I’ve never been so happy to hear door lock/unlock clicks, engine starting, trunk open & the welcome sign on the display in all my life! Your video and suggestions were spot on as the prongs in the fob were bent. You, my friend, just saved me a lot of money! Thank you so much😘

I wanna say this video really helped me out. I had lost my keyfob over a year ago, I had to contact Nissan they wanted in pa 350 for a new one and to program it but I had purchased one months before I lost mine just to have an extra one but I didn’t know at time how much to get programmed until I found out and it just sat. I had to pay someone to come out after shopping around and paid 295 and it lasted a week. I just so happen today being bored looked up how to fix keyfob and watched your video and now my car unlocks and locks and it hasn’t in over a year. Thanks again because I didn’t have another 200+ to get it fixed. I swear push start cars aren’t that great after all lol to me

I have a Nissan Sentra and both of my keys did not work after the battery change. I bent all of the contacts and put the batteries in the correct way, and both keys are like new. I had been working on this fob problem for about a month till I saw your video. Thank you so much, Ohlookitsfaith. Thank God.

Thank you after going through so many videos that just had me frustrated. Came upon this. Car battery died at the job. Had to get a boost from roadside assistance. Then no key I'd went home to see if I had a fob battery. Had to leave car running in driveway. Went bought a new car battery. Changed out key fob battery. Then car kept saying no key I'd. 2 days of watching videos unplugged battery in car. Nothing car still wouldn't recognize key fob. Was just going to go to dealer. Came upon this video did what you said closed it up. Hit panic button car started going off in garage. Door locks started working. Car recognized fob. Finally someone who does not run their mouth and know what they are doing. 🙂

After having problems with one of my fobs for the last few weeks, I tried every suggestion on RUclips and Nissan Forums. I changed the batteries several times, adjusted the terminal prongs as shown here as well as doing the battery disconnect reboot, etc. On one of the forums one poster made a point of using a high quality, new CR2032 battery. On my 3rd battery change the fob amazingly came to life and I was back in business. I had already thought I needed to head to the Nissan dealer or a Locksmith to have them reprogrammed but not required now.

Thanks for posting that. I changed both keyfob batteries less than 2 months ago, I had purchased a "good deal" on Amazon with a lot of good reviews. I tested them, they are 3V batteries with 3V in them, but I was getting a "No key detected" message, opening of the door was iffy, to start the car I had to bring the keyfob to the button. I just went to the store and bought 2 good quality batteries and the message is gone and all the issues are gone. I guess I have a lot of 3V batteries for TV remotes now.

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I had to leave a comment. My husband and I are having to share my car while his is in the shop. All the swapping the fob back-and-forth has been a nuisance. I knew I had a second one in a drawer. After putting in a new battery it still did not work. I adjusted the prongs as you suggested and BINGO it’s working. Thank you again! God bless you!

Man you saved me from having to buy a new fob…my Fob battery ran low so my car wouldn’t start, so I went and got a new battery. Put it in, and the car still wouldn’t start, I changed another battery thinking maybe something was wrong with that one, put new one in, still wouldn’t start…and I thought dang, ima have to take it to the Nissan dealer. Ran into your video, and in 30 seconds of watching I immediately knew what went wrong, my dumb butt put the battery in the wrong way. The battery with the words should face down. So I flipped it over, and it worked like a charm….THANK YOU

You HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD, for me!!! I have been a computer tech for 30 plus years, not a car tech, and your solution was my answer. All I can say is, that these electronics now-a-days for cars, are a PAIN IN THE ASS. Jokingly, I say that you have to take a college course (and pass it), in order to have a car that functions correctly, or a computer that functions correctly, now-a-days, which sucks. Thanks for your video...

Oh my god. I bought a 2009 Altima a few months ago off marketplace. Owner only had one key. Well none of the buttons worked which I didn’t complain about because I got it for a good price, just have to manually lock and unlock which could be annoying. Car would start and run fine with the key in the slot but the lock/unlock buttons never worked. Low and behold I find this video, so first I open my key and what do you know, my battery was upside down!! 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ girl you just saved me a HELL of a lot of stress and headache thinking I had to go to the Nissan dealer for a new key. I wish I could give this video multiple thumbs up you’re a life saver, or maybe I’m just dumb!! Haha

I thought I found the cure. My 08 Altima winter car just started showing a low battery alert for one of the Fobs. I replaced the battery and now the car won't detect the fob. I have double checked the battery orientation and the condition of the prongs. The car detects it when the fob is plugged in to the port on the lower dash and the car will start. I recently replaced a complete fob on my 2011 Altima. I purchased factory new fob from a seller on Ebay for $80 Canadian. Programing cost $50. at the dealership. The car detects it but not on the fobs own battery power.

Thanks a ton! I had exact same issue after I replaced my key battery. It’s working fine after I fix following your recommendation. Many thanks again 🙏

those steering locks render a lot of people stranded . thankfully they really are an easy task to identify in addition to the revised component is not really overpriced . I have a do it yourself on it over at my channel also .

THANK YOU ... i opened it up and saw the prongs on my Battery side is missing. Now how would i replace that little metal piece?

Jonn093 oooooh unless you knew the part number to that exact piece you might have to pay to replace it. If you had that exact part you most likely could solder a new one on.

i ended up going to Pepboys and looked at their key fob selection and bought one for like 17$ ask the lady for a knife to cut it open and jamed it in my fob. Now it works haha.. its been working for 2 weeks :D
