    A few strats I used consistently in my Hard mode run:
    1. Use Anna or Medina to quickly chuck an aoe ice stone follwed by an aoe fire stone to set up a puddle. Follow up with Ezana's lightning.
    2. Combo Frederica's Sunfall with Now...!/In Tandem/Fast Acting Medicine. Works with any channeling skill, but IMO Frederica has the best one.
    3. Use the Lightwave quietus or Quahaug's Warped Space to position Erador for the ideal King's Shield
    4. To level up weak units, use Lightwave or Warped Space to yeet them onto a safe tile somewhere out the way and have them sit there using the cheapest item every turn.
    5. The accessory that raises stats on kill works great on Frederica and synergizes with her TP on kill, making her possibly the most consistent and best DPS character in Hard mode
    6. Enemy mages and healers are often the most annoying to deal with. Use Archibald's Inescapable Arrow, along with attack buffs, TP battery and Now...!/In Tandem/Fast Acting Medicine to reliably two-shot them from across the map.
    7. If you park a unit at the high end of a ladder, it will often break the AI of melee enemies, including some bosses. They will just sit at the foot of the ladder and do nothing. You can artificially set this up with Jens' ladders as well.
    8. Conserve TP when you can for the big skills that cost 3-5 TP. For example, yes, Geela can heal every turn, but it's often better to save up 5 TP to to set up auto revives than heal units with 80% HP or damages units who are out of enemy range anyway, or Benedict who can who CAN use Bulwark or Bird of Prey every turn, but his 3-4 TP skills are the real game changers. Have characters use spice items on themselves or allies to have them accumulate TP while still contributing.
    9. Preempt the usage of aoe heal or buff skills. Got multiple damaged units? Line them up in front of Geela or Cordelia so you get good value out of the AOE heal.
    10. Often you'll face annoying enemies like archers perched on rooftops or other high elevation perches. Lightwave or Warped Space a unit like Erador or Roland up there and knock down the enemies. Rudolf can even knock down the enemy unit then claim the spot as his own sniper's nest (sit on top of the ladder square like in tip #7)

      5. That is exactly what I do. Red Anklet + TP+ + Clear Skies + Burning Chains will allow her to one-shot nearly anyone once per round, every round (or two with a double-turn granting ability). It's great! I love mages.

    That tip on conviction is certainly interesting. I noticed that when trying to convince an ally to change their mind, sometimes the locked conversation wasn’t the correct one to sway them. This is especially true in threads where there are two conversation choices for a character (seems mostly Benedict and Anna) It’s so hard to put a finger on what will work, but you can certainly ‘feel’ it in the direction of the conversation. I think that system is pretty brilliant. I noticed I chose red for two in a row at the scales, so I purposely tried to go a different route. I was out voted twice on my initial play-through so far. I’m in chapter 14 now

      decimal needs 1600 morality. with convictions a black box in NG, taking generally moral/green choices are your only real method. you can gauge how high your morality convictions are by how easy to persuade to taking green choices, units are during scales sections. if it says, you might as well talk to stone walls to get people to pick green, then you aren't anywhere near getting decimal.

    These tips are so great! I just started Triangle Strategy 2 days ago and your 2 videos have been a huge help. I would love a video all about conviction, such as all the things you can do to raise each of the 3. Some of them aren't obvious, like talking to NPCs, picking (or not picking) the recommended units, examining objects, leaving enemy units alive, etc. You could also go into how some characters require a certain amount of conviction to be recruited, how in NG+ you can apparently check your conviction levels (from what I hear, I haven't beaten the game yet), etc.
    You could also do a video about all the ways to earn Kudos. Some of them aren't obvious, like attacking from a safe space, healing 3 units at once, targeting an enemy's weakness, etc. Then you could give your best tips on how to maximize your kudos, or grind for them in mock battles if you have any!

    Frederica makes a good mid to late battle variant of multi turn destruction in short time due to her ability to gain TP upon enemy defeat as it takes Julio out of the equation completely as by mid battle being able to finish enemies with her should be easy. as long as she finishes an enemy with a 2 TP spell (most of her moves) she gains 1 from the weapon ability and gains the second back upon her next turn for zero net loss in TP. this also allows you to do this without the enemies even being clumped up next to one another.

    • @pul0y
      @pul0y 2 года назад +1

      On higher difficulty, this doesn't happen as reliably as you want. When you start getting items for elite promotion, it's better to use one on corentin so he gains tp just by standing on ice. Have someone throw an icestone on him turn 1 and always keep him on ice and he can hit every turn. He hits for less, but he can gain tp more easily than frederica late game.

