- I love me some whiskey, and for a special treat I REALLY love Baileys Irish Cream. But did you know that it's super easy to make your own Baileys? Baileys Irish Cream really is a simple combination of cream, Irish whisky, and (as they say on their website) "other flavors".

Those other flavors are hints of vanilla, coffee, chocolate, and Almond. Yes, you read that right, ALMOND. Adding just a touch of almond extract takes this home recipe and makes it indistinguishable from the store bought version.
Homemade Irish Cream Recipe
1 2/3 C Jameson
1C Half & Half (or heavy cream)
14oz sweetened condensed milk
2tbs Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
1/2tsp instant coffee granules or 1/2c coffee

Blend & Enjoy! Store in the refrigerator for up to two months.
Large 33oz Swing-Top Glass Bottles: amzn.to/46YW0VY
Medium 17oz Swing-Top Glass Bottles: amzn.to/3TfoSGk
Small 8.5oz Swing-Top Glass Bottles: amzn.to/3TfoSGk
**Commonly asked questions**
Is making Irish Cream less expensive than buying it:
It depends on where you live! Where I live, a bottle of Bailey's is roughly $18-$20. Jameson is $20-$22. if you double this recipe and use the entire bottle of Jameson, you get TWO bottles of Irish Cream out of it. (Yay, math!) Or, don't double the recipe and be left with half a bottle of Jameson to enjoy on it's own (Yay, whiskey!) The rest of these ingredients are very inexpensive, and many people already have them in the fridge/pantry. Also, you don't HAVE to use Jameson- if you're making this purely for the cost savings, use the least expensive whiskey available to you.
How long will homemade irish cream last:
Up to two months in the refrigerator (and yes it needs to be refrigerated).
Can you make this without alcohol:
I'm sure you can, I just have not tried it personally. I think experimenting with some of the non-alcoholic whisky offerings would be fun, and lend the right amount of spice and texture to this!
Why bother making your own?
Because some of us enjoy the process! Homemade liqueurs are an easy way to control the level of alcohol, sugar, and various other ingredients. Have fun with this- tweak to suit your own tastes!!

I feel like I might be setting myself up to be dragged, but here goes...I don't drink any more. Even so, I still love the flavor of Bailey's (and Kahlua). Can I make this sans alcohol, or is it key to the consistency or something?
No dragging here- people can be cool or GTFO ;) As for a non-alcoholic version, I think it’s absolutely possible, but I have not personally tried it. The absence of the Whiskey will definitely affect the texture, so maybe either add in water, or, use a lighter milk/cream. Also, have you tried any of the N/A whiskeys? This might actually be a great use of those! I did a review a while back with a few options. I think the spice notes of those might actually work really well and give you the festive feel of Bailey’s without the alcohol content. Let me know if you try it!! Cheers!
@@SavidgeKitchen Being out of the alcohol world, I didn't even know there *were* N/A whiskeys!😲 🤯 Whooooo! You've started something now! (*mad scientist hand rub*) I'll try to report back.
@@SavidgeKitchenmaybe add some chocolate milk.
In my city there is a great store that has wonderful mock alcohol. Since it has no alcohol it could be easy to find it on line and maybe some regular stores carry it.
I used to make homemade Kahlua and it was so yummy.
For people who don't know - you can buy caramel condensed milk. Which will probs make the drink most similar to original Baileys.
@ftorftorius5796two reasons to make your own first doing it yourself is fun for some people not everybody I personally like a DIY approach
The other reason is price at least where I live Bailey's is very expensive
Thank you, i did not know
Omg thank you so much. I didn’t know they had that .🙏🏾🙏🏾🥰
I didn't get the caramel condensed milk in India. pls do you have another option ?
@hellfirepictures is that the same as dulce de leche?
The first time, I watched the video out of curiosity. The second and third times, it was to make Irish cream myself. Well, the fourth and fifth times were just to see you enjoy the Irish cream. It's so much fun to watch. And now, after making it myself, I also understand why...
Thanks so much for joining me! It’s a fun little adventure ;) 🥃
I just finished making this recipe and it is spot on! Baileys Over Ice is pretty much the only adult beverage that my wife will partake and she lit up when she tasted it.
