Fun fact: Miley used to be just a nickname because she smiled a lot as a kid, and it rhymes with "smiley". Her birth name is Destiny Hope Cyrus. She had it legally changed in 2006
if i understand correctly it was so that she could legally be the owner of the songs she sang under disney or at least be seen as the performer under the eyes of the law or something
@@TheGabygaelfunny cause she had mentioned when she was younger she liked Miley better than destiny when it first came out while she was still hannah.
Fun fact: The last song in the movie (You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home) was written by Taylor Swift. I think that shows what you guys were saying earlier about how you can see why Taylor is as big as she is now since you seemed to like that song the most out of all the “Hannah” songs.
(00:02:50 timestamp reply) It's implied in the show that Robby uses his money from his country music career to provide for his kids; there's a whole episode where Jackson finds out he's going to inherit a lot of money someday. In terms of Hannah money, it's implied that Robby keeps it separately for her; there is an episode where she asks for a raise in allowance, phrased as "a little extra Hannah money." I think she just doesn't have full control of her own money because, well, she's a child, but also because of the whole "just a normal girl" thing. But contrary to popular belief, I do not think she's the breadwinner in the Stewart family.
Also, it's mentioned multiple times on the show that Robby writes several songs for Hannah, which would mean that he earns money from that. He's able to provide for the kids and get some sort of (additional) income that way, and Miley gets to sing his songs and earn her own money. It's really a win-win for both.
if you weren't aware, the song she sang during the concert is the opening song of the show there's a joke amongst fans that all of the songs she sings as hannah either hint at her dual persona or are a reference to her personal life
It’s the way it’s shot I think. Because it’s not some revolutionary scene by any means, but I agree with you- I can picture it in my head instantly as I read your comment

The band singing on the porch is indeed the country band Rascal Flatts. They were really popular at the time and it was a surprise to see they were even in a tween movie. Miley grew up in the city too…. Lol her dad was famous first even in the show so she wasn’t always in Crowley corners. She moved out to California again when she started singing. So she was a baby and toddler in CC going back and forth, then lived there when her dad retired, then 5 years later moved back to California to be Hannah and go to school. If you watch the whole show it kinda gives you a timeline. So she really only had 5 years of Crowley corners and she’s 15-18 in the show 😊

I think adolescents who knew each other as little kids not recognising each other as teens after a long separation, isn’t so unusual. When I was 15 I bumped into my childhood best friend. We hadn’t seen each other since we were 11 and I did not recognise her. She recognised me though. I guess puberty changed her more than I had at that point? Or my memory is terrible. People can change drastically in a small length of time though
Nah, I understand why they can't relate. They both look young for their age. For someone who look young for their age, their change wasn't obvious, but for someone who actually look their age, the difference were obvious. Best example in my life, my sister. She's 25 and still look 15. The only difference was her height. Her face truly didn't change much since she was three. Everyone who saw her toddler photo definitely would say she didn't change that much at all.

I may have grown up in the South (Louisiana), but I've only done a little line dance myself; still tho, I've been exposed to it a bit. As long as the steps are repeating, you can pick up the dance pretty on the spot and get into the rhythm. Some moves/combinations are fairly common. You gotta also predict where the song is going, too, if you don't know the song. It'd be a little harder for an improvised song, but not impossible; as long as there ain't any abrupt changes~ It helps that most the song is her naming the steps. If you line dance often enough, you get real good at picking things up quickly^.^ (It does appear just a *little* too clean, especially the people towards the back could be maybe a little more off~ BUT it's a movie~^.^) Have either of you seen Footloose? I'd recommend absolutely the original, first & foremost, but the remake is not horrible and has a pretty good line dance part^.^
I appreciate that you agree with not normalizing boys are mean cause they like you. My daughter is 7 and a little boy keeps telling her they are getting married but hes a brat to her more often than nice. So we keep having conversations about how we don't marry boys who are mean to us and don't treat us right!
I loved this movie when it came out (I was 13 and saw it at the cinema) and, to be honest, I still love it nowadays. I might have teared up at the end of this reaction. One of the best DCOMs, and I looooove the soundtrack so much. It’s one of those films that stays with you forever for me. Such a feel-good comfort movie. And I also loved the Taylor appreciation🫶🏻✨ she actually wrote “You Always Find Your Way…”!
