I am here on the last day of 2020. And I love looking back at the beginning of the year and seeing how hopeful we all were before the world fell into chaos. It brings back memories of better times, I guess. But here's to hoping that 2021 will be as good as we all hope it will be.
Watching this now in the first days of 2022, and hoping this year will finally turn things around with the pandemic, so see can get back to living normally..
So I practice in semi-secret, my husband and my kids know. But we live in the Bible Belt in VA, and if anyone else knew they would come with pitchforks lol. However, thanks to you, my pole will be delivered to my house on Monday. So I’m looking forward to intentional movements, I just can’t tag you in it. Thanks for the videos!

I personally don't think of new year's resolutions as sth I have to do or wait for. For me it's more like an excuse and extra motivation. Like "ok I didn't manage to do this thing last year so this year I'm gonna try harder to achieve it". It's more like a clean slate, a fresh start of sorts. Leave all the disappointment and baggage in the past and start a new chapter. I agree that you can start sth anytime but it feels a little bit more special right after new year starts.

I got myself this new folder and arranged all important documents in it (contracts, certificate, etc) and set an intention for a solid foundation in life with it 😁
Instead of waiting to make a change on new years, I think of it as a time to sit and reflect on if I want change things, what goals I want to set, what I desire. You can get so caught up in life, new years is a great time to schedule reflection. Of course I also use it to schedule a deep cleanse of my magickal tools for a nice clean slate and I re-enforce my protection spells and amulets to make sure they do not go stagnant.
I was watching one of your older posts, last halloween, the last of the october posts. Something you said made me want to remind you, not only the young ones watch you. You are a comfort and a balm for others of us, older, mothers. You bring connection to the lonely. Thank you.
Although I personally practice that the wiccan new year is Samhain, I do agree that the "new year" in January is very powerful because of the collective intention setting that you mentioned. I also had to get myself a spell a day book/calendar :)

Hope now it explains why 2020 was a disaster.

If you're looking up your Chinese astrology sign and you were born before the Chinese New Year, then your sign is the one for the previous year. Chinese New Year is normally somewhere between Mid-January and Mid-February so if you're a January or February baby you may want to look up when Chinese New Year was for the year you were born.
