My favourite kind of “currently Hannah” vids. Slow, medative, letting the sound, music and visuals take the lead. Minimal voice over (not that we don’t love your Aussie accent haha...), just great!

Thank you so much Hannah for sharing those memories with us on a Friday. I just arrived home after a very nice and relaxing trip to Miyajima, watching the cousins of Nara's deers while strolling through the streets and stopping by at Starbucks for warming up and having some moments for my own, while watching the sunset.
Now I'm having late dinner and hanging out with you in Kyoto. The unexpected is the most beautiful!
    Have a wonderful weekend. ♥

This gave me feelings of nostalgia big time. I agree, Nara is a full on tourist hub but you can't dispute the fact that it's veryyyy beautiful and unique. Beautifully captured Hannah. Was that "Isuien koen" you entered also? It looked familiar. We were lucky enough to have a (volunteer) guide take us around the garden, providing us with the meanings of garden design/placement. It was actually fascinating.

3:16 *"That was wild".* I see what you did there Hannah 😉. I'm totally obsessed with how red the leaves are (which you've posted about before), and the overall calm vibes of the video. Oh and how respectful the groups of photo enthusiasts were with their huge lenses, 👍 with the exception of that one douchebag. Thanks also for mentioning again that the deer are indeed wild animals, but it is très cute that they will bow back to you in order to get food lol.

Beautiful video. Nara park is so nice in fall, and the two gardens are each a gem. Hard to think that I was last time there in 2011, but Nara prefecture are so many other amazing places!
About the run of the herd after the bugle call: I have seen on TV that they call the deer to check on them, and the deer get some food, so of course they runs like crazy.

Nara Park was one of my highlights visiting Japan. The deers are tame but they will harass you if you have food. There was also poop everywhere which was expected. I still remember the long walk from the train station. I thought it was going to be an easy half hour walk but google map didn't really tell me about all the hills.

This video is a delight and a very worthy promotion of the peace to be found in so many parks across Japan. So many visitors do a half-day trip to see deer and Todaiji but Nara is much like our home (Adelaide, S.A) by size. There are numerous features to enjoy for those who have the time (recommend two full days if possible). Depending on your interests, Isui-en and the adjacent Yoshiki-en are charming stroll gardens, Daijo-in garden with its lake and vermillion bridge are restful and beautiful. Kasuga Taisha and the adjacent Todaiji Nigatsu-do round off the temple experience.
If your interest extends to history, the archaeological sites 2km NW of JR show where vast amounts have been spent to restore and reveal the early era when Nara was the capital.
Special request from a couple of oldies: we love your work but the occasional coarse language grates.

Many wild deer and the Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple are famous in Nara Park, but many buildings were rebuilt in later times after being burnt down in the war at Todaiji Temple. There are few buildings left from the 8th century construction, but Sangatsudo, which remains on the eastern mountain side, is one of the precious buildings. Many national treasures such as "Fukuken sakukannon" are enshrined in the Buddhist temple. It seems that few foreign tourists visit, but it has a high historical value and is worth a visit.

When we visited more than 10 years ago the deer hunted in packs. We got off lightly. One stole and ate a map I had sticking out of my back pocket. Other tourists weren't so lucky. Sometimes all you'll find is a shoe or a bloody camera...
Nara is lovely though. We always wanted to go back but... Japan, there's so many places to visit. After this video though it may need another look. Covid willing of course.

Beautiful video. Love the warm color theme throughout and the many isolated frames in an obviously crowed location. What a special opportunity to walk among all of those wild creatures in an open space. Curious if you ever figured out what that call that made them stampede was all about? I’m thinking a misogynistic dude deer, who was ready…, yelling, “let’s go bitches,” and off they flew. 😜
Anywaaay, what fun to see the return of your mochi treat! Ha! Thanks for the work you do. Keeps this silly old poet and many more of us out here happy. Hope all is well.

Apparently the crackers are fortified with vitamins and minerals that they need so hopefully that can put your mind at ease in the future :)
