The last good show from Disney was That's So Raven. I didn't care for Hannah Montana or any show after that. I also grew up with Lizzie McGuire and I watched the movie as well. Lizzie McGuire and That's So Raven are my top two shows from Disney ever.
The elementary school I went to literally organized an entire field trip for my 3rd grade class to go see the Hannah Montana movie in theaters it was so amazing. It was like a whole event there was a long ass line outside the theater right when they opened. It was so cool they had a Hannah Montana lookalike go up infront of the packed theater and they would call kids up from different parts of the crowd to go upfront and fake Hannah gave us all a tutorial on how to do the hoedown throw down dance . They’re were literally inflatable beach balls being tossed all throughout the theater. And at the very end of the movie when Hannah was performing the song “ you’ll always find your way back home “ They released gold confetti in the theater it was amazing. In honestly that happiest moment of my childhood
As a black woman I completely understand how no one recognizes her with a wig on because anything I go from natural to wig or braids or literally any hairstyle everyone act like they don’t know who tf I am. So it makes sense to some degree.
Billie Elish did this when she had green roots to black hair. At some point it became a hassle to constantly dye & upkeep it. So she got wig to replicate it. She was blonde under it. She would go out as a blonde and nobody recognized her cause they associated her with green hair. It was also a hidden in plain sight kind of thing. Slowly her fans caught on tho & she came clean about it. So the Hannah Montana secret identity is not far fetched.. People make fun of it but it works 👀
They can say what they want about the movie but the soundtrack and Disney nostalgia makes up for it all for me. Also yes Hoedown Throwdown was a hit in middle school in dance class 😂😂😂🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Yall thought it was stupid but let it be known we was crying in the theaters when the breakups happened between Miley and Travis and the dad and his girlfriend😂😂😂
they’re only acting like that because they’re together and u know how boys try to out alpha each other by acting like everything they see is stupid because it’s unrealistic…. it’s… a movie it’s supposed to be dramatic
I was in the theater for The Lizzie McGuire Movie, High School Musical 3, and The Hannah Montana Movie. I may have some regrets. Lizzie McGuire was an amazing introduction to my teens. HSM was my High School years. At 18, I loved this movie, but Emily was a better actress in this one, hands down. If you haven't already check out The Last Song. It's one of Miley's better movies.
Taylor wrote the song "you'll always find your way back home" that Hannah/Miley sings It's a funny online thing for fans to laugh that a whole town didn't tell her secret & none of the hometown characters or her manager aren't in the last season of the show.
I watched this in the theater 3 times bc of course I did. Cried every time. Then sang the song Miley sings with Billy Ray with my own father at a talent show. Hannah Montana was my whole personality from 10 to 13 💕🙌🏻 this movie is GOLD
I saw Hannah Montana: The Movie in theaters with my best friend for her 10th birthday. We did the Hoedown Throwdown dance in our aisle as the credits rolled. I was the target demographic for this film. It got me hook, line, & sinker. I also saw HSM 3 in theaters and it was a super fun experience.
Egregious that’s quite the word!!! Of course I grew up watching the show, but the movie definitely brought that Disney nostalgia back for me in FULL FORCE🙌🏽 This will always be apart of my childhood❤️
At the end of the tv show it is revealed that the movie was cannon in the universe bc she says who knew before she stopped being hannah and she says ‘my entire childhood hometown’
I begged my parents to see this movie in theaters and best believe I teared up during the ending! My mom’s job also gave us free tickets to her best of both worlds tour around that time.. it was my first ever concert and I’ll never forget how much fun it was 😂

Me and Billy had the same reaction to that line dance scene. I ain’t ever heard that one and I never wanna hear it again. LOL. Cali school dances were lit
This was in the theaters in 2009 and I went with my mom to see it. It was one of the best days of my life. I also was at the 2007 Best of Both Worlds tour. I was the hugest fan of Disney stars and movies back when I was a little kid. For me, this movie, Camp Rock, and all three HSMs were the best.
I haven't watched this since I was 13. I thought I was a huge Hanna Montana fan when I was six, but by the time I was seven, it was over🤣 thank you Billy ❤️
You get the bestttttt of both worlds, I absolutely loved this reaction. My mother took my brothers and I to the movies to go see this movie, and I remember hearing the climb for the first time and six year old me, couldn’t stop crying 😂
21:19 anyone else notice that one of the two daughters of the English reporter is Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) from Stranger Things? She was 14 years old in this movie.
You can't convince me that this wasn't supposed to be the series finale, but then they got renewed at the very last minute for yet another season and that's why that awful ending happened smh
Lorddddd growing up in the south my friends and I were Obsessed with this movie. All of us were major Taylor Swift fans in her early albums, and we all still adore Rascal Flatts 😭😭 We’d be dancing along to the Hoedown Throwdown in front of the tv in my dad’s room. We really thought we ate too 😬 Loved this reaction!! Unrelated kinda, but when I was like six I went to my dad crying because all of my blue-eyed blonde-haired friends were going to dress up as Taylor Swift for Halloween and I felt like I shouldn’t be involved because I was the only one who had brown skin and dark brown hair. My dad helped me make an outfit anyways, and my friends all hyped me up about it. I actually really enjoyed where I grew up. The south is so hit or miss, but my hometown was wonderfully open. This movie brings me straight back to my childhood there 😅
my mom and nana took me to see this in the theater when i was little and i remember them cracking up at me on the part where she asked them not to tell anybody her secret and i practically screamed in that theater “the whole world already knows”💀
Hannah Montana: The Movie achieved commercial success, grossing $155 million in worldwide box office revenue against a $30 million budget. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Cyrus' acting but noted that it failed to differentiate itself as a feature film.