A year or so ago, I found a Tropical Bailey's and can honestly say...it was every bit as "dangerous" from a "not getting totally hammered" standpoint as Baileys. I would love a recipe for that, but since self control goes out the window when Bailey's enters the chat, I haven't really tried to find a recipe to make it at home.
Oh, I make my own vanilla with Smirnoff and vanilla beans. Wonder if that would change anything?
Thanks for taking the time to create this video. You’re an excellent presenter.
Thank you for watching!! 🥃
As for the instant coffee granules, I usually dissolve it in the whiskey first thing. It works wonders just melting the granules.
Thank you for the tip have to try
I have made Irish Cream every year for Christmas as gifts to friends. It's so simple and quick. I replaced the extract for Frangelico liqueur and it gives it a nice almondy flavour
Bailey’s here is over $28 a bottle, $56 large bottle.
I’m so excited to try this recipe.
In the uk, Bailey's is about $15
How much is whiskey and other gradients?
Please list me all the ingredients ???
Please list thé ingrédient here
I love Baileys. I drink Baileys while smoking pipe tobacco. Smoking London Blend or American Virginia Perique with a cup of Baileys and slow jazz really make my day joyful.
Being Irish I can say this is the best recipe I've found.
The almond extract nailed it!
Your not Irish. No decent Irish will drink Baileys!
@@alimantado373 We invented it.
What about substitution of almond extract for Disarmano liqueur?
@@alimantado373 And you're no Irishman so you're not - I've no idea how you'd be an authority on the matter!
You are an eejit, tho if that helps? 😆
Thank you for that. Was wondering about that ….
I have a feeling that she gives the best hugs. Any friends of her should be lucky to have her around. I tried this recipe works well.
Awwww, thank you! And I’m so glad the recipe worked great for you!
She does!!! She really is a blessing ♥️
Greetings from Ireland. That looks great, I'm going to try it for sure.
Went to a party and one of the White Elephant gifts was a bottle of this Baileys. When it was my turn I forgot to steal this gift. Asked where they got the recipe and they directed me to this site. Just made my own. It is perfect. This is THE recipe you need. Thank you Savidge Kitchen, great video.
Love this so much! Thanks for sharing!!
A coworker gave us some homemade Irish Cream for Christmas last year. It was so good we asked for the recipe. Pretty much identical to yours. I actually like the taste of the homemade better. I made some and also use it on ice cream! Hoping for more this Christmas.
I like Baileys in my coffee. Lol
Almond extract is a marvelous thing! Sounds like you nailed it Jessica!
Right... 👍
I made mine exactly as you recommended, and it was a total success. That creamy richness, slightly enhanced with coffee and bitter chocolate... I just replaced usual condensed milk with preheated caramel condensed milk (the darker and thicker texture with that caramel goodness); and whiskey with my homemade whey and barley distillate. My wife and her friends told me the result is even better than the original. Thank you so much for this video ❤🎉
Wonderful!! Your version sounds delicious 🥃
I have made this, put it in a nice bottle, placed a bow, and gave it as a gift.
I had lost my recipe and looked up how to make, came across you. Everything is exactly the same except the almond. And I do have some. Thanks, you did a great job.
Just made this myself. Might be because I'm from the UK, but it's more expensive to make this than to just buy a bottle of Bailey's. But not by much. And technically cheaper in the long run if you make it multiple times.
But it's delicious. Actually prefer it over Bailey's. Less of a burn. Will go down a treat as I made it as a Christmas gift. 😊
OMG! I ENJOYED THE HOMEMADE Irish Creme TUTORIAL. I will DEFINITELY try your recipe. I'm a fan of Jameson as well. The presentation from beginning to end was the best. The ingredients were superficial and very inexpensive. You nailed it. Keep up the good work and WEAR YOUR SMILE. YOU WORE IT WELL!!
I'm making this tomorrow. I love a hot cup of coffee with a shot of Baileys.
