My concept for a real sequel, much better than the garbage we got:
    Title: Joker: Love and Chaos
    Concept Overview:
In this sequel, we dive deeper into the chaotic psyche of Arthur Fleck (Joker) as he breaks out of Arkham Asylum, setting the stage for a violent and provocative exploration of love, fame, and the media's complicity in violence.
    Plot Synopsis:
After spending time in Arkham, Arthur has become an enigmatic figure, with his actions on the streets of Gotham having ignited a wave of chaos and a cult-like following. Meanwhile, Harley Quinn, previously a psychiatrist at Arkham, has embraced her own identity as a chaotic force, having been inspired by Arthur’s infamous persona.
    Act 1: The Escape
    - **Opening Scene:** The film opens with Arthur in Arkham, where his mental state has deteriorated further. He becomes obsessed with the media’s portrayal of him. Meanwhile, Harley is introduced as a rebellious inmate, using her charm to manipulate the guards.
    - **The Breakout:** Arthur orchestrates a daring escape, using a combination of cunning and violence. As he breaks free, he inadvertently saves Harley from an abusive guard, and they forge an immediate, chaotic bond.
    Act 2: The Road Trip
    - **On the Run:** Arthur and Harley embark on a cross-country journey, leaving a trail of mayhem in their wake. Their goal is to reach a media hub in New York, where they plan to broadcast their manifesto of chaos and love to the world.
    - **Media Manipulation:** The duo captures the attention of the media, which sensationalizes their story, turning them into anti-heroes. They become a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde, provoking debates about morality, violence, and celebrity culture.
    - **Psychological Tension:** As they grow closer, Arthur’s darkness begins to clash with Harley’s whimsical chaos. Their relationship oscillates between love and manipulation, raising questions about the nature of their bond.
    Act 3: The Climax
    - **The Broadcast:** They finally reach a major television network, planning a live broadcast to share their philosophy. However, their intentions turn darker as they hold the crew hostage, leading to a violent confrontation.
    - **The Chaos Unleashed:** In a shocking twist, Arthur reveals that his goal isn’t just fame but to incite a revolution against societal norms. As the broadcast goes live, they unleash a wave of violence on the streets of Gotham, encouraging viewers to embrace their inner chaos.
    - **The Fallout:** The film culminates in a tragic and explosive climax, where Arthur and Harley face the consequences of their actions. The screen fades to black as the world reacts to the chaos, leaving viewers questioning the morality of glorifying violence.
    Themes:
    - **Love and Destruction:** The film explores the toxic nature of love when intertwined with violence, questioning whether true love can exist in chaos.
    - **Media and Morality:** A critique of the media's role in shaping narratives around violence and celebrity culture, challenging viewers to consider their complicity.
    - **Identity and Transformation:** Both characters grapple with their identities, showcasing how trauma can warp one’s sense of self.
    Conclusion:
"Joker: Love and Chaos" serves as a controversial examination of modern society, pushing boundaries and inviting audiences to confront uncomfortable truths about love, violence, and the nature of fame. The film ends ambiguously, leaving viewers to ponder the legacy of Arthur and Harley in a world hungry for chaos.

    • @politefan8141
      @politefan8141 3 месяца назад +2

Not bad. Them taking over the New York station would have been an ingenious way to actually incorporate the musical numbers into the story and could have led to more depictions of chaos as thier numbers get repeatedly interrupted by authorities, which instigates the mob to retaliate in acts of greater violence. You could also have had Harvey Dent as the main foil who nearly gets killed after a targeted hit directed by the Joker.
I may be in the minority but I actually liked the bleak ending to this movie, but didn't care for the overall execution. Harley could have met her end by the unruly mob when she tries to steal the spotlight from the Joker, which causes the Joker so much grief that he decides to kill his character off in spectacular fashion. At the very end you could have revealed that Arthur Fleck managed to survive his suicide attempt and offers little resistance when finally being captured, but then starts to laugh when he's beaten by the guards.