The hoedown throwdown took over the electric slide at school dances. I was a little older than the target audience so I sort of missed it but I witnessed it 😂 and I was living in Ireland at the time so yea it hit EVERYWHERE.
I like the movie way better than the TV series shows. But it was good, and I liked it. I'd love to see Billy in a cowboy hat. You both are amazing. Nice reaction.
I am from Lexington, Kentucky, and currently live there. Although I was living in Georgia when this movie came out. I was 16 when this movie came out. The blonde hair boy (Lucas Till) lived in the next county over from me and I remember it being a big deal at the time. Didn't know Movies In Depth was from Kentucky.
I have a very distinct memory of going to see this in theaters! My best friend and I were in middle school and her mom took us. I remember The Climb was everywhere that year. I still love watching this movie!
It's the fact that Billy and his friend have the exact same laugh, every time they laugh I can't help but laugh ❤️🔥❤️ love u Billy and yall drink yall water 💦
The song "Hoedown" was really popular here in England as well. One of my classes in Secondary school (High school) was dance and we actually performed this song in one of our shows and this was in the year 2015-2016. So about 6-7 yrs after this movie was released and yes it was on at our school disco's as well. Couldn't escape the song!
#Bingers Definitely need some Cheetah Girl and Lemonade Mouth reactions it will be sooo funny. I also recommend watching The Last Song, another Miley Cyrus movie, but with a little less cringey acting lol
I was in my “I’m too cool for what’s popular “ phase when the movie came out so I didn’t get into it like a lot of people but I definitely remember The Ho-down throw down being EVERYWHERE lol You have no idea how hard it is to walk in heals on grass! Your heal will dig right into that grass every step if you’re not careful lol
Designated Villain: Mr. Bradley in the movie is treated as a villain just because he wants to build a mall. *He doesn't even do anything villainous.* The only passibly mean thing he does is taunt the town people they won't be able to stop him building that mall. Which is Stupid Evil, because those people are his potential customers. Miley actually thinks the mall development is a good idea at first before being told down by her grandmother.
I remember hating the fight with Lily cuz I was like why are you mad when you know she’s a pop star she has a whole career things come up. She was just being bitter 😂
Plus can you imagine how cool you’d be for having a famous pop star show up to and perform a song at your birthday party?? I agree Lil was a bit quick to flip out
In GA and 14 years old in 2009..this movie and Hoedown Throwdown song was sooo good 😅😆😆 I mean I still liked Disney shows anyway older, but that song was just catchy and easy to do since it was supposed to be for kids. It was a kid show 😆😆😆 And I had the BIGGEST crush on Travis haha
I remember going to see this in theaters when I was a kid. I wasn't a huge fan of Hannah Montana (I was always more into SpongeBob and other cartoons), but one of my cousins was OBSESSED with this show and Miley Cyrus. She was the reason why I saw this in theaters in the first place 😆😅
Not only did I see this in theaters for my birthday, but I also got the Hannah Montana The Movie game for DS at some point and I just played it again recently. The concerts are oddly fun in the game. Hoedown Throwdown will always be a bop.
Country music is something else man… I turned it on the other day and The House That Built Me had me bawling in the car. Not me having an existential crisis while driving.
I watched this film in theatres, I bought the CD and the album when it came out, and I still watch it as a guilty pleasure every now and then, I even still remember the whole dance scene, I just love it so much, Hannah Montana is my whole childhood 🥰
Lol I have to comment because the storyline with the creepy guy. He's so persistent because he's a reporter and his boss wanted a big story on her and since he heard she has a secret he was trying to figure out what it was 🤣 his daughters came into the mix only because they are super fans
Billy hides it well, but he relates to this movie because of all the times he's had to go undercover. Not many people know about the many trips Billy has been on as a completely different person. The burden of being an international celebrity. Although, Billy hasn't reached the pinacle of success, because even though I've told him too many times, he still hasn't contacted me. Oh well, I guess Billy wants to remain humble. I understand that level of success would corrupt Billy. Props to Billy for wanting the humble life.
About the wig, I'm mixed Thai. Had 40inches of hair and got it cut to my shoulders and people I've known for years didn't recognise me. My mum walked straight past me in a store when I was blonde as well 🤣
😂🙋🏾♀️As a big head, 27 year old woman, from the "fried chicken community", the Ho Down Throw Down will always be a BOP. But Taylor's song "Crazier" was my favorite part of this movie
9:37 I still enjoy the Disney channel shows I grew up with such Hannah Montana, That’s So Raven, Zack and Cody, Proud Family, and Phil of the Future, and several other shows and I have no shame of that.
