Also in the video footage of the abduction, he pulls his victim in the van with unhuman strength.
I hated this movie's trailer. A better version of the story should’ve been having Josh Harnett play different characters, all trying to escape the concert because they think it’s for them and have every character up until the last being unsuccessful/a red herring and the antics to escaping escalating to an escape.
My thoughts while watching: - ok this a pretty cool concept - catchy song, but why’s it playing so long? - entertaining so far; Josh has become a great actor - another full song? Ok, sure.. - can’t really see what it’s building towards, but I’m excited for a twist! - oh.. we’re out of the venue now, this has lost some appeal - the wife is gonna be in on it, right - right..? - huh.. underwhelming but I guess it’s just a bit of character building for the “Glass/Split” universe - I guess not.. 4/10, started really well but ultimately finished extremely underwhelmed and missed a ton of great opportunities.
I'm just curious if Trap is in the same universe as Unbreakable since Cooper shows a heightened endurance from taser guns and heightened strength when he grabbed Spencer using one arm.
The twist should be like his wife should be the butcher . Mom controls the butcher in the same way that is why he has two split personalities. the wife knows about this and then controls his husband and goes on with the killing spree with the help of his husband . But the husband doesn't want to reveal his wife's identity as a serial killer if he revealed Riley's life will be spoiled so he accepts as butcher himself and gets surrender
Ending should have been Cooper hugging his daughter, and she slips him the wheel spoke, and he slips her a usb drive We re-play the scene of the mom asking the detective what the early signs of Cooper’s insanity were, and she repeats that the signs may have been visible in early childhood but never again after. We then see repeated shots of Riley acting strange during earlier moments of the concert, and show flashbacks of her acting out at school, threatening and scaring the “bully” girl and showing there is more meaning to that sub-plot. We then see Cooper’s daughter finding all of her father’s remaining safehouses on a computer via the thumb drive. One is highlighted over the others. We splice the ending of him getting free of his chains with seeing the daughter open a door to one of the safehouses, where the mom is waiting with a woman tied up in a chair. Mom turns the chair to reveal Lady Raven, tied up and crying. And we cut to Cooper laughing like he does at the very end.
This movie pretends that there is no such thing as CCTV. All they had to do was look at the CCTV to see everything that he was doing in the concert. Secondly, doesn't a pop star have security with her at all time?

The only thing that looked vaguely like there could have been a twist was casting haily mills to chase him, from a parent trap... in a movie whwere shes trying to trap a parent.
It’s literally explained in the film why that is. Do you just watch movies with your eyes and ears closed and then go home and complain? They clearly explained the show sold out so quickly, they added another show the next day. Which happens quite frequently, including Taylor swift.

I saw somewhere online that M had written a direct sequel to Signs and has a script done and ready to film. I really really hope we end up getting a continuation of the first film and that it’s done right. Signs is considered one of the best films ever made and if done right can cement M Knight as one of the most iconic filmmakers of his generation
I didn't come up with this but totally agree. Better ending would've had Cole Sear got the information from one of Cooper's previous kills. Throw Haley Joel Osment in as the mid-credit scene and you have a classic on your hands.
It does have a twist... the fact his wife snitched him out is the twist.. the trap was the concert but they set a second trap at his house.. just in case.. thats the twist. Nothing crazy.. but a twist none the less
The movie’s “twists” aren’t as massive as the Sixth Sense. The twist isn’t “it was X the whole time.” The whole idea that he’s the killer is made extremely clear from the start.
The problem with an M. Night Shyamalan movie is. . .HIS FIRST MOVIE WAS A MASTERPIECE! With that said, "Trap" was far from a failure. IMO, the top 3 things about the movie were, 1. discovering Saleka Night Shyamalan! I'm buying that music! I loved every single song she sang; 2. the return of Josh Hartnett! Was that supposed to be a dad bod when he took his shirt off? Josh is like almost 50 years old. He could give Channing Tatum a run for his money as the next Magic Mike! 3. I love surprise casting. It was a hoot seeing Hayley Mills. As an African American, Sonya Massey shown being murdered by a cop in her own kitchen after calling the police to her home because she thought an intruder was outside her house, was devastating to watch. So, in the movie, when a serial killer is tased by 4 different cops, allowed to fiddle with a bicycle, then put in the back of a police van ALONE. . .I just thought. . .must be nice to have white privilege. Anyway, I digress. I'm glad that I saw it. It's worth the price of admission. I look forward to the next M. Night Shyamalan movie!