In the first film, what is the first gesture that Zazie Beets makes to Arthur, when he's imagining her as his girlfriend? --' Fingers as gun-to-the-head.' In Joker 2, what's the first gesture that Lee (Gaga) makes to Arthur? --'Fingers as gun-to-the-head.'
This is the key: Lee is NOT REAL. She is an imaginary girlfriend that Arthur has dreamt-up this time for his super ego (Joker), whereas last time he dreamt-up a girlfriend for himself.
Why is Lee able to "go wherever she wants" and do whatever she wants? Why does this hot, rich woman want to meet him, screw him and have his baby? -Is she too good to be true? -Well yes, she is too good to be real, because she's NOT REAL.
Why does the movie start with a cartoon? -Is it something just for a review critic to make fun of? -Or is it KEY to understanding that the vast majority of Joker 2 exists in Arthur's twisted head? -There is a scene near the end, where we see him and the other inmates in the community room, watching a TV upon which...A CARTOON PLAYS.
Those who don't like this movie DON'T UNDERSTAND IT. It's NOT a superhero film, just like the first one wasn't a superhero film. Is the Joker even real? Or is it the persona that twisted, pathetic Arthur Fleck DREAMS that he could be? -Did he really kill Murray, and did the entire city become crazed Joker imitators? -Or are WE the viewers 'nuts' for thinking that that could happen in this realistically-played drama of a psychotic loser? 🤔

But fans kept saying whens he going to fight Batman when does he become a master criminal give us a sequel I kept saying guy that isnt who this Joker is but they kept saying I was ridiculous and that it could work. Looks like I got the last laugh here 🤣

The Joker: An Idea, Not Just a Person in Joker: Folie à Deux
In the world of comics, the Joker is often considered the ultimate adversary of the superhero Batman. However, behind this famous character, deeper questions emerge about the evolution of the Joker and the nature of his madness. Looking at recent cinematic interpretations, especially in Joker: Folie à Deux (2024) directed by Todd Phillips, an important question arises: Is the Joker as we know him today the one who invented the idea of the Joker, or was this identity refined by a more psychopathic individual?
Arthur Fleck, the character played by Joaquin Phoenix in the first film, is seen as the origin of the madness that defines the Joker. However, he is also a fragile, troubled character due to painful life experiences and deep inner pain. In this interpretation, Fleck is the precursor to a bigger idea - the idea of the Joker - but he does not embody it in its most dangerous form. Fleck is a broken man, and although his actions defy social norms, he remains psychologically and emotionally fragile. His version of the Joker is an explosion of pain and despair, sparking chaos, but it is not a complete embodiment of madness.
In contrast, the "real" Joker, as often portrayed in comics and other films, is a full-blown psychopath. This Joker is not driven solely by personal pain, but by a cold desire for destruction. He is a criminal genius, calculated and devoid of emotion. In this framework, he surpasses the raw idea of the Joker, transforming it into a symbol of chaos and destruction.
This concept offers an interesting dimension in the portrayal of the character: the Joker as an idea, a force of nature, rather than just an individual. In this context, the Joker is not confined to one person or one embodiment. It is madness that can be passed on and amplified, a mental illness that spreads and evolves, and each new incarnation of the Joker can become more dangerous than the previous one. Fleck, in this case, is the first carrier of this idea, but another psychopath, with the ability to manipulate and spread chaos with frozen precision, becomes the true Joker.
This interpretation adds a deeper and more complex layer to understanding the Joker's character, revealing that the Joker is not just a single individual, but an idea that can develop and divide, becoming more threatening with each new incarnation.

