also i would taper the metal to be welded and make a deep v for the weld to be all the way through when finished. Much stronger than a but weld.
EXCELLENT suggestion and I hope DP takes this on board and makes a MUST DO PLAN
You're right, but this all happened months ago.
Aaron is a boiler maker. I dont think he works like this when hes on the job which will need to pass inspection. He just adapts his work method to customer expectation 😉
In hindsight it was not you that broke your tile plow it was the guys that built the road with them there large rocks
Exactly
They where the straw that broke the Camel’s Back 😊
Got to say they don't build county roads like that anymore betcha some ol timer laid heavy rock All around that pipe and is laughing right now
@@Jerry-bd2zs- We’ve all done it. You bury them big gornicks in the nearest low spot and think, man do I ever feel sorry for the poor schlubb that has the dig here next time. 🤠
@@joeromanak8797 your absolutely right I did township road maintenance for 3 years I always peeled them out with the grader then I'd have to find dirt to fix the hole what a pain
Mike It's good to have Aaron with his welding skills to rebuild the tile better than before and make Farmer Chris smile before the rain comes.
Great video! Takes me back to my days on the farm and all the repairs and fabrication I had to do. I miss those days! Yours is one of the top channels of its kind in RUclips!
I totally understand your process of installing the plates. I would have suggested laying the plates down inside to inside and installed the bushings and welded them, using the pins as alignment to each other. Then cut 4 pieces of material, equal length to tack weld inside as spacers. Then when you picked it up to weld onto the machine it’s already square within itself and just needs squared to the machine.
Aaron is an absolute master with that torch. His welding skills ain't bad either. Lmao 🤣😂
Keep it up guys can't wait to see that plow back in the field working
It's a good thing this happened when you get it done you'll be ready for even more business, God Bless you.
DP, You are a very blessed man to have the great people you have in your company!! It seems like that they are always willing to go the extra mile. Great videos and I know that between you and "Man Behind The Seen" the plow will be back in the fields soon!!!
It's good to have an Aaron in your stable of friends and coworkers. Great job.
I knew it was going to be great content! I'm hoping the cost of that metal will be reimbursed in no time. That could not have been cheap! I really enjoy watching you and Aaron work together.
Aaron is extremely good with the torch. Cutting straight lines is very hard.
I love the chemistry between you two. Enjoyable to watch.
Awesome video! Aaron, the mighty welder. DP, you two have a great working relationship! Thank you for sharing! 👌
Nice job of getting everything cleaned up and reasoning out the rebuild and reinforcing some weak spots. A Note worthy clean up job on the lathe young man. Nice job on the torch Aaron, there were some tough areas to cut into. Looking forward to the finish and seeing the plow in the ground again, thanks for the update.
Blades the glasses. Aviators are the pilot glasses. I was waiting all day to get home from work to watch this episode. My favorite RUclips channel 👍🇺🇸. Good work
I more than enjoyed watching this video!
I am not a fabricator by any means, but there are times that I have to do some "farmer welding" and I am always watching for those little "tips and tricks".
Aaron is damn good at what he does, and BOTH of you are to be praised for your "Get er' done" attitude and work ethic!
Way to go guys, and cannot wait to see this completed!!!
You guys are a great team Mike you need to give him a big Christmas bonus your favorite welder has saved your day again.
Dang, that's a bummer that the tile plow snapped. Well, you guys seem to be on track to making it all good again. Sorry you had to go through that but that tile plow is a main money maker for what you do to help drain fields. I never even knew of tiling a field until joining your channel and watching you guys go at it on farmer Chris' farmland. The main thing is that no one was hurt during the tile plow catastrophe. Enjoyed watching your approach to fix the problem. I hope it works out well and gets you through 10 to 12 more years without needing an overhaul. I truly enjoy watching you two work so well together and having fun while working. Hmm, Aaron's steak dinner sounds dang good right about now. Guys, if I don't get to comment before Christmas, I wish both you and your families, a very Merry Christmas. 🎄🎅 Be safe in your travels. 👍🏽🤠 12/11/23
funny how things always seem to be more straight forward the second time around. The fact that it was built in house really makes things better timewise and also the fact the metal suppliers has CAD prints saved for this part . Looking forward to the finish product ! farmer Chris is hoping so also
Great demonstration of teamwork. Looking forward to seeing the continued progress as you work your way back to the job left on hold. Really nice on how Arron was able to cut the old section out and help you fit the new section in place. Wishing you, Arron and your families the best. 😊
I was just out in my own shop, trying to cut apart some 1/2" steel plate with the oxy torch (something I haven't done in quite a while) and getting frustrated because the pieces kept wielding themselves back together from the slag when I saw this video had dropped. I decided to take a break and what do I find? MBTS giving a perfect demonstration of what I had been doing wrong!! Let me know what I owe in tuition and I'll get it in the mail pronto!! Thanks for another excellent, entertaining and educational video!