Just made this AGAIN! Went w/almond extract, followed recipe, blended, then poured into glass bottle to chill in refrigerator for a bit. Impatience overpowered me, so I poured some over scoop of ice cubes, ready to watch BritBox 😜😋 LOVELY! AGREED! Comforting!! MAHALO! 🙏🏻
I made this with condensed coconut milk, Elmlea Plant Cream and a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a shot of espresso instead of instant coffee and everything else the same……OMG! So gooooooooooooood!! ❤
Sounds fantastic!
This looks amazing. After an 80 hour week in the kitchen, my go-to sipping drink was always Baileys over ice. It was the best way to wake up. Coffee, a glass of baileys. Do my errands (I was walking around Seattle). Spend the rest of the day working on a bottle of the Irish Cream, and decompressing after stress laden hell.
This would have saved me thousands of dollars over several years in retrospect haha. Unfortunately, (or fortunately?) I have given alcohol up. Really cool recipe, even if I never get to try it!
6:23 the blend is clear. 6:24 TADAAAA! the blend has the same color as Baileys! What a miracle!!! ^^
Great video -- very creative of you to come up with a homemade version of such an iconic liqueur. Love the idea of a coconut variation as well. Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Jameson was my entry into whiskey also. It's just so good.
Bailey's is awesome in a hot cup of coffee in the winter time tasting awesome and warms you up. Probably would be good in hot cocoa also❤
Thank you!!!! I just made this for the holidays. OMG! IT WAS A HIT. EVERYONEEE loved it and said it taste just like the Baileys from store. Thank you so much for this recipe!❤
Wonderful to hear!!! So glad you enjoyed it 🥰
Really like the way you present your recipe. You are very likable and enjoy I enjoyed the content.
😂Cajun greetings from coastal Mississippi. Love Irish cream and whiskey. Excellent video. My son name is Jameson ❤🎉
My wife has it with her coffee every morning as I do also myself on occasion. We stopped buying Bailey's because of the high price compared to Carolans and Dewey Irish cream but definitely not the same. I will try this recipe and let you know how it goes. Thank you for sharing! :)
Have you tried the homemade Irish cream yet? Does it compare?
I made your recipe it turned out fantastic! I made it to gift it to my friend but I am afraid it's not going to make it to her house. It is so good! Thank you for the recipe.
Thank you so much my wife loves this stuff
You're Simply The Best!
Got my Baileys made tonight. It is so scrumptious...thank you for sharing a great recipe
Coffee with Bailey’s is the best way to drink coffee!
I subbed evaporated milk for the dairy and made a more shelf stable version that was delicious. Also used Jameson cold brew.
I made a lactose free version, so made my own sweetened condensed milk from lactaid whole milk and some Dulce de Leche. Found a lactose free half and half and followed your recipe for one bottle and then a second with 2 tbsp of the dulce de leche. Everyone seems to like the second more. I added it based on your orange hue comment. Might be worth a try.
I don't normally drink wine, beer or the hard stuff. But I do really enjoy a Christmas tradition that I started for myself many years ago of sipping Baileys at Christmas time. But this year I'm having a hard time finding it. So I'm glad to see this recipe. Really good video production and presenter presence, BTW.
People who don’t drink always like to let everyone know. Just like vegans
I finally made this and LOVE it. I had plenty of Jameson and other ingredients. So, I made more! I added more Nescafé and added tbsp of caramel sauce, along with the chocolate sauce. It turned out decadently delicious! Thank you for this recipe/video and for the tips on altering ingredients! Super simple to follow along and super simple to make! Mahalo! 🤙
Wonderful! So glad you enjoyed!
You are adorable, what an awesome recipe. You make it look so easy to do. We're going to try it. Thanks again!!
I’m going to try making this low carb. Evaporated milk instead of condensed milk, brown sugar swerve, and slightly watered down heavy cream(from shelf-stable powder). I’ll compare carbs between whiskey and NA whiskey. Another commenter suggested this recipe is as costly as Bailey’s, or more so. I’m reading responses to a comment about making this NA, such as hot sauce to replace the whisky’s kick.
Curious to hear how it goes! The texture will definitely be different, but different is ok! I love when people make adjustments that work for their particular tastes :)
Excellent video. I will try making Baileys icecream using this recipe.
Oh,oh,oh, that's good... You should be here. Cheers!!!
