The Butcher is shirtless when he's tasered inside the house. Then he's got his shirt on *after they've cuffed him,* which means they had to go to the kitchen, grab his shirt, and put it on before cuffing him. Thousands of shirtless men are arrested yearly without a care to put their shirt on before arresting. But this man is special.
Why did they put his shirt on? The only explanation is that the writers needed somewhere to hide the bike spoke.
    Fantastic writing. Bravo.

A major issue with this film is that the writers really want us to believe that Cooper is this intelligent, sly villain who can outsmart anyone, but they didn’t know how to write ‘setups & payoffs’ nor create key logic points, so they just made everyone else extremely stupid in comparison.
I feel like if Cooper was supposed to be this smart character who thinks he’s outsmarting all the police and staff, the police should have been smarter and have ALREADY known that he would go there and try to escape, because the police also know he’s smart.
The ‘trap’ should not have been the arena. The REAL trap should have been Cooper’s own territory where he commits crimes. The trap is making Cooper believe he outsmarted the police when, actually, everything was a plan to lure The Butcher out. The code that Jamie, the vendor, gave him should have been a FAKE CODE that only The Butcher would try to use. They should have known that The Butcher would try to exit backstage. I think once they got there, they should’ve given them both “merch wristbands” to subtly check his wrist for the tattoo.
Jody’s mother should have been important as well. When Cooper stole Jamie’s ID badge, Cooper should have ran into someone who I’ll call “Customer”. Customer would have asked Cooper for help or directions, and Cooper, posing as a staff member would give them misleading directions. THEN, when Riley is brought on stage with Little Raven, Riley should have dragged Cooper onstage to dance with her. In the crowd, Customer would be see Cooper onstage and go, “That’s unfair. She only got selected because her dad works here”. Then to Customer’s left is Jody’s mom who KNOWS that Cooper doesn’t work there at all. She’ll obviously ask questions to confirm. Then, she grows suspicious. That would’ve been better than the random wife addition towards the end

The whole plot makes no sense. How did law enforcement know Cooper’s hideout was linked to the killer? He tells his wife that there’s nothing there linking him to the killer. Even if she told the police in her anonymous call that it belonged to the killer, why would they assume that’s reliable enough info to set a gigantic trap that probably cost the city mid six figures to set up? At some point (after obtaining a police radio), Cooper becomes aware that they have little info on the killer. He could simply leave at the end of the show. Law enforcement can’t detain thousands of men just because. Highly illegal. Even if they did, they have no forensic info on the killer that could link Cooper to his hideout. If they got his DNA from the hideout, they would have already done a genetic genealogy (assuming his DNA isn’t already on file) and linked Cooper via the concert ticket (assuming he bought it digitally or with a credit/debit card).

As soon as he grabbed the police radio and heard the chatter that they were looking for a bunch of random possible suspects, his mind should have rested easy that they had no clue who they were actually looking for.. yes even with the wrist tattoo identified simply as a 'person of possible interest' of many suspicious.... there was no actual evidence they could point to in a body search or interview to link him to the crimes (the receipt only manifested that he would likely be in attendance it wouldnt identify who he was and even that is weak since a receipt at that house wouldnt prove he was going to actually be there! there are a million possible reasons for that receipt being there! )... so the real risk for him it seemed then was not in leaving the arena that day , but perhaps in 'EVENTUALLY' getting caught in the days or weeks to follow, as they were narrowing in on him, he being on video as one of the 3000 male possibilities...

I really really really thought i predicted the ending whilst watching the movie - I thought there was something deeper with the daughter and her rough relationships, and M Night spent a minute focusing on Lady Raven puffing on an inhaler. Additionally carbon monoxide was brought up twice, and I thought he was gonna use Hitchcock rules of three for foreshadowing…
Anyways, I though this was gonna happen in the scene at the house:
At the point of the piano phone switch situation, we were gonna find out that Lady Raven calls the police to inform them cooler is the butcher using Rylies phone (to do it as slyly as possible, so she doesn’t use her own phone)
Then puts phone down and sees that Rylie has the same “evil camera app” on her phone along with all sorts of other evidence- she’s the true killer!
*Twist background: Rylie is a troubled kid, bad relationship with friends, takes out anger in strangers. Cooper facilitates and protects her.*
Then somehow to wrap things up Lady raven has a puff of her inhaler (now modified with carbon monoxide) so that she dies without telling anyone about rylies dark secret.
Film ends with Cooper locked up, Raven dead, and Rylie free. Rylie apologises to her dad for getting him into this situation (in front of the police - but vague enough to not raise eyebrows) and somehow he turns on his flash light on his phone to show he forgives her.