  • @schaughtful

    Note;
    1) use the red anklet with that mage strat,
    2) or with that Now! /followup counter combo with Anna or Roland (using double attack)
    3) or that with the item tossing girl to create choke points in open maps with large oil and large fire pellet.
    4) to block enemies climbing up a single cell/ladder, or across a single gap, just set Anna to invisible on the cell they would have to cross to. They’ll never detect her, and they cant pass her.

    I think the best strategy here is holding choke points. Some can be a little hard to notice like in the mines when so many elevation are close together its a little hard to see. Holding the middle of the bridge during the last chapter for a CERTAIN ending REALLLLYYYY helped me breeze that battle.

    Oh I thought of a potential idea to help level up weaker characters. The game typically allows for 9 characters per map, but I've seen this number increase to 12 before, so there's chances that you'll be using some of your weaker characters. If there's a weaker character that you want to level up quickly, just select a mock battle with the highest recommended level. If your character is weak enough, they will gain a new level with each action. The action literally doesn't matter. My level 5 Julio was gaining a level every time he used a skill or even just used his weapon (it didn't need to kill). In fact, if you use Corentin's ice wall, this is an obstacle that your characters can attack. Therefore you can have your weaker characters break these ice walls over and over again to continuously gain levels until they catch up.

    • @pul0y
      @pul0y 2 года назад +1

      If the aim is just to level up to be ready for a main story battle, the highest rec level battle you are likely to have access to at any point in time is the main story battle that you are prepping for in the first place so there is often no need to visit Hossabara unless you need resources to upgrade items and buy stuff. Outside of certain maps (staring at you ch1 battle), *you can retreat at any time even in main story battles* when it is your unit's turn to move. You can thus apply any grinding strategy you would use in the mental battles to the main battle itself.

    I'm just going into the battles in chapter 18 and still haven't used quietus a single time. I thought about it in one battle but it wasn't the right time for it and just now remembered they exist at all. But a very intuitive system to be able to use considering that many players forget it exists because it's in a menu people rarely if ever go into. It should be another tab in the action menu like items are - or something else that's apparent

    I like having vanguard scarf on Benedict and using twofold turn on Anna who will usually go 2nd or 3rd so she can get really far into enemy lines, deal some damage and then take cover. Also you can use the battle cry quituse to max out her TP so she can slumber stab an archer or something then take cover

    Nice tips overall, but the strategy of:

    1. Use lightwave after Erador or Bloodshield taunted a bunch of enemies to yeet him toward your main forces. All of them will be forced to pursue him and became super easy prey. Mages take priority, obviously. Also, set up charging spells while you`re at it.
    2. When taking a mock battle, there is a reward shown on screen. What`s isn`t obvious is that it`s not completion reward, it`s a sum of spoils that litter the battlefield. You have to pick them one by one while also thinking of objective to get that reward. Earlier on it`s a single spoil, but later it`s divided among a dozen of them, and they are not always equal. So, take notice what you get to prioritize larger spoil next time. Enemy drops are extra.
    3. Narve and Ezana get free magical defence reduction on hit eventually. Use them before other casters to weaken strong foes.
    4. Ways to make strong enemies skip a turn: quetus ability, Jens traps, paralyze effect from Narve and Ezana (unreliable, but you`re going to hit them anyway). Stopping enemy hero is very helpfull, so it`s a good idea to invest into those 3.

  • @centaurianox

    Using a Provoke type ability on enemy healers/mages forces them to melee attack the provoker instead of using their heals/spells.
    Beware, because this also works for the enemy team's provokers against your own healers/mages!

  • @pul0y
    @pul0y 2 года назад +2

    Another nuke variant (especially if you don't have a fast Julio or missed all the speed rings/amulets from the provisioner and itinerant merchant): *Use 2 different mages/nukers* (or 3 or 4, why not). Have Narve (best for this) or Ezana with vanguard scarf and have them blast the enemies. This also lowers their magic defense due to their passive (if a high enough level). Have Benedict use Now, Medina with speed meds, or In Tandem, on another mage fully kitted out in magic bracelet/black anklet/obsidian bracelet and let them blast on the now more vulnerable enemies. Then use your remaining turn order manip shenanigans to do it again. This saves you from having to give someone TP whilegiving great damage output potential. Narve with cast range +1 and Corentin with move +1, or anyone else +movement bangle makes this tactic more flexible as you won't (hopefully) having to fight for that one tile that allows you to hit the same group of enemies at the edge of your range. Also, don't hesitate to use the Quietus Battle Cry to regen TP especially when just grinding. Removes the need for a TP battery in routine work.
    Bonus: If you have a 3rd promo Corentin, never forget to toss an icestone his way before he moves during main story battles. You will appreciate the extra tp.

