If you don't have the credit to get yourself a credit card with a $1,000 limit or more, then it's not worth it to get a payday loan. The terms like JM pointed out are beyond ridiculous. I was in a situation like this before and jobless with no money coming in and I got my credit straight and applied for and got a credit card with a $20K limit that I used until I got a job and back on my feet and paid the bill off. I actually had racked up a debt of almost $15K before finding a job then I was able to pay that debt off in a little over 7 months. You have to have a plan and strategize when you're struggling. You can't just have a woe is me attitude and use that struggle as an excuse for why you've jammed yourself up. And now counting on others to bail you out. There were sooooooo many other options he could have taken here that would have been much cheaper.

We are all in our 40’s and 50’s now and we have not had any of these men issues. most of the time these women didn’t have anyone to tell them that doing these type of things for men was going to bankrupt them and leave them in the condition that many single women are in today. In hindsight, we cringe at the thought of leaving our children with our boyfriends and I get that as a third party looking at her, I would be quick to judge her on it. However, I also remember these years and folks were 'gaslighting' the heck out of mothers especially African-American mothers for not trusting our potential male partners. They were really condemning mothers and women for speaking out on NOT trusting our men to provide heathly care for our children. It was only in the past few years that sexual molestation was showing up every other day in news media and headlines that we learned this stuff. Now today leaving our little ones with new boyfriends is almost unheard of--in fact, it's ridiculous to leave your children with any man that is not their biological father. (Even their biological father sometimes proves themselves to be untrustworthy.) Having said that, these old shows only prove that there has been a major shift in our culture to where many of the men that look like us have become the predators of our own homes.