Looks like big improvements from lessons learned ..sometimes a failure like this leads to the best version yet.
Fire is an excellent degreaser. Somewhat unpredictable, but very effective.
Aaron is all business when it comes to cutting and welding
Mike and Aaron another amazing day in the shop! You two can build anything when you put your minds to it! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
I love how well you guys work together. I wish I had a best friend like that 😢
Being I worked in a machine shop and fabrication shop, I’ve had the machinist machine a shoulder on a piece of shaft and thread the ends with nuts to hold the dimensions between the two plates! Like a hold spacer! Good luck guys
Thanks for breaking it. Now we all get to see the build and workings of the better and upgraded plow version 2 !!! 😂👍
Version 2.0 would indicate the construction of a new tile plow. However since this is repair with updated/upgraded parts and pieces this is more like version 1.2 or maybe 1.3 😁
Have a good day and a better tomorrow
Nice job guys, Arron is a tremendous asset to you. One day down and you're well on your way toward restoration. Best of luck
Excellent use of Timelapse! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Always an enjoyable episode to watch when it's a shop day episode.
Really, all DP episodes are but shop days add in a little more comedy when Arron is around.
New plow modification should definitely hold up to the pulling stress.
Can't wait to see what else Mike does to reinforce the plow horizontal crossways and vertically.
I am always impressed by your ingenuity and teamwork. Watching you guys work together reminds me of my Dad and his buddies helping each other out farming in Wisconsin.
Sometimes, you just have to back up and punt - to get ahead! Great call on the "beef-up" plan! Can't wait for the next installment and then back to Chris' and see her plow! Thanks Mike & Aaron! Lee
Another great video. You had a plan and was executed it well.
I love the problem solving strategy you guys use.
It is good that you were able to get the 1inch plates made so quickly. I think that with this incident you have found the weak spot. And know where the weak spots are. Great job for designing such a good plow.
Howdy Mr. Dirt, It's really amazing how much work you 2 can get done when you're not slinging BS at each other!! Excellent teamwork! What did Farmer Chris say when you told him his hard, rocky ground broke the tile plow? Great video! Thumbs up! Stay safe! Jim
It is amazing that you got this far so quickly. To acquire the steel, get it cut and delivered, and mock it up in a day or two is impossible.
Well done guys. I wonder what the actual time to get the parts was.
Plow phase two is well on the way. Looking forward to next build video.
Thanks for sharing.
Its youtube time so he could have ordered the steel a few days earlier, It helps that they have a local steel supply house that had the CAD files for the plow parts on hand from when he first built it. Those parts could have been ordered, cut and ready for pick up in an hour or 2 for a good customer.
@@warrenmichael918
That is within the realm of POSSIBILITY. Still, the order had to be placed, the material sourced, (1" thick steel is not too common) cut, and delivered. Yes, it is POSSIBLE, but I hope Mike will answer the real question.
Thanks for your opinion.
Broke Friday at noon had steal in shop Monday at noon
@@FeralPreacher 1" isnt out of the ordinary for a shop thats set up with CAD capabilities really.
I like how well you 2 work together. Great minds think alike.
Nice plan for the fix! I had wondered how much you would have to remove to repair the break. I think if you keep it square it should work well. Nice beef up to the parts too. Enjoying the fix and looking forward to the plow working again. Thanks for sharing.
Love to watch you two work. You both have a great attitude. Wish you had more time on You Tube.
First & most important GREAT teamwork !! Not a rebuild I anticipated !! The multi- talents put together in this project is 2nd to none !! 50 min. of video to express probably two days plus of real work... I was thinking before you even got back to the shop it needed to be 1'' beefy material !! As usual the respect & work effort with constant banter makes for a great movie experience!! Eagerly wanting to see the finished product back in service!! Did I mention professional work !!
Hi you seem to be going in the right direction, you look to have turned the corner, MBTS as usual is doing welder, the proof will be in the pudding ( pudding it in the ground )🙃🤣🙃well done both of you 👍🐝🌞
Great video Mr Dirt Perfect and MBTS
I see that you guys are making good progress on rebuilding your tile plow
heck of a job guys KUDOS!
