I simply wash my face with water in the morning and moisturize with mist. If I'm heading out, I MUST wear sunscreen. To me, sunscreen is an absolutely important skincare staple so thanks for hosting this giveaway!

Loveeeee your channel and all the wonderful tips!! I try to check it daily.
After viewing this video, I searched for the ELTA MD sunscreen product noted and am happy to say that my dermatologist here in Newfoundland, Canada, carries it in his cosmetic clinic and I absolutely love it and use it daily. THANK YOU for providing the general public with your expertise - it's invaluable to, not only those of us with limited resources, but the population as a whole!

Been a subscriber of yours for awhile, and love hearing someone who is actually qualified give advice on skincare! I find if my skin is just looking really dull, or I didn't get much sleep that if I just spend a couple extra minutes in the morning really giving my skin a good massage during cleansing, it just perks up my skin a bit and helps it look not so dull and flat

Dr Sam, I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful insight and advice. I had horrible skin for most of my life but have spent the last year really working on it and using so many of your tips. It has finally paid off and I am now getting complimented on how nice my skin is, which is CRAZY! 😁 Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

My tip, that had worked for me personally, is keep Morning routine simple and easy on the skin. All the harsh stuff like retinol and acids can be done at night. The morning just needs some slight prep for the day. What I do is take micellar water and cleanse with that because if I clean with a gentle face wash twice a day, I will get irritated. So just some micellar to take off the dirt from the sleep, some vitamin c, a moisturizer, and a sunscreen. Liked

My current morning skincare routine is to wash my face with water (usually cold), pat dry, use my ring finger to dab on eye cream, apply moisturizer to my face and neck, wait for it to sink in and then add facial oil over the top (I know you're not a fan of oils but I really like No7's facial oil as I find ot adds a nice glow). Just need to find a suitable sun cream now I think :)

Been subscribed for a while now and the nonsensical and direct approach you have with your videos. I love how your morning skincare routine is so simple too! I typically use Avene Gentle Cleansing Foam and Jan Marini's Physical Protectant as a 2-in-1 suncreen/moistouriser but adding the vitamin C serum sounds like a great addition.

I've been subscribed for a long time, and appreciate so much your no nonsense approach to skin care. My morning routine involves cleansing (gentle non-foaming cleanser, or if I'm in a rush micellar water), hydrating serum + moisturiser (I use Freederm daily complex, has a good amount of niacinamide in it), and then final step before make up a good and light textured SPF (I've used Biore in the past, and now I use a Nivea one which I think is exclusive to the Asian market).

Neutrogena Hydro boost gelee milk cleanser - similar texture to your lovely La Roche-Posay Physiological Gel but with perfume but otherwise very pleasant
Vichy serum ( various) then and then SPF - repeat purchase La Roche Posay Hydraphase UV Light...always behaves well under makeup.

My morning routine: a) i apply dark spot erase AHA loction by Resist in targetted areas, b) I moisturize my skin after that, depending on how dry my skin is i either apply Oils of Life moisturizer by The Body Shop alone or along with the face oil from the same collection, c) once everyhting has sinked in well I apply +50 SPF aqua fluid by Bioderma.

My morning skincare: water splash, Timeless C + E Ferulic or Mad Hippie Vit C/hyuralonic, a little Mad Hippie moisturizer on my dry spots, Mad Hippie Eye Cream, La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Fluid SPF 50 with Mexoryl SX, Mexoryl XL and Tinosorb S on my face, and Anthelios SPF 50 Lait (the original formula with the Mexoryls and the Tinosorb... 300ml tube found on eBay) all over my neck, shoulders and chest. If I am taking a shower, I use Mother Dirt Foaming Face + Body cleanser on my face and body. In the evening, I use DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. I also like Cerave PM moisturizer, sometimes instead of the Mad Hippie.

I use a gentle cream cleanser that I gently flannel off, a hydrating gel serum, a honey based serum and pai's rose-hip oil to 'lock' everything in. I don't have a moisturiser heavy enough for colder weather that doesn't make my skin react so I have to layer., and I also have yet to come across a sunscreen that works for my skin.

My morning routine: (very soothing as I use tretinoin gel 0,5% about 5 nights/week)
MY TIP: Use a new fresh towel/flannel everyday to pat dry your face.
(I buy the small squared ones from Primark as they're really cheap.)
Avène Gentle Gel cleanser (sadly it was discontinued.)
    Avène Gentle toner
    La Roche-Posay Serozinc
    La Roche-Posay Hydraphase intense eyes
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% (this stuff is amazing!)
Avène Hydrance Optimale hydrating serum + few drops of pure organic cold pressed Argan oil (mixed before applying)
Sunscreen (any La Roche-Posay Anthelios) - not happy with this step =o/
I'm still looking for my Holy Grail winter sunscreen. They all seem too stick and thick. In the summer I like to use Biore UV bright face milk (pink bottle). It works as an amazing primer for oily skin.

I've started changing up my skincare routine and your tips for waiting for product to soak in have made a huge difference already. Today I used a hyaluronic acid moisturizer after cleaning and using a serum (which I've been doing for a few days since I just got the latter two products), then I used a mineral sunscreen and added a rosehip oil to my foundation and my skin looked so healthy after I removed my makeup tonight! It kind of shocked me, not gonna lie. I think I'm going to keep doing this foundation routine since I work 9-10 hours a day and my skin has been looking kind of dull as a result of daily makeup.