Thank You I love my Bailey's and Coffee. I'm going to try this!
I love your presence!
Now I'm ready to make Espresso Martini's.
I just finished making this recipe using Raw Sugar and Jameson. I did a taste test with some Baileys and I could not taste a difference. I followed your recipe exactly except I dissolved the coffee in the Jameson before adding in blender. Loved it. Yesterday I made your Kahlua with Bacardi White Rum.
Homemade Bailey Ice Cream with Hot Chocolate melt in the middle puddings is wonderful!! Thanks for this is looks amazing.
I love your presentation. I'm going out to get the ingredients today. Baileys is expensive but I'll make due with your recipe. Thank you your awesome ❤.
Thank you so much!! I hope you enjoy the recipe, and if you only make the half batch I show here, you still end up with coffee, cream and whiskey left over to use up in other ways! Cheers :)
Im irish and i can tell you southern comfort is the best whisky my grandfather drank it mans long dead god rest him..and i drink it fantasico👌
I make mine almost exactly the same, but I also add a little brown sugar. Homemade is sooo much better than Bailey's. btw, this makes a nice Christmas gift for your neighbors.
I saw your video went down the shops bought the ingredients and was drinking it an hour later. I think I will reduce the amount of almond essence next time but excellent base for devoping your own preferences. Thank you 😊
Taste is acquired. Don't be surprised if our home made cream tastes better for some. Good recipe and presentation. I will try adding a pinch of cinnamon and cardamom. Variety is the spice of life. Cheers ❤
Excellent! I made both versions, and they came out yummy! I added xantham gum (1t for the coconut version, 0.5t for the half and half one) just to give it a smoother consistency. Thanks!!!
I tried this on Christmas this year. The Jameson Cold Brew Whiskey and Coffee flavor and it was SO, SO good. Everyone loved it and now I'm off to the store to make it again for family. 😀
Great to hear! 🥃
I made it for our Christmas Eve Party, and just made it now because I wanted it? So delicious. I use Tellymore in mine.
Love the Tullamore! Great alternative 🥃
This just solved my Christmas gift idea for next year. Thank you. I can't wait to try it.
Awesome recipe. Love Baily's in my coffee. Now I can have this treat more often. Be well.
Tried it with Almond & vanilla, love it!
375ml bottle of Jamison was perfect.
so baileys is a holiday drink around here... over ice, in the coffee, over ice cream, you know the drill...Tomorrow we are trying this...Thanks
I'm drinking Bailey's 🍸 Irish cream it's so expensive to purchase but I love it so much
My mother likes to add Bailey's to her coffee and found out during the summer that it is just as delicious in ice coffee as well as hot.
I made this and she's right. It is bang on. I had white creme de cacao so I used a splash of that 4 the chocolat. I used 10% creamo which i thought was plenty rich. And id say start w a 1/4 tsp almond extract because depending on what u have it can get too strong very quickly. Love this and so glad it turned up in my suggestions.
Thanks for sharing this recipe! I normally drink Baileys only at Christmas-from now on it’s going to be Christmas every day!!!
This recipe is super❤️ thank you, I just have made my Irish friends loved it 😍
Look forward to doing this for Xmas gifts this year in lieu of my homemade egg nog. Everyone loves the egg nog but I’m ready to change it up.
Wonderful! I hope it’s a big hit!!
What a delightful presentation, I’m off to buy some Jameson & the other ingredients ❤
Wow. First time on your channel and really enjoyed this vid and your presentation of it all. Well done! It was easy to recognize how much you have enjoyed this drink many, many times 😅. I definitely will try to make this. Now I’m gonna sub and check out the rest of your channel.
😊I love the way you present. Thank you
Thank you so much!
Fantastic recipe thanks 😊
My pleasure 😊
I am definitely going to try this Bailey's is my all time favorites. Thank you!
I made this and it came out great. I’d have trouble telling the difference in a blind taste test. Thanks for a great recipe
My Dad always made our family’s home made punch Hand whisked !