The failure not withstanding I really enjoyed the build videos for the plough. So more to come, happy Christmas to you DP and Arron from England.
As always another great piece of work by DP and mbts can’t wait to see the end results
Good morning DP and Aaron
Great video Mike, Aaron is a credit to your business, very informative watching. Thanks guys
Great Job man behind the scene's. You Both complement each other..
Lots of progress , its looking good keep at it guys 👍🇺🇸
Thank you Mike and Aaron for an other great video. Stay safe and have a fine Christmas season.
Great job welding MBTS
I’m curious what farmer Chris, though when he showed up at the field,no Mike,no dozer,no work done .I’m sure he didn’t waste no time in calling you.I think you said it was a priority to get that field done as soon as possible.hopefully you won’t be down for more than few days.that plow did get torn up.great video as always.just continue on and get er done 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Great job there you fellow Hoosier's, the two of you and gumbi will have it done in no time
Great video DP and MBTS. You will have it back together bulletproof this time. Cant wait for the next one. I remember seeing ya'll working on this plow in one of Captain Kleeman's videos awhile back.
Great job MBTS
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Aaron to the rescue
Man Behind The Scenes is back doing what he does best.
Your fit up should include the plow in the bracket - you can square and center from the plow in place. If you just weld up the side plates you risk having the plow a few degrees off center forcing the back of the dozer to run an arc. The extra plating should give the strength you need.
It was a bad day when the tile plow broke, but just think it a good day, Aaron repairing it great welder
Looking forward to the next round great watch gentleman 👍👋🇨🇦
Starting to look plow perfect again 👍🏻🇺🇸
Great work. Aaron nodding his head to bring his visor down when not wearing it ... again! Made me chuckle.
You guys make such A good team. Looks like it"s coming together perfectly.
Love me a torch & welder video - hate you had to lose good weather over it though
You will be back putting in tile in no time. Great job.
Thoroughly enjoyed, very impressed!
Coming together fast
Good morning all! MBS can fix it!! Enjoy this one looks fun😀😀😀😀
Mike I'm sure that you appreciate that you have Aaron there to back you up. Great asset and friend.
Looks pretty amazing. I know that was a setback but looks like it will also. Be a step forward overall.
Aron is awesome.
Most excellent video the plow will live again soon nicely done so far men 👍😎🇺🇸 NY
Aaron is a good operator with the gas axe and glue stick. Think he is a keeper. Nice progress from the other man watching from behind the scenes. Cheers Stew.
I love Aarons OSH approved leg extension at around 37:50 !!! 😆😆
It would be interesting to know how many miles of drain tile were installed before this failure. A testament to good design and I bet you wished you dug the road out with the 210. Love the videos.
I can BET that if just if Aron man behind the scenes was on sight he would have insisted on using the 210 to rip up that roadway first At times DP MIKE is way way too much a redneck and costs himself time and money
Good Lord, what a tangled mess that was!! MBTS is back just in time to help clean up the mess. I have no doubt you guys will knock it out of the park. That had to be some rock that damaged it considering everything you have put it through in the last two years. Mike your content keeps me on the edge of my seat every time, Keep up the good work Guy's, your killing it it my book.
Good training is knowing what to do when things go wrong. Good job.
Awesome, thank you for sharing, great project 👍👍👍👍
There has always gotta be a weak spot and as Michelle said its a cleanish break and been under phenomenal continuous stress specially when two dozers were pulling
Nice job, You two! So much fun watching ya'll work together also!
Professional help for a Professional installation job!
Great progress on the tile plow DP and MBTS
Still say you two are good!!
Looking good thanks Mike and Aron
Awesome job so far...to what appears to a substantial improvement in strength and no doubt performance. Looking forward to seeing the final weld and a rap on this perfect rebuild. Appreciate you sharing your day with us.😎👨🔧🛠️🇺🇸🚜🔧
Run shim plates between the guide weldment and plow. That way you could add or subtract shim plates if you have too much shrinkage or overage in your guide weldment.
Good morning DP sad for your PLOUGH breaking but it has been one very big example of what everyday people can build when the need is there .But on the upside we viewers get SHOP ANTICS big laughs tempered with Aaron's skills,oh and your decisive decision making 😊😊,really looking forward to the next episode
Cheers Kym

Looking forward to the next installment.
Thanks for a awesome video. From kiwi land.
