Today, in 2021, this still is the best dreamy techno there is. What a vibe. Incredible.
Moderat is absolutely Top Tier. There's no question about that. I wouldn't be surprised that they might be an inspiration for a whole new generation of electronic music artists.
Because of those performances, working in KEXP radio is probably the best job in the world...

Bad Kingdom sounds better than the album recording streamed on Spotify Premium. Audio guys: Outstanding job.
if you are really audiophile you dont use spotify. i recommend you Flac format, most of your androids can play them.
I feel sorry for people who have yet to ad a subwoofer to their system. They dont know what they are missing. When i owned a house, i used to have a SUNFIRE tru Signature subwoofer with two 12 inch woofers in a 13 in cube and 2700 watts. The sonic boom from that system could be heard in my neighbors back yard. Now i use a downsized sub from Bob Carver. It is a Sunfire with a front and downfiring woofer. I reccomend this for anyone in an Apartment ⁷ it will fill in the missing bass while keeping the peace with the neighbord.
I love how they always kick off with 1 or 2 songs right away, before actually starting the talks
IDK how to explain it, but I have some kind of pleasurable sadness inside when I am listening to "Moderat" even though the songs are not "typical" sad songs but they hit me hard...
me too. Especially when they play ghostmother or a new error.. these are next level masterpieces. I feel their music in my heart, it runs through my veins, I am crying bc it’s just so good man. I guess their music and lyrics are kinda deep and there is a type of sadness that comes thru

The sadness I feel when listening to this comes from a place of craving freedom, craving peace, craving nature and stillness in the mind and body ..idk how to explain .. I feel like a pure soul that just wants to be free and loving and reconnecting to the divine idk man

Haha, so weird to actually see their faces when they're playing live. They're always shrouded in fog, lights and incredible visuals. Here they look like... ordinary humans playing music (not meant in a bad way)

I am so happy I now have these extended versions, they are fucking amazing! Seriously the best band in the world.
I csnt believe these guys are from the same days as me. I can imagine a gig with this music playing, i am there. The best this germans ever gave us, humanity is the music. Other things but jesus Christ the music. I met a guy in rome wearing a moderat t-shirt. Obviously i said hello. We talked about our lives for 30 minutes. What a journey, a pleasure. Thank you. Bonobo, fink, thievery co, Lamb, Thom Yorke, for taking our music somewhere we always needed. Oh and soulful techno, olivier schories, Stéphane bozin, many more but im not winning an oscar for this thanks. Keep the good work. We're still listening and connecting. ❤❤❤❤

Sting is dueting slot of late so perhaps it might be on the cards. I think it be a special coming together!!

they are no longer touring :( luckily I did get a chance to see them live in 17 and they were absolutely terrific

Modeselektor guys always make me think of two locomotive-engineers, love their appearance. The sound they produce with the three of them is amazing, the vocal chops and other effects are so well created. Hits the feels directly.

I think there are many common points, if not to say influences, in some aspects particular referring to Sascha here:
• Haunting, captivating and expressive voice
• Ability to create moods and great harmonies which unfold magnificently
• great buildup of suspense throughout the tracks
• Experimenting with sound and love of the tiniest detail
• Perfectionism and keeping control of their output
• great visuals
• no endeavour to go for radio-friendly 3 minute tracks
• serious about pop/electronics music as an art form
and many more, including the heartthrob factor 💖

This may be the closest I get to seeing them live. I live in a small city in the Midwestern U.S. Then again...who knows?

sorry, I´m not a DJ. But I quite often ask myself what they´re actually doing in most of the time. (Serious question without judging people). For instance: 10:08 … he´s pushing and twisting several buttons, but the sound doesn´t actually change. So what effects the pushing and twisting??? or doesn´t it effects instantly???
Looks like that did a repeater or loop of the kick drum. Sometimes it's not effects.
So at the 10.08 mark.He looks like hes reseting his nobs for the next track...But remember usually when its comes to producer/dj All the arrangement is done proir.Lots of kats do freestyle some of there live shows.There are hours days and months that go into 1 song...Great electronic producers are the guitar,keys,vocals,bass and arrangers of a mass that a single person playing an instrument in its traditional way couldnt get to.(usually)There are some exceptions to that rule of coarse.
I heard and saw this. If You didn't see a changes in music, You (sorry) shouldn't listen to music anymore
Man, it is so much progression there!!! Bass drum change alot! reverbs & delays & some effects comes out in that part. But, maybe you need to see some tutorial of electronic live performance to understand this.
