Finally! A video with no b*! You are a hero my friend. I watched so many videos and tried so many things. Nothing worked. And I mean nothing at all. Once I softly and gently pushed the little metal blades up it worked!!! Definitely my hero!!! My car was already locked and wouldn’t open at all!!! Thank you sir! Please continue making videos !! We definitely need you in this car world!
Bro that worked for my fobs, for months it wouldn’t unlock or lock or start remotely unless i used the keys to lock and touch the start button with the fob. Thank you so much bro
1-Verify correct battery by Google 2032 and 2025 are very close in size but different in output and stored power for specific application. 2-Verify proper polarity of battery installed. Don't overlook the small stuff 3-Dont skimp on battery brand. Trust Duracell 4-Dont change battery while vehicle running 5-Inspect for corrosion inside key while changing battery. Sweaty, wet pockets are no Bueno as these are by no means "water resistant"
i got a question i got a 2017 nissan titan crew cab, last year we went to the beach and i forgot my key fob was in my pocket and it got wet in the salt water, i dried it the best i could, i used a alcohol soaked q tip swab and dried it and then replaced the battery and it started working, but it would drain the battery down in a couple weeks if that long, we took our spare fob buy missed placed it until we got home by that time i had bought a replacement fob and had a lock smith program the new fob with the one that got wet but was working even tho it would drain the battery... Can you help figure it out. could it get corrupt data cause it to drain the battery. Can you reprogram a fob once it has been programmed.
Both fobs died, not opening doors or starting my 2009 altima. Both had 2025 batteries, instead of 2032 which is slighltly more powerful. Now the one with the new battery unlocks the doors remotely, but will not start the car unless I put it in the portal under the dash. Any suggestions? I viewed your helpful video, but it didn't cover my problem. Thanks.
I had 2025 but switched to 2032 and issue was better. Worked with 2025 but said "key ID Incorrect". Still started and unlocked but would get error code on dash. With correct battery then installed all issues resolved. Can't always trust the "what the last bum did" when the current bum is doing the job. Hopefully solves the issue before you pay 200 for a new FOB
Both my old and new key fob will only work intermittently. Batteries are new. Key will not open the door. Vehicle starts with key. 2006 Jeep commander. Only issue is I cannot lock the doors.
I’m having the same issue…is this pricy when you get it repaired by a key technician? I figured it needs computer calibration or something..thanks in advance
Recently changed the battery in my remote for my 2017 Titan. The remote works fine but a few days later, I noticed that the exterior door handle button (or as Nissan calls it, the request switch) that locks and unlocks the doors is not working anymore. Is there an interior switch that was pushed by mistake that controls that? Why is it not working?
Moisture can get inside the door handle and cause the button to not work anymore. Try the other side. If the other side works, the door handle might need to be replaced
The FOB in my 2019 Infiniti QX50 wasn't working, "Key ID Incorrect error message' and turns out it was the car battery Expensive fix but the FOBs are working fine after the replacement battery.
Hi. Both fob keys for our nissan terra is not working - remote and keyless entry/exit door buttons. Replaced with new batteries but still no good. I am able to start the engine by placing the key fob near the start / stop button.. Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks.
The Nissan keys are super sensitive. When you crack them open to replace the battery, a lot can go wrong. Also, they are not that reliable to begin with.
@@NotATechShow thanks for the feedback. Btw, i replaced only 1 fob. The other 1 remained untouched as backup and was working pretty well before this issue. Does this mean it got busted also or the problem is within the module in my car?
It's tough to say without a proper diagnosis. But I will say that the module or the sensors that pick up the fobs when they are near the vehicle are rare to go bad. Truth be told, after I made this video a few years ago, I had to replace my fob anyway because it was faulty.
The car uses a magnetic signal to start the car with the fob. Meaning that you dont have to have a battery in the fob at all to start it. If it doesnt unlock the doors, most common issue is the remote is bad. There is a chance that the receiver in the car is having problems but that is rare. These remotes are trash.
That is strange, haven't seen that happen in all my years as a tech lol. Only other thing i would guess without scanning it would be that it might be a bad receiver module or needs to be reset and reprogrammed
Locksmith said every time he programs a new key the old ones must be reprogrammed, not sure what it could be, it reads the key just fine; both of them at that, even when I press the button on the handle, they both work just fine. When I have to open the tail gate is when I usually need them
My batteries always lasted 6 months....then 2 months. Then 2 weeks. Now this last go round it didn't last 2 days. I dont know whats wrong with these things
@@NotATechShow thanks for the response. Do you have a good place to get them outside of the dealer? They probably get these made in China for $8 but I've heard of them charging over 350 for a key and programming. Thats terrible when I bet there's more technology in my $25 earphones.
@@spankymagee its tough because you need their scan tool to program the key. Some aftermarket shops have the ability to do it. You might have to call around. As far as the key itself, its best to buy the factory key. I have bought aftermarket keys in the past and they have been really hit and miss in terms of quality. I just replace my key on my titan not too long ago and did it at the dealer. After it was all said and done, it was $650 with the key and programming. It’s not like the old days of keys anymore unfortunately, its become a very pricey item.

This one is a 2016
Oddly both my key fobs required new batteries. I’ve had several Nissans and never had a problem until this one.
The newer style FOBs seem to use up batteries more than I have ever seen.

No, you need the appropriate remote for your car. It's an older style

why my qasqi remote key fob does not work from distance
How if to program a clone fob and where to buy
Depends on your vehicle. But you will have to go to the dealership to have it programmed. You need a special scan tool.