Y’all talking down the hoedown throwdown is not going to fly LMAO it is hip hop inspired with country instruments. that’s what she meant. It’s an iconic song lol 😂
I hadn't seen this since it premiered essentially so I didn't realize who the daughter was until you mentioned noticing her from somewhere. I literally went back and looked, and it's freaking Nancy from Stranger Things!! Natalia Dyer
I think I feel save in recommending the movie "Honey (2003)" to you, The Movie Budz. You're the right guys for it! Critical reception doesn't matter anyway (as shown for example in your decision to watch Hot Pursuit (2015) or Bride Wars (2009))
LOL Stef singing Scotty Doesn't Know along with Rockstar was so good! Eurotrip is such an odd movie, but I have to admit I still kind of love it, mostly just because of nostalgia.
So bizarre rewatching this movie more than a decade later because I’m like “wait is that Tyra?? Is that Jan from the office??? Taylor swift was in this???”
In the show he actually doesn’t make money off her or at least he doesn’t need hers because he is an ex country star in the show too, he was even in a band. He’s still getting his stimulus for the hits he wrote- he also writes her songs for the first half of the series so the money should be half his technically too
as someone who grew up in a very small country town i was definitely just like miley at 16. i wanted to be in the big city and live a glamorous life. now at 22 and pandemic later i would love to live a calm life in the country. i appreciate it a lot more now. also yes it’s definitely a line dance. a line dance can be really anything as long as its repetitive. it’s pretty easy to figure out and follow along.
New York Minute!! I would die! And what I would give for y’all to do alllll the Olsen movies 😂😂😂 loved hearing your comments for this one, I was so surprised to see it! I already enjoyed this movie but the things you pointed out artistically and even structurally from the plot, now I appreciate it even more. ❤
Stef, at 1:07:26 ish when you wonder who the english paparazzo’s daughter is that’s familiar, is that Natalia Dyer aka Nancy from Stranger Things? 😮 edit: I see now Sam figured it out at the end 👍I wouldn’t have noticed had you two not flagged it
my favorite disney channel movie! always makes me cry. when i was younger, especially the parts where Travis catches her & the whole sad mood for the rest of the movie.
Love the comments about the structuring of pop songs and them having the same basic foundations. I loved when Seth Green's character on Buffy used to make fun of this and made like a big thing about the band learning a new chord.
8:43- The main point of this film was getting Miley to remember her roots. She got too caught up in the glamorous life of Hannah Montana and forgot that aspiring, humble country girl from a small town who just wanted to sing. 36:36- I wish Taylor stayed in the country genre. She fits better in it than pop. 54:41- In the show the Hannah secret caused her alot of issues too. Hence why Miley revealed herself in Hannah Montana Forever to the public.
Cool little tidbit, last song of the movie, You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home, was actually written by Taylor Swift and Martin Johnson, the lead singer of Boys Like Girls!
Yessss! Another classic movie!! Also, I got my merch earlier this week and it is SO CUTE AND SO COMFY! Wearing the Pixel Kitty shirt now! :) SO happy to be apart of this channel, and we appreciate all the work you guys do!!
There is "spontaneous" line dancing. The MC is a Caller, and they basically do what Miley did, call out line dancing moves. And people that do line dancing regularly would be able to do something like this
I didnt realize it as a kid but im pretty sure the 'hip-hop' hoedown is because Miley didnt want to sing in front of everyone and expose herself as Hannah Montana, so she did a hoedown (and i suppose the producers would try and act like a rap?) so people wouldnt notice.

The very beginning of Hannah Montana the series was Lily very quickly figuring out her best friend Miley and her favourite popstar are the same person. You’re right that the Clark Kent/superman persona probably doesn’t last long in person. Not like from a distance. She should have just fessed up sooner
I've heard extras for the ending scene say that Miley sang the climb live every time! So it's interesting that you say it looks like she was really singing
OMG THIS IS LITERALLY MOVIE OF MY LIFETIME U DONT GET HOW EXCITED I WAS WHEN THIS NOTIF POPPED UP ! this movie is seriously top 4 on my letterboxd rn 😭
Now thinking about it, I am amazed how much the movie ignored the show. This is not her first relationship. She had a bunch of dates and love interests since season 1. Her first one was jake ryan. Vanessa Williams was not her publisher or manager in the show, but I don’t care about that change. The best change that I wished we saw in the show was the other half of her family. We see one grandmother in the show constantly, but not the one from this film. An episode with both of them would have been great especially during the graduation episode. The scene where Lily was mad was the only part that related to the show, in my opinion aside from the double life component. There were many times that Miley choose Hannah over her friends and they just forgave her every time, but she doesn’t fully learn from those mistakes. The cameos were great. My favorites were Rascall Flatts and Taylor Swift and she did write a couple of songs for the film.