I personally steer clear of vitamin C serums. They are rather unstable and I found them irritating. La Roche Posay is a nice line. I just got their double repair mosterizer, which has cerimides and niacinamide that are helpful for the skin.

My morning routine is: vanicream gentle cleanser, Cerave moisturizing facial lotion, La Roche Posay SPF 60 sunscreen and blistex chapstick. Once my toner and eye cream run out then I won't be repurchasing. You must go through at least one or two tubes of the obagi moisturizer a month since they are so small. Another great, informative video! Thanks, Dr. Bunting!! Your routine is perfect. What antioxidant serum are you using?
Liked and already a subscriber--and have an alert for your Utube posts. 😇
My morning routine is fairly simple as well.
-I'm not oily so I simply wash my hands and then proceed to rinse my face with tepid water (using my hands) until my face feels supple and clean. It takes about a minute.
-Dry face with a towel using the same method you used in your video
-Apply Paula's Choice C Booster Serum
-Apply one pump of Replenix Power Of Three cream using my finger tips (I will have to try your method in terms of Rubin in products)
-Apply a face cream. I'm currently using Refissa, only three months in, and find most products irritating. However, Eucerin Q10 has been wonderful! Surprising it had very good ingredients! I went from $80 product to a $12 product. 🤔
-Finally, I apply a physical sunblock. I have tried the Eltamd yet buts on my list. I have a few I like but I'm favoring PCA, Replenix Ultimatte Perfection SPF 50, Bareminerals Prep-Step SPF50.

Thank you, dr Bunting, for sharing your skincare routine with us! I'm subscribed to you since last year, and probably will be until the end of time. Because you're amazing at explaining skin conditions & your product recommendation rocks! ❤️
My current skincare routine is very simple, i just use 2 products! #lazygirlhacks alert. First, i do gentle cleansing with coconut oil (coconut oil has change my life, and hopefully yours too!) or just micellar water before bath time and then i put on Bareminerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel Cream (moisturizing due to glycerin & squalane & sunscreen due to 6.5% titanium dioxide in it). It's been a staple in my vanity since 1.5 years ago, it really helped me save time in the morning. It is also easy to reapply for sun protection (i sometimes reapply even though it's physical sunscreen, especially when i'm outdoor & sweating).

I've been thinking about incorporating hyaluronic acid, niacinamide & marula oil for my AM skincare routine though. What do you think about it, dr Bunting?

Audrey Natalia I think we are all at risk of being brainwashed or seduced into believing more layers the better especially when The Ordinary products are so cheap. De Sam is all for pairing back. Sunscreen and retinol will cover almost everything

+phoenix i really really wanted to tey the magic of retinol for muself! But i was asking around (also to dermatologists) and most would recommend me to wait until i'm 30 before starting retinol. They all told me to wait because i have clear skin (has always been acne free all my life) and at 23 y.o my skin is regenerating perfectly & also i don't have hyperpigmentation problems (sunburns and sun spots disappear on its own in a matter of days/weeks).
For sunscreen i use physical sunscreen spf 30 with 6.5% titanium dioxide from Bareminerals regularly every day (will change to 22% zinc oxide sunscreen from Bareminerals once this bottle is finished) and Guess sunglasses with 100% UV protection whenever i'm in the car. I still don't wear lip balm with SPF though, but considering trying Elta MD one.

Dr Sam, thanks for sharing your morning routine with us. I see it is pretty similar to my morning routine with one exception - after cleansing my face with mild cleanser I use acid toner or thermal water, after that I apply serum with vit. C, then light cream with SPF. When I have a tough night or have to wake up very early (5.30-6.00am) I also use eye pads to 'boost' the quality of the skin under eyes. I tried to use serum, then moisturizer and sunscreen but it was too heavy under make up, maybe sunscreens I tried (all from french pharmacy) were not suitable under make up. I subscribed long time ago because I do not want to miss any of your videos. Have a great day :-)

I've been a subscriber for a few months now, and would love to try out the sun screen in this video. I wear SPF every day and am always on the lookout for the perfect formulation. Thanks for holding a giveaway!

Of course I'm subscribed! My morning routine is very similar, but I have an extra step where I feel like I don't like any of the sunscreens I have tried and am tempted to skip it for the tiny amount of protection in my Smashbox CC cream. I am amazed about this video/giveaway because a good 1/3 of my social media comments in the past month or so have been about how sunscreen is the bane of my existence and whether I should try EltaMD.

Love your channel and I'm definitely subscribed. I've recently started leaving my skincare routine until after I've eaten, that way I can brush my teeth without feeling like I'm wiping everything off around my mouth when rinsing.

Great video. Hope I get to try this sunscreen. My morning routine : Brush my teeth, drink a glass of water, change my baby's nappy, prepare breakfast for the little champ and feed the dog, thennnnnn its on to my cleanse with PC skin balancing cleanser, toner, brightening essence, serum with vitamin C, moisturiser with sunscreen. All by Paula's Choice. It takes me a while between letting each product sink in and dealing with my household. But i get there :)