Ok Adam I think youve helped me figure stuff out. See, usually one sees a movie because of a premise, right? The film trailer is was meant to introduce the premise. Intrigue us. The film is meant to be a premise, plus everything else that fills in the details. To see what they would do with a premise. Plus the filmmaker used to use their instincts, style, expectations, etc to develop something. An entertaining experience at best. An entertaining spectacle at worst. But now they know they need only the premise. Many films now add nothing to a bare premise. It will get many people to watch. If not in the physical building where movies are projected, then at home because the physical building is not a great place to be most times. Yet, there has to be an ending to the movie. Everything in between has been rendered insignificant. Premise, then some kind of ending. That is what many movies have become.

Why would the FBI take such a leap of faith on an absolute needle in a haystack situation? Why would there be a physical receipt for a show of that size when most ticket companies are now completely electronic especially arena venues?
Aside from this, they would likely shift through the subjects at the entry point before the show in which case this is a totally different format of movie. Probably a chase film. We don't even get an indication that the authorities even know anything definitive about the suspect aside from the fact he MIGHT be going to the show. They were hoping the killer would give himself up upon interrogation. The whole thing was a giant fishing expedition.

It felt like everything was in Cooper's head once he learned the concert was a trap, everything goes his way and he wins in the end..

I just... how did he get out of that limo? That man is 6'3. There's no way he's changing out of swat gear in the driver's seat, speaking from experience. And then like... the car was surrounded on all sides. Body to body. He just managed to open the door, slip out, close the door, and disappear into the shadows with not one person noticing??? Just like how apparently no one noticed him pushing a lady down the stairs? And not one cop, despite having 10 of them surrounding him at every angle, noticed he somehow managed to pull a big piece of metal off a bike and shove it down his sleeve? Listen I'm all for suspending reality in film but c'mon lol.

This isn't a spoiler, anyone that watched the trailer saw the entire movie... since there are no kills only injuries and both of those are shown in the trailer. Trap is the equivalent of a long episode of Nickelodeon's Goosebumps... and even then, at least that series had a more cohesive plot for each episode. There is no twist at the end... they ran out of songs and they needed to ed the movie and the villain was defeated by a bathroom door he couldn't break and a live streaming audience that pulled the biggest CSI episode in 40 secs.

I actually think it's kinda possible.. dont underestimate crazy loyal fans of super star . like if Taylor Swift does it, it actually may happen... the sheer volume of the fans and all it takes is few recognize the place, maybe the neighbour, nearby business workers...etc...
what is unrealistic is how fast police show up at every scene they need them to be, at the limo, at the place..etc

his wife was smart enough to think it was him, call in an anonymous tip instead of getting her children FAR away from him. the police letting him hold that bike in that end was foolish. they went through all this trouble to catch him only for him to get treated like a regular dad. THOUSANDS of people saw him pounding on the bathroom door (shining reference) on her instagram live. also that singer was goofball for not saying Cooper's fckin name!!

The original setting was already contrived to the extreme - trying to catch a killer in a big concert endangering the lives of many innocent bystanders There were guards and SWAT teams covering all exits. It was made a big deal for Cooper to get to the backstage but when he did so he only saw more guards. However, with so much effort, when people they knew said Cooper was with them, they let him pass. The reviewer said what Lady Raven did was dumb, but what Cooper did was even dumber. By the time he succeeded in getting outside, Lady Raven already knew him to be the killer and would soon identify him to the police and everyone including his family would know. So, if he did not kill her or hold her hostage, all he could do was run. Yet he agreed to be driven to his home and even allowed her to visit his family. What was he doing - trying to play good dad for an additional five minutes?

For me the concert was the best part and Lady Raven was a better performer than actor. LOL It was awkward to watch all of those stupid interactions between everyone and Cooper! Plus the camera angle when he would talk with anyone it was almost like he didn't film with them in the same room and he was looking down at them. I can understand that but it was just an weird exchange and I agree the other girl's mom was annoying.
I was so excited for this movie but its not great!
The movie played off as AI wrote and directed it with very little understanding of human interactions.