@@burntre1 Yeah, if she can come to terms with the fact that you'll never make her a grandma, then I'm sure she knows that Josh Hartnett is not really a serial killer.

A good twist would have been that when revealing himself to raven, she too reveals herself as a serial killer. OR, his wife was also a serial killer. When raven was describing the butcher to his family, i got the vibes she was tipping him off with all the ways he was a suspect. I dont think you can expect a 6th sense/ the village twist from him anymore.
Yea right, I just don’t understand why he doesn’t weave the twist into the fabric of the movie anymore. It seems like he builds a cool plot then last minute realizes he has to throw in some type of mild twist. I want to see another 6th sense level twist, that was a masterpiece in my opinion.
boring movie. he didnt kill anyone in the movie.and the screentime of the singer was forced..its like they made this movie to give the singer a debut to her acting career.
Here's what another twist comes in if you notice the colors in the film where red and white Cooper was in red lady Raven was in white it represented Good and Evil Cooper with evil lady Raven was good so then when the time came for him to escape and he threatened her she reversed it back at him and he didn't even see that coming so basically she was the opposite of him And this movie was not to promote her music career if anybody was paying attention to the interviews she says she only wrote the songs for the movie she had no intention of being in it her father suggested she should be the performer of the film and these are all original songs and not a copy of any other artists all of the music film belongs to the studio so she can't perform none of these songs outside of the Trap movie promotion because these songs belongs to the studio that the movie is produced by they own the rights to it And if you was paying attention she has worked behind the scenes on his movies before and she was a singer long before this movie even happened and she already had a good night with career long before this even started the reason why people are pissed off is because all their theories were wrong and the fact that the movie didn't get ruin like they wanted now they bashing it And if you notice it wasn't just based on the whole entire concert that she was performing because if it was she would be in the movie A lot more than she was in it less
Here’s my explanation - this movie is set in the same universe as Unbreakable, Split, and Glass. Cooper’s superpower is luck, just like Domino from Deadpool 2.
So the wife thinks her husband is a serial killer. Instead of having police take him in for questioning, they let him take his daughter to a public event, putting everyone at the concert in danger.
I actually thought he was a butcher trying to catch another bigger butcher or something like that 😂 only to make himself look like a hero at the end. Idk, Shyamalan movies always look boring at the end.
When I watched the trailer, I thought the twist would be he wasn’t the one they were targeting, but he would think he was ending up being face to face with the real one being the twist where he’s used as a double etc
Nobody is talking about the footage of him kidnapping Sebastian. No human could snatch another human and shut the door that quick. This has to be related to split and if it’s not later revealed in another movie that’s dumb as fuck
The twist was, as he said several times, that HE was in control and set traps for us in thinking what things meant and where they would lead so he didn’t do any of them
So he buys the ticket to a concert that is ONLY setup last minute as a trap to catch him based on an anonymous tip? Josh is great, but the story is full of nonsense (even after a fair amount of suspension of disbelief...)
The funny thing for me is I accidentally skipped the part where he checks his victim in the toilet room through his phone, so I didn't know he was the Butcher immediately. It made me root for him throughout the concert, but I still had doubts until his private conversation with Lady Raven. I knew that I was watching the film on the perspective of a killer.
I DON'T MIND AT ALL M.Night did a privilege to picked his own daughter to played in his own movie. But I DO MIND when her screen time is too much, where the times can be used for showing more tricks from Butcher in how he killing people, how he lure the victims, how he lives a double live, how Josh Harnett acts switching character, how's Butcher past trauma. Shame, this movie has so much potential especially for a long comeback actor like Josh Harnett.
Naw, it wasn’t the cleaning fluid that tipped her off. She says it’s when she saw him lie so effortlessly to someone. That made her realize he could be someone dangerous. She also knew he wouldn’t hurt Riley or their son because his doting dad persona was a real one.
I really enjoyed the fact that movie was filmed from the killers point of view and made the viewer root for the bad guy. Although I have to say a music star like Lady Raven would never be as pushy to the real butcher and most of all she would have never been allowed to leave the event center without personal security guards .
Shyamalan's movies are supposed to make children mental like the Sixth Sense did for the security state and Trap is like that too. Concerts are about fanaticism and violence and such so they can have an excuse to use more security on us as things get more chaotic. They're at a concert in the movie with a girl as they target kids for violence and securitization and prison. And thats why theres a murderer and the government security agencies in the movie Trap. Thats why his movies usually suck hes probably just an agent. Disney is a part of it. They do the same thing with schools and school shootings. They MAKE it all mental and they add security to get control of everyone.