Loved it ❤❤❤❤
An awesome recipe! and very satisfying to watch!
the only problem is it is impossible to ask someone who likes to drink alcohol to prepare this drink, he will never intentionally mix Jameson and condensed milk :-)
I make this every Christmas and it usually lasts the entire year even sharing. I use this exact recipe with almond flavoring. I also use heavy cream and less Jameson’s, but that’s because I’m not really into alcoholic beverages. I do like it in my coffee occasionally or a hot chocolate.
Lovely! One of my favorite things about homemade liqueurs is that you can adjust them to suit your own tastes 🥰
You say you use this all year? Is the shelf life that good? I’m assuming it is refrigerated ? Or did I misunderstand and you make it several times throughout the year?
I am not much of a drinker, but my Irish cream in my coffee is a must and the occasional toddy too. Irish cream or Coureur des Bois with Milk and ice cubes. Coureur des Bois is maple syrup based. We buy it in Canada, have not seen it in the states but that does not mean they don’t have it. It is VERY worth getting…..yummy!
Love it and we only had cheap Canadian whiskey and it still came out delicious
I just made this ,and turned out really nice, thanks so much for sharing 😀😀
How long does it last?
I been working on this cocktail for a few years. Been a lovely journey, and the almond and coconut were the last ingredients I sussed out.
Here's my recipe:
- Whiskey of choice (you'll end up trying vodka instead, and all sorts)
- choc+coconut+coffee liqueur (or alternatives out of your cupboards)
- soft brown sugar
- Madagascan vanilla extract, and almond extract
- single cream, and thicken with double cream as needed
- pinch of salt as needed to take out any bitter notes (amount depends on the other ingredients you used)
- Stick it all in an empty 4L milk carton and shake.
- Let it settle in the fridge.
- Stir, or gently tumble the bottle, before pouring.
Enjoy
Baileys on Christmas pudding is pretty amazing
Really great video. You are a fun person to watch. I will try this over the Christmas. Thanks!
This video was the first one i watched from you and i'm hooked 😂. Thank you for the great channel, subbed and waiting for new contents. Happy holidays from Finland!
Thank you so much for tuning in!! New video tomorrow ;)
I love your recipe and made it that day with vanilla extract. Today I made hot coco I used French vanilla cream and almond extract. I had coconut rum and I don't know if I'm having Irish cream or an almond joy. Keep up the good work ❤. ❤. ❤❤
I just made this and it’s delicious!!!! Thank you for sharing :)
I’m going to make some homemade Baileys very very soon because of you! However, I do not much care for Hershey’s chocolate syrup, as I don’t like all the additives. But I keep a lot of Crio Bru cacao on hand. After I make it, I will let you know how it tastes.
I just now came across this channel, and I’ve made a new friend. 😂😂
I agree about the additives in Hershey’s… I think I’m gonna have to add a high quality chocolate syrup to the Savidge Kitchen Provisions line-up ;)
Excellent video, you explain it very nicely. To the point, just enjoyed it, I can almost taste the flavour. Keep up ❤
P.S : You have a very vibrant aura.
I just happened to see you and your video for the first time!
I got great enjoyment from your enjoyment! Nice video!
Totally yummy! I over did the chocolate on the first bottle, but it still was pretty good. Thank you!
Guys, something tells me this young lady knows to how to have fun after only one drink.
That looks really good.
Well.. this was a fun, unexpected video. Thanks RUclips algorithm. And of course, to the content creator. Well done 👏👏
Thanks so much for tuning in! 😊🥃
WOW SO CREAMY....YUMMY...Thanks for the recipe.
Good recipe, gonna try it. I make an Irish crean cappuccino and a Hazelnut cappuccino using International Foods creamers. Just so tasty. But I use moonshine instead of whisky since its readily available and inexpensive.
I love bailey's Irish cream make it every year Christmas
Great video!! Groovy presentation skills, I caught myself smiling more than a few times!!
I love your recipes.
Relatively new to your channel.
Your version looked creamier, which I like.
Thank you, Baileys is the only thing I drink, this will save me a lot of money! ❤️
I love Jameson whisky to. I got black barrel for the Christmas and new year times.
Yummmmm… 🥃 Don’t use that here. Sipping only 😂
@@SavidgeKitchen is that sipping with a straw :p hehe
A most excellent video! This will be made very soon. Thank you!
