Finally a informative video of how to fish haibut in the bay lol
Yup halibut are gonna take a beating this year!
inevitable...human mentality "go get em boys while the pickings are good"😅
Exactly, the limit should be 2
Great to have you back on the water again Chris. Thanks for the tips and the inspiration.
Thanks for watching, yeah happy to get a break from the bad weather and get out fishing.
Let me know if you want to fish Pyramid Lake Nevada this spring. I’ll take you out on my boat and show you around. Tight lines.
Good job chris, thanks for sharing.. 👍🙏
Thanks Chris ✌️ you are so positive and enjoyable to watch....
I appreciate it thanks for watching and leaving the nice comment.
Good video Chris, always enjoy your content. Thanks for your help to start my channel. Looking forward to the next. Alonso
One of the best tutorial videos I've seen. Well done.
thanks for the nice comment and watching the video!
I really enjoy watching your videos
I appreciate you taking the time to say that! Thanks for watching
Love your videos! See you out their on the water. It’s suck that salmon season is closed for the year.
Good job nice work
Great videos
I have a small boat and really want to take it to the bay this spring/summer
What weather apps do you use?
I know that for me to be out there I have to have really good boating weather
Thanks
Keep up the good work Brother
Learning a lot and can’t wait to get out there and catch some keepers
Since Salmon closed (WAH,WAH) going to need to go fresh water fishing! Flaming George, Tahoe, etc..! Great information video!
Great content as usual Chris. Can't beat "fish on", on first cast.
I appreciate it, hope to see you in tbay this summer!
Hi Chris! nice hali catch. Up in BC Canada we can still target Springs. 🐟 I always check the HOT deals on power banks (etc.) at Canadian Tire, I have several power banks now, 20,000 MAH , bought them on sale for ~ $25 Cdn Each, Regular price is $90 each. They keep my phone and Navionics app powered. and my cabin usb powered lights on my boat (etc). That solar power bank you have looks tempting. Had my boat safety gear checked out, too, all is well. TY.
Another great video Chris. I was out this last Saturday and lost one at the boat. First time Hali fishing…. I’m hooked. Can’t wait to get a keeper on the stringer.
yeah its a lot of fun for sure! Good luck on the next trip and see you out there!
It’s always good to put one in the box first thing in the morning 👍🏻 great job buddy
Thanks Ahmed
Good catch boss nice big one ☝️
GREAT video Chris. Think you could add a quick video or link to how you rig your leader?
I found t in your previous video - ruclips.net/user/clipUgkxWVVKIngk7uTL_8qIqqqMnxuXzN-ztAEv
haven't seen you lately - as for in the bay try trolling / drifting the power line that go'es from pier 7 - i lost one that the nose was about six inches past my crab net and the tail was at least six or seven inches over the net and Damn because of the double hook setup the upper hook caught onto the rope and well at least we got it out of the water - It was a Biggin - i did harvest one 28 inch'er - but the most enjoyable experience was catching my own anchovies for my bait
Chris they have a flap you can get for your GoPro that has a hole to charge it while plugged in. Super useful.
Thanks will look into one.
Yea as others have mentioned, you can replace the door on the battery compartment that has a usb-c hole cut into it. Also if you are using the GoPro in heat and plugged into an external, it’s a good idea to take out the GoPro battery.
Thanks for the tip!
Nice fish Chris!! Question: is the weight bouncing on the bottom constantly of just off bottom? Do you always use a treb as a stinger? I have been using two circle hooks for ling cod and it works well.
i dont bounce the bottom. I try to be a couple inches above, if a wave comes or I rock the boat I would touch the bottom. Yes always use a stinger on a trolling rig. Not sure on the circle hook for halibut trolling. Thanks for watching
chris where are you launching for thecbay?
Gr8 vid bud! Going to definitely get my hands on one of those chargers!!! So nice to see a manufacturer not raping their customers!!! You thinking of any Striper action since Salmon is off the table this year???
yeah I will try a little striper fishing. Thanks for watching and yeah good deal on the solar charging battery packs.
What part of the bay were you working?
We wanna try that here in SW Washington Chris do u have kicker controls up at the helm if so how does the trollmaster work with the throttle cable from the helm controls thx we have helm controls up at the driver seat and are also gonna put on one of the Garmin reactor 40 autopilot sorry bout your salmon man that sucks
kicker I control with the tailfin and throttle with the itroll. The main in controlled only at the helm. Downfall with the tailfin is it can not be connected with the main. Thanks for watching
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Whats up Chris, when does j &p bait open? For the live anchovies??
they post updates on there facebook page. nothing yet... hopefully end of april, generally by May.
Nice job out there. But please don’t feel you need to turn off Foo Fighters. We will listen along with you. 😊
Where did you buy that rod holder sir?
reel custom boat works in stockton. give them a call and ask for Jim. He does all the work on my boat. Thanks for watching
You going out this weekend?
Hi Chris, Can you please tell me the name of the metal pieces your rod holders are attached to? I have 20ft Thunder Jet fishing boat and would like to get the rod holders higher off the gunnel.
They are from reel custom boat works in stockton. Call and ask for Jim. He knows my boat well, does all the work too it. Just mention you saw them on my boat and he will know what your talking about. He should also help you on the price. Thanks for watching
@@ChrisPfish2 did he do your tower also?
@@Thansen2132 yes he did do the tower as well.
When water is cold (like now) do you fish shallower depths or deeper?
good question... I am still learning that. I think the depth might be more of a tide thing as that moves the bait. If you are between 10-30ft you should be in the zone in the bay.
Chris the link for the solar pack isn’t there.
its fixed, thank you
That hat looks just like the Corpus Christi Hooks minor league baseball teams hat.
it sure is, my lucky hat. thanks for watching
Which model rod do you recommend?
okuma monterey Medium action. rated 10-20lb test i think it is. Its the lightest one in the lineup. Great rod for halibut, salmon and lighter rockfish lures.
was this monday?
Chris can you take me as a guest lol?
Going Solo? Safety? Just call/contact me; a "video follower" of yours and fellow bay area bay and surf fisher since 1955.
👁️🪶👁️
who else going friday to go get some butts? 😂 ill be out thereeeeee
Why isn’t the state doing anything to help the resource? This is California, and they won’t do anything until the resource is in dire need….
Damn boats with fish finders catching way to many fish, over fishing, no water in the river system, that's the problem not the state
That fish was dead. fu
good jobChris, but stop talking about limiting the limit, I always stop at 2 max so do many people, but we dont want to encourage additional restrictions. just do it ourselves.