The twist should’ve been we find out his daughter is just like him. Maybe that’s why the girls don’t want to be friends with her any more. Maybe they found out she was different at a sleep over or something
The twist: The whole movie was to give his daughter a career boost. Why the two movies mixed in to one, M. Night Shamalamadingdong? "No one would watch a movie about my daughter otherwise and she would, _GASP!,_ have to earn her own success." - M. Night Shitthebedagain
Did anyone notice a digital mistake on Josh Hartnett‘s face when he sat down while confronting his wife? There seemed to be some sort of Matt over the right side of his face that keyed his face and I could see the wall behind him. I think it was there for maybe 10 seconds over a couple of shots. was I just seeing things?
If this is the level kind of twist Shyamalan's fans are happy about, they shouldn't watch Korean Thriller Movies, I don't think they can handle the mind bending twist in the endings.
I don’t get why the wife just didn’t get them tailed on the way to the concert and then pulled him over.. the movie was lack luster and I was expecting the big twist to be crazier. I still love Josh Hartnett in this movie tho, he played psycho pretty good to me
perhaps some may seem to ignore that the "PLOT TWIST" in this movie that made me..."ahh?! ok that's why the police had a hint the butcher "attending" the concert moment"... is that it's actually the butcher's wife was actually involved right from the beginning and was the initiator of the "TRAP"
I don't know why you think he will "likely escape police custody". He's in the back of the police van, locked from the outside being followed by three other SWAT vehicles. I guess they will open the door and he will just magically disappear.
He left proof of the concert ticket at his last crime scene? I did see the movie and still don’t understand that! How many concert venues still use paper tickets?? Everything is over the phone now
Idk for some reason I feel like Josh kind of gives me a "human Michael Meyers" vibe because he kept escaping/ surviving. And maybe also because he was in H20, and he would technically be Michael's nephew. Shyamalan could def spin into that somehow if he got the rights &/or did a second film.

The twist was that we needed to sit through the concert as well
stop posting false memes)
@@Str52849 huh?
The twist is he gave way too much time to his daughter, had no business in the story after they left the concert
Yes made it a lil cheesy
Not agree witj you(( Their first confrontation of ideas with Lady Raven was shown when he pitted himself against everyone who was able to forgive and turn on their phone flashlights. In the future, he comes closer and closer to her. So just have to watch the film closely with the recognition that your internal logic may not coincide with the logic of the film)
@@Str52849 point is she’s a talented musician but a shit actor that had no business in the scenes after the concert, movie falls a part trying to convince us what an amazing woman she is
I thought she was great
After he survives the tasers, I’m convinced dude is part of the Unbreakable universe.
I wouldn't be suprised if it takes place in the same universe as split ,unbreakable etc.. he shows amazing strength when the cops take him down, tazed twice, drugged and still is able to unleash a force to take down an officer and almost crush with his hands. Also in the video footage of the abduction, he pulls his victim in the van with unhuman strength.
The real twist is when I thought I just farted in the theater but it started running down my leg.
Bro.. 💀
Physiological humor. I appreciate it.
Ahh explosive diarrhea. Brings me to the past
OOH HELL NAA MAN
😂
The twist was Cooper outing himself to Lady Raven and forcing her hand, instead of trying to stealthily escape the concert.
Cooper acts like the killer straight away. Then he is the killer. Whoa! Crazy twist.
That wasn’t the twist though
That wasn't a twist. That was the story.
I hated this movie's trailer. The idea that the FBI has setup a sting to capture one of their top ten most wanted, only to allow the chance at some dumb merch vendor to just ruin the whole thing by blabbing to some rando (who, uh oh, just happens to b the guy they're looking for) is so so so stupid...
There's no way the FBI would not have replaced the event staff with all of their own people...
No... way...
A better version of the story should’ve been having Josh Harnett play different characters, all trying to escape the concert because they think it’s for them and have every character up until the last being unsuccessful/a red herring and the antics to escaping escalating to an escape.
Not bad
Immaculate you should be the writer
The twist is, that there is no twist, but we're all expecting a twist the whole time.
My thoughts while watching:
- ok this a pretty cool concept
- catchy song, but why’s it playing so long?
- entertaining so far; Josh has become a great actor
- another full song? Ok, sure..
- can’t really see what it’s building towards, but I’m excited for a twist!
- oh.. we’re out of the venue now, this has lost some appeal
- the wife is gonna be in on it, right
- right..?
- huh.. underwhelming but I guess it’s just a bit of character building for the “Glass/Split” universe
- I guess not..
The twist is that Shyamalan still gets people to watch his cinematic catastrophes.
