I do have a question for you, if have any knowledge about this matter I would truly appreciate your response!.... Can I purchase a used key fob from another nissan altima (with the same code on the back and the same year of course) and program that to my car?... The EZ car installer is supposed to be able to install up to 4 keys but I don't know if I can use a used key fob or if it must be brand new???
after 3 fob failures over time with 1 fob left, i changed the battery in my fob because it was weak. after battery was changed it no longer worked. i am getting the run around by tom keys. i was also told that because i have a aftermarket remote, there is nothing they could do. i have been using these keys over 8 years. now it is an issue. they said i was EXTREMELY lucky they worked. that was there last message to me. zero help

@@bradleymadosh911 I used it to open the car doors but the car had nothing to put the key in and start the car so luckily the key fob was still working to start the car by putting it close to the start button. I’m glad I don’t have that car anymore!
I bought the Simple Key Replacement Kit and I’m trying to set it up but I have tried 3 times and have gotten the Error 4 and Error 5 twice. Now it has drained my battery and my car won’t crank. I’m still excited to get this product and hopefully I can get it working properly.

Update: I realized why my battery drained, it was user error. I forgot to turn off the a/c and radio while I set it up. After I got a battery booster jump start from my lady and let my car run for a little to charge the battery back up. After it charged and I turned everything off I was able to set it up and it works well now! Great product, I would recommend it to others!

I have a 2016 Nissan Altima. I lost one of fobs and got a replacement. The local auto locksmith was unable to program it at my local Nissan dealership wanted $180 to program it.
Hi, I did program the new key, but the original problematic one didn't and the red security light with the key symbol keeps blinking even with the car off and the device unplugged. Now I'm afraid of starting the process again and messing the new key. (Original one was dead even with new batteries but could start the car by holding it to start button).

Great question. Nissan programming starts by erasing all fobs. So if programming gets stopped in the middle your original fob will not work. When I’m programming the key fob on the little device right after it say talking to vehicle it starts beeping and it displays saying error code 5. What does this mean
So what does Error Code 4 and Code 5 mean? I have tried a couple times to program the fob(s). The first time I forgot to program the old FOB and the New FOB worked. The second time I got Error 5, the third time I got Error 4. The third both FOBs stopped working. Trial and error, I got the old FOB working (still not sure how I managed. Fourth attempt, neither FOB worked. I was able to get the old FOB working again. I called your customer service number and waited for 30 minutes (the estimate was 14 to 18 minutes). I'm going to try again when the weather cools a bit. Really wish you guys picked up the phone.

If you don't have any working key fobs, you need to get a locksmith or dealership to make a new one for you. You can use our kit to make a spare one, but just have one working key to do that

Sorry, the only Nissan Rogue we have are turn key start ignition. Sounds like you have push button start ignition. Wish we could help you, but we don't have a push button start Rogue solution.
All of the FOBs that I got with my Nissan Altima 2013 stopped working all at once. Replaced the batteries and still nothing. I am not sure why this happened but it is obviously not the FOBs that are broken but something in the vehicle itself puked. I was told that troubleshooting it would cost me hundreds of dollars to fix this. (Nissan Service Center) I will order your kit but if the issue is with the vehicle and not the FOB. I suspect this will fail. We will see.

Is this safe to use if you don’t have a key pairing slot? I have a 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 with no pairing slot. In your video there is no mention of this at all, however the instructions state to repackage and rerun if you do not have a pairing slot. I watched your entire video and see nothing regarding this. The car DID NOT come with a remote start, hence the aftermarket unit. I asked the question because I once went to a service that did keys cheaper than a dealer, but he warned that my after market starter might need to be reprogrammed once he programmed a new Nissan key to the car. In short, he said that programming new keys would wipe out any "keys" to the car and this might or might not include the aftermarket remote start and its fob. Do you have any idea on how your device would effect that separate fob that can start the car?

No. This is a quality product that will last as long as you own the vehicle. You will need to change the fob battery every few years. Recently we had a customer report back that they were needing to change the battery every few months - turns out there was a problem with it. Doubt I’ll get an answer but the box the new fob comes in specifically says “only FCC ID ending in 4014 will work with simple key. The one I was sent in the box is X32-NSSSG010. Does this mean the one that came with the programming device won’t work?
FCC ID is specific to the manufacturer. So the original Nissan has one ending 4014. Because the aftermarket fob is from a different manufacturer (not Nissan OEM) it has a different FCC ID X32-.... But it is compatible with the OEM 4014. So it will work.