This is the best review I’ve seen of all, I’m subscribing and turning on the notification bell. I didn’t want to watch the movie to keep the memory of the first one, but I couldn’t resist, and I just saw it, and oh my god. It turned out to be worse than anything I’d heard, a disaster. The songs are a disaster, the story is a disaster, I totally agree with what you said about New York, god, this is Gotham City. How far do you want to go, Todd? I hate the character ‘Lee’ because I love Harley Quinn from the comics, and from the animated series, movies, and games, but I wasn’t expecting the same one as in Suicide Squad, I already knew this version was different, but it’s a disaster. And if this is a movie called JOKER, it’s not even about the JOKER because SPOILER that guy at the end isn’t even Heath's or Azzarello’s Joker, no sir. A total waste, and unfortunately, it makes me hate it because the first one moved me in theaters, but this movie, oh my god, it’s garbage. I agree 100% with everything you said, and you even missed details that it’s fine you forgot because they’re honestly garbage. This "joke" is a 1/10. Also a Joker movie with 0 kills , my god.

May have mentioned this under your other video, but I think this movie had so much fuckin potential to be this really unique drama/thriller/musical that's basically never been done before. It should've been relatively easy to create these situations where Joker and Harley are experiencing these shared delusions that happen to involve musical numbers, with the musical numbers being part and parcel to the actual plot of the movie so that it doesn't just take you out of it. Have him start to commit more crimes and stuff and start kinda embracing this new image - but then you could cut back to the actual reality where shit's actually still fucked for Joker and Harley, and they just escape into these delusions. That'd be pretty fuckin easy to do, but instead Todd Phillips wanted to subvert expectations (possibly on purpose just as a "fuck you" to the audience). Coming from the guy who did Hangover Part 3, I don't know why I had such high hopes...
From the start, this should've just been its own IP and not called itself Joker - have it just be this random dude with issues who commits these crimes, becomes recognized, goes to jail, goes to court, etc. I mean, that's pretty much what happened. There are only a few things that really tie him into the known IP, so why bother? I guess just because known IPs get butts in seats, but I think the first Joker still would've made close to a billion even if you called it something else because it was just a good movie with interesting themes. This could be a continuation of that and just remove the ties to the actual Joker, and less people would be pissed off about it - though the movie still needed to be better in general.
To be honest, I haven't actually seen the movie yet and I'm just basing this opinion on the various reviews I've heard. But is it true that the Joker at the end is meant to be the equivalent of Heath Ledger's Joker, or are people only saying that because he cut Arthur's mouth? If that's the only reason, it could easily just be Phillips' interpretation of a general Joker who just happens to do something similar to what Ledger's Joker did. But maybe there's more to it and that's wrong. Obviously due to the different decade, it couldn't possibly be Ledger's Joker, so it'd be pretty dumb to try to explicitly hint that it is.

    • @matthewdekker6064
      @matthewdekker6064 2 месяца назад +1

@@chrismasand2402 Yes, Sweeney Todd would be the most similar thing to my idea, but instead of having these dark and darkly humorous songs, this movie could've had entirely joyful, "standard" musical songs, but then keep cutting between the joyful songs and the bleak reality of Arthur Fleck's situation (which he doesn't realize because of all these delusions he shares with Harley, which cut him off from reality). And don't have the entire movie be a musical - maybe like 30-50% of the story could be told in musical numbers (maybe like half could be cover songs, with the other half being original songs that either directly reference whatever's happening in the scene, and/or explicitly drive the character's development), while the rest of the movie is just a straight drama/thriller. I don't think that's really been done before, at least not for a whole movie. It would've been a slam dunk.
I still think someone could make that movie, and just shouldn't try to tie it into any known IP - or if they do tie it into something else, make the character/story at least somewhat recognizable to the character and story we're familiar with, with similar themes/arcs. It doesn't make much sense to completely deviate from the known IP just for the sake of subverting expectations - why even use the IP in the first place then? I think Phillips just never wanted to make this, and I think the script was half-assed to begin with, so that's why he said "fuck the script and fuck the studio" and just kinda did whatever he wanted in the moment. He says he wanted to "challenge the audience," but I don't believe that for a second.

Joaquin's 2019 Joker was what I wanted to see, not a musical. Todd Phillips scammed us with the trailer.