I’ll always be an M Night fan. Whatever movie he puts out, I’m going to see it
Even Last Bender?
@@GarredHATES no comment
sorry?
Same
Same they're not always super great but I'm always intrigued to see what he's going to come up with next
Ending should have been Cooper hugging his daughter, and she slips him the wheel spoke, and he slips her a usb drive
We re-play the scene of the mom asking the detective what the early signs of Cooper’s insanity were, and she repeats that the signs may have been visible in early childhood but never again after.
A better twist would have been if it was an identical brother or someone who just happened to look almost the same as Cooper
Once again the trailer spoiled the fun. If we had found out he was the killer while watching the movie would have been much more exciting
Makes no sense. The whole plot of the film is that he's trapped by the police and trying to escape. If the trailer doesn't show that he's the killer then what is it going to show? The point of a trailer is to give the audience an idea of what to expect from the movie. How are you going to show him evading the cops like that, looking for a way out and not have the audience be suspicious that he's the bad guy?
No. I think the trailer the way it was made me want to watch it
The only thing that looked vaguely like there could have been a twist was casting haily mills to chase him, from a parent trap... in a movie whwere shes trying to trap a parent.
Does Shyamalan realize just about every concert in existence including T Swift DOESN'T begin and end during the day time lmao wtf
It’s literally explained in the film why that is. Do you just watch movies with your eyes and ears closed and then go home and complain? They clearly explained the show sold out so quickly, they added another show the next day. Which happens quite frequently, including Taylor swift.
Take this as a reason to shut up and actually watch the movie.
@@BaronVonBielski the dude doesn't even do research in how concerts operate, the halls completely filled while the headliner is playing, no security detail, bodyguards etc, yeah that dont happen, even double booked concerts in the day don't happen at 1pm lmao, it was also a shit movie anyways that uses "Shyamalan logic" as an excuse for people not acting like real people would in those given situations, what a joke 😆
@@BaronVonBielskiIt's because you haven't watched this movie. Everything was explained in the film.
@@TrueMithrandirehm Dude are you okay? ... That was a TRAP CONCERT 😅 Not a REAL concert
If the wife was right at the crime scene, she would have known he’s a murderer, so why not just call the police instead of just leaving the concert receipt?
When they revealed the somewhat "twist" in the trailer (him being the serial killer) I thought there would be a bigger twist. But nah 😂
I see many people didnt get the point of a movie. Point was looking from a perspective of a killer and will he or not escape and how. I loved the movie!
I thought the twist was going to be.. once they had the famous singer in the house, the whole family adopts her and changes her look so nobody would recognize her because they are all crazy and in on it all along.
Biggest twist was that the movie was going on further than what trailers had been showing, which was kind of nice cause now it felt like the film wasn’t spoiled through trailers for change
Wait, there was a twist?
No 😂😂
The twist is there’s 2 serial killers there and the other gets got and ours in our Mandela verse escapes Scottfree
The Mandela effect is absolutely real. But you still need to take your meds.
This time rhe aliens are afraid of the sun, and come to earth to escape.
he is already cemented as one of the worst. It will take a lot more than signs 2 to undo that.
The only plot twist i saw was his wife ratted him out to the police
If you can’t differentiate between a Hollywood movie and real life then you need to seek professional help.
@@burntre1 and did your mom get that help after you told her that?
@@karenayers6793 I didn’t need to tell her that as she isn’t a mor-on like yourself.
@ I didn’t need to tell her that as she isn’t deluded like yourself.
@@burntre1 Yeah, if she can come to terms with the fact that you'll never make her a grandma, then I'm sure she knows that Josh Hartnett is not really a serial killer.
I thought the trap was locking everyone in the stadium while a serial killer goes crazy. Josh is the hero.
Glad to have this person doing the breakdown. The new guy from what I think is Screen Rant is ok but I prefer this one.
Wow, love it! It totally worked because as I was watching I was having very conflicting feelings about the fact that I wanted him to succeed and escape the police... 😅
"All that is there is a table and chair." "Yeah I know that's when I knew you were messed up."
boring movie. he didnt kill anyone in the movie.and the screentime of the singer was forced..its like they made this movie to give the singer a debut to her acting career.