Hi, the replacement key will not add features that were not originally included in your key. Only original remote features will work, regardless of the buttons included in the Keyless Entry Remote. This key does not add remote features that your vehicle did not have before.
Update: I took a chance and ordered this product to have a replacement Key for my 2016 Nissan Altima S 2.5L and the process could not have gone more smoothly! I carefully watched this tutorial video several times and read the instruction manual prior to setup to be absolutely sure about the process. I was hesitant at first from reading about some people having issues with their keys not working, but I can assure you that if you follow the instructions step by step, you will successfully program your new key. One difference that I noticed in the process was that the programmer asked me to step on the brake and start the car as shown in Step 8 of the user guide, whereas this step was not done in the video. I followed the instructions of the programmer and manual and started the car, then proceeded to Step 9 to turn the engine off. Everything went smoothly, and all of the functions of my original OEM Nissan key fob, such as being able to open the doors and trunk with the touch buttons, and of course starting the engine work as they should. Turn off HVAC, lights, radio, and anything drawing power, and take appropriate steps to keep the vehicle battery at full power.

After turning on the hazards mine is having me to press the brake and start the vehicle then press the stop to turn off the vehicle. Then it shows the warning do not press the brake for the rest of the process. Then when it says talking to vehicle it gives me ERROR 5 and a constant beeping.

Hi, I did program the new key, but the original problematic one didn't and the red security light with the key symbol keeps blinking even with the car off and the device unplugged. Now I'm afraid of starting the process again and messing the new key.

Great question. Nissan programming starts by erasing all fobs. So if programming gets stopped in the middle your original fob will not work. There is good news - it's not difficult to restore the original fob. This video shows how: Programming mistakes and fix (Nissan and Infiniti vehicles)

So what does Error Code 4 and Code 5 mean? I have tried a couple times to program the fob(s). The first time I forgot to program the old FOB and the New FOB worked. The second time I got Error 5, the third time I got Error 4. The third both FOBs stopped working. Trial and error, I got the old FOB working (still not sure how I managed. Fourth attempt, neither FOB worked. I was able to get the old FOB working again. I called your customer service number and waited for 30 minutes (the estimate was 14 to 18 minutes).
I'm going to try again when the weather cools a bit. Really wish you guys picked up the phone.

All of the FOBs that I got with my Nissan Altima 2013 stopped working all at once. Replaced the batteries and still nothing. I am not sure why this happened but it is obviously not the FOBs that are broken but something in the vehicle itself puked. I was told that troubleshooting it would cost me hundreds of dollars to fix this. (Nissan Service Center) I will order your kit but if the issue is with the vehicle and not the FOB. I suspect this will fail. We will see.

The car DID NOT come with a remote start, hence the aftermarket unit. I asked the question because I once went to a service that did keys cheaper than a dealer, but he warned that my after market starter might need to be reprogrammed once he programmed a new Nissan key to the car. In short, he said that programming new keys would wipe out any "keys" to the car and this might or might not include the aftermarket remote start and its fob.

No. This is a quality product that will last as long as you own the vehicle. You will need to change the fob battery every few years. Recently we had a customer report back that they were needing to change the battery every few months - turns out there was a problem with it. Doubt I’ll get an answer but the box the new fob comes in specifically says “only FCC ID ending in 4014 will work with simple key. The one I was sent in the box is X32-NSSSG010. Does this mean the one that came with the programming device won’t work?
FCC ID is specific to the manufacturer. So the original Nissan has one ending 4014. Because the aftermarket fob is from a different manufacturer (not Nissan OEM) it has a different FCC ID X32-.... But it is compatible with the OEM 4014. So it will work.

Hi, the replacement key will not add features that were not originally included in your key.
Only original remote features will work, regardless of the buttons included in the Keyless Entry Remote. This key does not add remote features that your vehicle did not have before.
Update: I took a chance and ordered this product to have a replacement Key for my 2016 Nissan Altima S 2.5L and the process could not have gone more smoothly! I carefully watched this tutorial video several times and read the instruction manual prior to setup to be absolutely sure about the process. I was hesitant at first from reading about some people having issues with their keys not working, but I can assure you that if you follow the instructions step by step, you will successfully program your new key. One difference that I noticed in the process was that the programmer asked me to step on the brake and start the car as shown in Step 8 of the user guide, whereas this step was not done in the video. I followed the instructions of the programmer and manual and started the car, then proceeded to Step 9 to turn the engine off. Everything went smoothly, and all of the functions of my original OEM Nissan key fob, such as being able to open the doors and trunk with the touch buttons, and of course starting the engine work as they should. Nissan is voltage sensitive, you should have the car battery on a 2 amp charger to avoid any issues

Yes, you need to make sure that the vehicle battery is fully charged and will not die during programming as a weak battery may cause problems. Turn off HVAC, lights, radio, and anything drawing power, and take appropriate steps to keep the vehicle battery at full power.

After turning on the hazards mine is having me to press the brake and start the vehicle then press the stop to turn off the vehicle. Then it shows the warning do not press the brake for the rest of the process. Then when it says talking to vehicle it gives me ERROR 5 and a constant beeping.
