This was probably my favorite programme JW did for Go Fishing. I'd never even heard of the Mahseer, let alone a Golden one... Somewhat puts my Barbel fishing into perspective.
It takes great skill to play a big mahseer while simultaneously paddling down a fast, rocky river in a coracle and playing the sitar. "Absolute magic ".
I remember John telling me to get the different camera angles (one camera crew) they filmed him playing a bucket tied to the line after he released the fish :)
They grow a lot bigger, i know they've been caught over 200lb. I'd hope they still grow that large and i think that Jeremey Wade guy had an episode about them.