My home town is about 10,000 people, but half of that are all farmers and stuff who live way out of town. We have two supermarkets, IGA and Foodworks. But when I was about 11 a new one opened up and my dad told me years later that the owner literally said “I’m going to take over this town” His shop closed after about a month because NO ONE went there 😂
3:35 I think I would have thought it would just be a reference to her being on stage and pop star sensation but still being a normal person at home and with your friends, I think a lot of famous people can relate to that. I most likely would not have thought she literally had another name and lived life as a non celebrity hahaha 😂
There was something genuinely hilarious about you saying, "She said she's bringing hip-hop?" then the direct cut to your face all close-up to the camera with nothing but sheer confusion. lol
This movie is actually not the first time that Miley Mrs Lily's birthday, they make a deal about it in one of the episodes of the show as well, also the best of both worlds song at the beginning of the film is actually the theme song of the show and in season three of Hannah Montana, she actually does have the bangs and looks more like Hannah Montana ironically.
Love the reaction, this hits me rigth in my nostalgia. I really liked Miley’s last two albums plastic hearts and Endless summer vacation her voice is just beautiful. Now Taylor is my favorite because of her songwriting she is always fine a way to put in to words what I’m feeling and it is funny must people only had heard the radio singles so they create this image without listening to the deep cuts, I loved all her albums but in terms of songwriting my favorite are Red, folklore and evermore
It's crazy how much music can help you heal. Different situation but one that helped me was 'Here Comes a Thought' by Rebecca Sugar. Highly reccomend it 😊 - Stef

If you line dance often enough, you get real good at picking things up quickly^.^ (It does appear just a *little* too clean, especially the people towards the back could be maybe a little more off~ BUT it's a movie~^.^)
Have either of you seen Footloose? I'd recommend absolutely the original, first & foremost, but the remake is not horrible and has a pretty good line dance part^.^
So the girl that you thought was familiar is Natalia Dyer, she plays Nancy in Stranger Things :)
I appreciate that you agree with not normalizing boys are mean cause they like you. My daughter is 7 and a little boy keeps telling her they are getting married but hes a brat to her more often than nice. So we keep having conversations about how we don't marry boys who are mean to us and don't treat us right!
youre a good mum!!
Never seen this but when Tyra started a fight I was, on behalf of everyone infected by ANTM ad a kid, cheering for her to get a beat down haha
I saw it opening weekend at the movie theater
I loved this movie when it came out (I was 13 and saw it at the cinema) and, to be honest, I still love it nowadays. I might have teared up at the end of this reaction. One of the best DCOMs, and I looooove the soundtrack so much. It’s one of those films that stays with you forever for me. Such a feel-good comfort movie.
And I also loved the Taylor appreciation🫶🏻✨ she actually wrote “You Always Find Your Way…”!
Lol Eric from Pretty Much It started singing the Scotty doesn’t know song when him and his sister reacted to this movie
Y’all talking down the hoedown throwdown is not going to fly LMAO it is hip hop inspired with country instruments. that’s what she meant. It’s an iconic song lol 😂
The guy who plays Travis (Lucas Till) was also the love interest in the music video for You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift 🎶
1:07:30 is Stranger things Natalia Dyer, the girl you said looks familiar. 'Assuming that's where you've seen her from'.😅
LOL Stef singing Scotty Doesn't Know along with Rockstar was so good! Eurotrip is such an odd movie, but I have to admit I still kind of love it, mostly just because of nostalgia.
So bizarre rewatching this movie more than a decade later because I’m like “wait is that Tyra?? Is that Jan from the office??? Taylor swift was in this???”
Butterfly Fly Away and The Climb always make me emotional man :')
The Hoedown Throwdown was EVERYWHERE. I even tried to learn the dance. And failed at that. But it was so big.
The Climb is one of the best Disney songs of all time!!
“You’ll always find your way back home” SLAPSSSSS…and it was written by Taylor swift
“Funny that my first exposure to that song was a fucking danny phantom amv...” lmao as a huge DP fan, that comment totally blindsided me...
