I love watching the Cuban link chain creation process. It's a true art to me and the craftsmanship in this video is amazing. 22k/18k Micro Cuban links might be the new trend, especially those that like to subtle flex. Much easier for every day wear and to travel with. Never say never about creating another one. Y'all might've created a new market for ladies who don't want all that weight on their neck with a 8mm or bigger but want to rock one daily. Heck, I'm interested in one for my son now, instead of ordering something similar to rose gold cross. Love it!

I love how their smallest ever Cuban link is what most people normally make. Don’t get my wrong that is very hard to make and they make it look easy but this just goes to show you how large they normally go when making these Cuban links. I only work with silver right now but would love to make a 24k Cuban link. That is a beautiful chain
Right? This should be the standard for smallest chain, why bother wearing such tiny thin chains that will snap and break over anything and so tiny that the links don't matter from being so thin and dainty that you can't even see what type of link it is unless you got a jewelers loop.

If it's pure 24k gold wouldn't the chain be really soft and loose shape or bend very easily? The chain and video is beautiful, just curious because I usually only see chains in 14k or 18k .

We're currently not selling 24k chains, but we have a calculator in the description you can use to configure any other chain. In the near future, after our ecommerce website is finished, we might start offering 24k chains. 👍
Much of it is filed off. But the shavings are swept up and used to make other things. There's so much filing down to make this shape of links, that it ends up about half of what you start with.

i have been a professional jewellery repair man for 55 years. I am now retired. I have made a medic alert braclet using the Cuban chain pattern. We call it Curb chain. The big difference was we had to use a manual roller,pull the wire through the draw plates using physical strength and twist the chain by hand in a vice with vice grips on the opern end. Other than that it was a very similar process. M we did not do too much manufacturing but did a lot of repairs,alterrations ,diamond seting and stone setting and complete rebuilds of engagement rings which were very old and worn out. I was wondering what karet of solder you used and what was the hardness of the solder [easy.medium or hard] on the 24K chain.. Tom, Nova scotia ,Canada
I've seen that there's actually a difference between Cuban and Curb per fashion designers - Cubans are generally thicker/heavier with less room inbetween links than a standard curb. I'm doing a lot of researching because... Well, my brain went "what's the difference?" and that is the answer I found.

This is a awesome video. I'm no jeweler or gold smith but I feel I could make a Cuban link chain with a little practice. Making the clasps is something I would need to be shown how to do for sure. Also the shalack can it be substituted for wax instead? Someday I might try to make a chain out of copper or silver just to see if I can do it, looks like a fun process. i only wear 24k, which is the gold standard for many southeast asian countries and china, but i am envious of the mirror polish that 18k and 14k gold can take. with 24k gold you can never get a mirror polish like you can with 18k and 14k because 24k is not hard enough to be able to take mirror polish.

The handmade ones are always better quality Tito. The finishing is better too.

It bends a bit easier, yes, but it doesn't mean it's like clay or anything. The smaller ones tend to get damaged easier as well.

If its like that thick no problem here in asia they do 23k and 24k but 18k is standard
It's closer to 660mm in length. We prefer 18k for durability.