Yes I did actually see this in theaters lol, Hannah Montana was an icon when I was a kid, pretty much all the girls at school were listening to her music.
You best believe the hoedown throw down was played at every school dance / sleepover and everyone knew the choreography. The pull this movie had on us in Australia was wild 😂
The way I lived and breathed hannah montana as a kid! I was a blonde girl with bangs and yet I had like 15 wigs🙈 me and my dad watched the show together all the time, it was our version of quality time and we also related to miley and her dads relationship (and my dad loved billy ray)☺️ I also vividly remember watching this movie in the theaters with my dad and us having a full on fan girl moment😂 I don’t care what anyone says I adore this movie and the show with all my heart and always will❤️ I also remember watching a tutorial for the hoedown throwdown choreagraphy from youtube in my bedroom and trying to learn it😂 I had a really crappy day today and seeing you react to something dear from childhood really put a smile on my face, thank you❤
These two together make the best movie commentaries ever. They are soo hilarious together. I was literally rolling on the floor 😂😂😂😂 through out the entire video. They need to make more videos together because they are 🔥. Love also that they got together to review my fav childhood movie, 10 year old me loved this movie soo much and i swear ever song in this movie was a bop.
As someone who grew up with depression, the song “the climb” had a great impact on me when I was younger. I now have it tatted on my wrist as an adult ❤️.

Not only did I see this in theaters for my birthday, but I also got the Hannah Montana The Movie game for DS at some point and I just played it again recently. The concerts are oddly fun in the game.
Hoedown Throwdown will always be a bop.
I love that rascal flats is in this movie. 16:19
H.E.R is literally unrecognizable without her glasses so I believe Hannah would have gotten away with the wig😂
Country music is something else man… I turned it on the other day and The House That Built Me had me bawling in the car. Not me having an existential crisis while driving.
I swear they didn't even mean to cast Tyra. They just had Hannah go into a store for a scene and Tyra happened to be there 😂😂😂
I watched this film in theatres, I bought the CD and the album when it came out, and I still watch it as a guilty pleasure every now and then, I even still remember the whole dance scene, I just love it so much, Hannah Montana is my whole childhood 🥰
Lol I have to comment because the storyline with the creepy guy. He's so persistent because he's a reporter and his boss wanted a big story on her and since he heard she has a secret he was trying to figure out what it was 🤣 his daughters came into the mix only because they are super fans
Sometimes I remember paying actual money to see this in theaters and get physically ill 🤣
That country song dance was a bop😂😂
😅😆The Hannah vs Tyra Banks fight was always my favorite scene. But rewatching this movie as an adult makes me question so many things
I’m slow as hell and thought you meant billy ray
💀
@@Unknown69846 LOL. If you want the fame, Google my name and get in touch. I can make you a star.
About the wig, I'm mixed Thai. Had 40inches of hair and got it cut to my shoulders and people I've known for years didn't recognise me. My mum walked straight past me in a store when I was blonde as well 🤣
My 12 year old self loved this movie! Especially since I was way into country music and loved all the 'cameos'
28:00 And the guy trying to build a mall in this movie is Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick) from Rocky Horror Picture Show, 1975
Billy they taught us the dance ON DISNEY CHANNEL in between the commercials. We all knew the dance !
The Hoedown Throw down dance took over my elementary school days🤣🤣we all were dancing to this song and had fun💗
And also the movie is one of my favorites and I don't care what no one says The climb is one of the best songs and it always leaves me in tears
You best believe the hoedown throw down was played at every school dance / sleepover and everyone knew the choreography. The pull this movie had on us in Australia was wild 😂
All the way I’m Australia! That’s insane but I love it!
Oh absolutely. Was with some work friends a couple of weeks ago and we threw the song on and everyone (aged between 22-30) knew the choreography 😂
The way I lived and breathed hannah montana as a kid! I was a blonde girl with bangs and yet I had like 15 wigs🙈 me and my dad watched the show together all the time, it was our version of quality time and we also related to miley and her dads relationship (and my dad loved billy ray)☺️ I also vividly remember watching this movie in the theaters with my dad and us having a full on fan girl moment😂 I don’t care what anyone says I adore this movie and the show with all my heart and always will❤️ I also remember watching a tutorial for the hoedown throwdown choreagraphy from youtube in my bedroom and trying to learn it😂
I had a really crappy day today and seeing you react to something dear from childhood really put a smile on my face, thank you❤
These two together make the best movie commentaries ever.
18 seconds in and It's on my fave serotonin-producing playlist
As someone who grew up with depression, the song “the climb” had a great impact on me when I was younger. I now have it tatted on my wrist as an adult ❤️.
Hannah Montana is One of my favorite shows I've watched since childhood and it's one of my comfort shows
The love interest is played by Lucas Till. He went on to be An X-Man and more importantly, MacGyver in the rebooted series.
I can't believe they went so far thinking the bad guy was in to get his girls to see Hannah lol. Cause that was not... the plan