Here's what another twist comes in if you notice the colors in the film where red and white Cooper was in red lady Raven was in white it represented Good and Evil Cooper with evil lady Raven was good so then when the time came for him to escape and he threatened her she reversed it back at him and he didn't even see that coming so basically she was the opposite of him
And this movie was not to promote her music career if anybody was paying attention to the interviews she says she only wrote the songs for the movie she had no intention of being in it her father suggested she should be the performer of the film and these are all original songs and not a copy of any other artists all of the music film belongs to the studio so she can't perform none of these songs outside of the Trap movie promotion because these songs belongs to the studio that the movie is produced by they own the rights to it
And if you was paying attention she has worked behind the scenes on his movies before and she was a singer long before this movie even happened and she already had a good night with career long before this even started the reason why people are pissed off is because all their theories were wrong and the fact that the movie didn't get ruin like they wanted now they bashing it
And if you notice it wasn't just based on the whole entire concert that she was performing because if it was she would be in the movie A lot more than she was in it less
This is just ADS for Shyamalan's daughter🤦♂️ and that's the trap😂
😂
I enjoyed it for the most part, just thought it dragged on a bit with Houdini escapes, just made it a lil silly
Happy I missed this.
My top five favorite M. Night Shyamalan movies are the Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, Split and Glass. My honorable mentions are Old and Trap. ❤❤❤❤
You need to watch "Devil". It has an unpredictable twist. You won't see it coming.
The Village has the twist ending of all twist endings.
@@nelcatjaryes! Very good movie! M. Night wrote that movie but don’t think directed it. Either way it’s good.
Almost the same, me put both Glass and Trap on 5th position, because I suppose it still Unbreakable universe)
@@nelcatjar Yes, he wrote script for "Devil"
I don’t know if it’s a great movie, but you won’t be bored watching this.
Nobody is talking about the footage of him kidnapping Sebastian. No human could snatch another human and shut the door that quick. This has to be related to split and if it’s not later revealed in another movie that’s dumb as fuck
It definitely is and they also honed on the broken metal bar Lady Raven snapped off. They’re both Supers.
The twist was, as he said several times, that HE was in control and set traps for us in thinking what things meant and where they would lead so he didn’t do any of them
He could have just walked out at the end of the concert and been home with his feet up. They didn't know what he looked like.
I was thoroughly entertained 🔥
Easy to nitpick the movie, but it was fun and refreshingly different from the typical movie.
You are very right
So he buys the ticket to a concert that is ONLY setup last minute as a trap to catch him based on an anonymous tip?
If the wife was working with the FBI, why did they need to set up the concert fiasco and pull in every police officer from 10 neighboring states?
Seems like the twist is that m.night is trying to erase the expectation of a twist.
Trap is okay.
The daughter should've been the killer. He should've been the cleaner.
At some point I thought the rest of the family were also involved and then tricked the pop star into the killer's trap 😅😅😅😅
The movie imitates life. The suburbs are literally Ground Zero for serial killers.
Josh killed the role but that movie was flawed from start to finish.
It’s weird how everyone in the comments is a movie plot expert, yet I’m not familiar with any of their movies.
If this is the level kind of twist Shyamalan's fans are happy about, they shouldn't watch Korean Thriller Movies, I don't think they can handle the mind bending twist in the endings.
Any recommendations?
The "Twist" was.. the trailer was a million times better than the movie.
They will have a Prequel
I don’t get why the wife just didn’t get them tailed on the way to the concert and then pulled him over.. the movie was lack luster and I was expecting the big twist to be crazier. I still love Josh Hartnett in this movie tho, he played psycho pretty good to me
could someone explain to me why revel himself so easily to lady raven ? this point doesn't make any sense to me
It would have been better if Bruce Willis shows up at the end.
No twist? _WHAT A TWIST_
perhaps some may seem to ignore that the "PLOT TWIST" in this movie that made me..."ahh?! ok that's why the police had a hint the butcher "attending" the concert moment"... is that it's actually the butcher's wife was actually involved right from the beginning and was the initiator of the "TRAP"
The twist should’ve been Trap is part of the Unbreakable Universe.
I am TRAPPED watching concert for 40minutes
I don't know why you think he will "likely escape police custody". He's in the back of the police van, locked from the outside being followed by three other SWAT vehicles. I guess they will open the door and he will just magically disappear.
He left proof of the concert ticket at his last crime scene? I did see the movie and still don’t understand that! How many concert venues still use paper tickets?? Everything is over the phone now
I had to have a small shot of liquor after that. Poor kid. It was both the best and worst day of her life.
Idk for some reason I feel like Josh kind of gives me a "human Michael Meyers" vibe because he kept escaping/ surviving. And maybe also because he was in H20, and he would technically be Michael's nephew. Shyamalan could def spin into that somehow if he got the rights &/or did a second film.
i popped off when he got away in the end, I really liked the movie