      In addition, I advice not to be afraid to try out your strategies even in main story battles by performing them ..and then retreating *aka PRACTICE* because retreat is almost always an option that has no drawbacks. Say that you want to pull off a combo at the very start of a battle but aren't sure of where to place the relevant units or if it is even possible considering starting position, unit movement, range, and terrain (obstruction, elevation change, or movement malus in snow or whatever, you can experiment unit placement), try to carry out your plan, see if you got ranges correct, and then retreat and adjust if necessary. You can even let it proceed a bit further and see if any units survive and how the AI behaves and if your nuker will be in considerable danger and if you will have to arrange for some protection or immediate follow-up healing (or consider the resurrection earring if you really want to be gungho).

    • @pul0y
      @pul0y 2 года назад

      @@89Games Go ahead! It is still better to have Julio around for the buff+tp which can only help you deal more damage when given to the full dmg kitted out followup nuker, but it is more forgiving this way.

    Might help to mention which difficulty these strategies can be applied to.
    I'm not so sure about the triple AOE casts being effective, when playing on 'Hard' difficulty.
    A strat that helps keep your units levels even, without grinding, is to only use the lowest level units for mock battles.

    • @pul0y
      @pul0y 2 года назад +1

      the triple spell marathon mentioned here was suggested by me and was thought up in hard. i have only ever played the full game in hard mode. bringing down bosses and even mob units quickly is very useful in hard difficulty coz you want the breathing room fast. imagine the handful of final chapters where you are surrounded or very near to puppets that have strong melee attacks and relatively high speed (among the first 5 to move), you want to kill them off as quick as you can. this specific triple cast was thought up during the thalas and erika bridge fight where thalas is right behind you and erika in front and both can hit you within 1-2 turns, right along their accompanying mobs. vanguard scarf/magic amulet narve just 3-shotted thalas with spark on my first playthrough. so it really works.

    • @gnerkus
      @gnerkus 2 года назад

      @@pul0y Ah! You played that path too! My strategy for that boss was the opposite: I took my time and shielded almost everyone via Corentin. I was hoping to counter the boss to death but I got tired.
      I'll try out the triple cast tactic. I thought the enemies, especially bosses, were too thick for quick kills. I usually clean out the adds first.

    • @pul0y
      @pul0y 2 года назад +1

      @@gnerkus they most likely won't fall fast but thalas has lightning weakness so he was especially vulnerable. but in that puppet map, i eliminated all the puppets within 3 decimal moves as their hps were multiples of 4. i trialed decimal with various magic atk accessories to find out which configuration gave him a damage that is a multiple of 4, too, such that he can just continuously spam hp4 to kill them in 3 moves. erador+lightwave then king's shield then took care of the clumped mages and that map was a relatively easy clear after that. no deaths.
      anyway the recent variation i mentioned in an earlier comment of using narve+vanguard scarf to hit first, then use now/in tandem/speed meds on a different fully kitted out dps mage dishes out more mdmg.

    • @gnerkus
      @gnerkus 2 года назад

      @@pul0y NICE!
      I love Decimal too but I haven't put in half as much work as you. I have so much to learn and experiment with.
      I usually pick the most defensive strat and prevent deaths but the battles take way longer. I reckon I'd have yeeted all my characters off the bridge in that battle. I just might (still ch 9 in ng+).

    • @pul0y
      @pul0y 2 года назад +1

      @@gnerkus decimal is very situational; but when he does find suitable targets, he can hit at least 5 units easily, it seems. Next time I try the bridge, I would lightwave decimal to beneath the bridge and then height5 everyone to death.

    1. Medina.
    2. Benedict next to Medina
    3. Corentin on ice next to Benedict and Medina
    4. Put geela there for overkill
    Have Benedict use two fold turn on medina. Have medina use double items whenever available (usually twice per turn so 4 items per turn) have medina chuck ranged reco pellets on the group, everyone gets tp including Medina and benedict, which allows for more two fold turn double items group tp recharging. Corentin on ice gets 2 tp at the start of a turn plus Medina’s items, you could spam ice shield as much as you’d like and paired with Geela’s auto revive spell, no one will die ever. You can really do anything with medina and benedict next to eachother. Spam full tp sunfall then have benedict use now!, infatuate the entire enemy army and watch them defeat themselves with Milo’s weapon ability? Put serenoa/julio there for more tp recovery?
    Tldr: Medina best girl