😮 edit: I see now Sam figured it out at the end 👍I wouldn’t have noticed had you two not flagged it
That is indeed rascall flatts!! life is a HIGHWAY!!! Love that you two covered this movie this is so fun
I saw this movie in theatres as a kid and I’ll admit I still listen to some of the soundtrack to this day 😂 love it. Hoedown Throwdown is iconic!
my favorite disney channel movie! always makes me cry. when i was younger, especially the parts where Travis catches her & the whole sad mood for the rest of the movie.
One of the paparazzi’s daughters is the actor from stranger things
As someone from a musical family at gatherings we always have a mic and SOMEONE always pulls out a guitar😂.
And people that do line dancing regularly would be able to do something like this
I lost it at the part where Sam sang then completely changed his voice when he said "I'll get you back." lol
Thanks dude! 😁 - Sam
1:07:30 that’s Natalia Dyer, probably most famous for playing Nancy Wheeler on Stranger Things!!
19:45 To be fair, in children's media girl characters do that more often (iCarly, Jimmy Neutron, Hey Arnold).
Fun fact: Taylor Swift actually wrote the final song "Hannah" sings !!
the girl on the right (One of the British sisters) is Nancy from stranger things, she's from Nashville and went to an Acting school there.
29:07 'this persons walnuts' is wild out of context 😂
ive been watching yall for 2 years especially in prolly the most rock bottom part of my life but when i watch ur reactions to a movie i watched or rlly like it boosts my mood fr thank u💪🏼❤
Glad we could be there for you 😊 - Sam
Miley ate tf outta the climb and I still look it up too this day 😂😂😂😂
One of the daughters of the paparazzi guy is Natalia Dyer, she plays Nancy Wheeler in Stranger Things :)
I love your channel and everything but what I like the most compared to other similar channels is how emotionally mature and good vibes u guys are:) greetings from Honduras 🇭🇳
The very beginning of Hannah Montana the series was Lily very quickly figuring out her best friend Miley and her favourite popstar are the same person. You’re right that the Clark Kent/superman persona probably doesn’t last long in person. Not like from a distance. She should have just fessed up sooner
44:45 "Have you taken him?" I can't XD
😁🙏 - Sam
03:04 I had to replay this part, I 100% thought Sam said he knew a 'Muggle', and I was completely confused 😂😂 But no, just a 'model'~
This was filmed in my hometown Columbia, TN. My buddies and I would reenact the revolving door scene. We yell at eachother "Travis".
The girl to the right is Natalia Dyer ( NANCY WHEELER) from stranger things !!
Saying Taylor swift is a better performance than Miley has to be one of the craziest shit i ever heard.
23:09 “an actual country act” omg
But when I was about 11 a new one opened up and my dad told me years later that the owner literally said “I’m going to take over this town”
His shop closed after about a month because NO ONE went there 😂
3:35 I think I would have thought it would just be a reference to her being on stage and pop star sensation but still being a normal person at home and with your friends, I think a lot of famous people can relate to that.
Check out Sam rewriting The Climb as a childhood revenge track 😂😂😂😂👏👏👏
Love the reaction, this hits me rigth in my nostalgia. I really liked Miley’s last two albums plastic hearts and Endless summer vacation her voice is just beautiful. Now Taylor is my favorite because of her songwriting she is always fine a way to put in to words what I’m feeling and it is funny must people only had heard the radio singles so they create this image without listening to the deep cuts, I loved all her albums but in terms of songwriting my favorite are Red, folklore and evermore
I listend so much to the climb after my boyfriend broke up with me and I was starting to get up again. This song really helped me.❤
It's crazy how much music can help you heal. Different situation but one that helped me was 'Here Comes a Thought' by Rebecca Sugar. Highly reccomend it 😊 - Stef
Hannah Montana is based on Dolly Parton who wears a wig to go out into public. She’s Miley’s god mother
How did I miss this upload until now?!? This movie is my childhood 😭💕 so excited to watch this!
I screamed when I saw y’all doing this movie!! My childhood is flashing before my eyes 😂💙
Why is no one taking about how the daughter Stef recognized is Nancy from Stanger Things? 1:07:42
the song at the very end called “you’ll always find your way back home” was written by taylor swift
2023 and still mad that The Climb wasn´t even nominated for best song at Oscars and Grammys
That truck looks amazing and very common in the country :b accurate I’d say. And a beaut!
One of my all time feel good movie. The climb in all my playlists. Hannah - and Miley - always in my heart ❤️
I grew up around chickens and after living in the city (especially when you make the change really young) it can definitely make a difference lol
