      @@GeronimoBiggles stunning guitar 🎸 wonderfully playable and the piezo is just about the best thing on any guitar ever. An absolutely incredible guitar, I love it. One thing though - the piezo needs an acoustic amp of its own to bring it to life - thoroughly recommend doing that, it’s on another level then.

    Nice to hear the comparisons honestly. Clean tones one can definitely hear defined differences between the 2 guitars. When distorted I found it a bit harder to distinguish the rhythms. But then you played a variety of leads which again could distinguish between the 2 tones. For me personally I have always found the natural tone of the JP15 more appealing to my ear. There's something about the Majesty that doesn't ring as true a tone for my ear anyhow. Can't deny though, EBMM are impeccable craftsmanship for all of their guitars.

    great playing and great demo! Thank you! well... the problem is, it's really hard to choose from these two as I hear a bit fuller tone from the Majesty in the video and I really prefer that sound a bit more, but I like the stable roasted maple neck and overall look of the JP15, and also I heard there might be some glithch from the Majesty now and then, so it's really hard to choose now XD

    My feeling from the video : Distorted sound of JP15 sounds more bottom, well balanced sounding suitable for rhythm, while Majesty Kinetic Blue sounds more focused and bite, more suitable for leads? Do you have similar feeling when you play?

    • @artificialinsolence3182
      @artificialinsolence3182  5 лет назад +3

      Yeah, I've made similar observations. The 15 "screams" a little more, has more high overtones, while the Majesty sounds a bit more grounded, warm and earthy.

      After having Kinetic Blue for few months (I wait for delivery for one full year lol), I come back here to listen your comparison again...
      During playing I found the output of Dreamcatcher is smaller than I expected. Also now I realize what you meant Majesty is bit warm and earthy. The tone of Rainmaker for soloing is awesome and versatile even though it maybe not so “wild”.
      Haven’t had any chance to play a JP15 yet, maybe one day will get one...
      Thanks and stay safe.

    but this video is very well done,,,i wish i could play one before i buy it so i can see if the 17'' radius is to flat for me,,,,,imo the majesty has a much tighter sound than the jp 15,,it sounds wonderful,,,and im also glad you played dream theater songs for this demo also well done..

    Hey man, I'm thinking about buying a 2019 or a Monarchy. What do you think about it? Is there a huge gap between them? How do pickups compare?
    Awesome tones and playing man!

    • @artificialinsolence3182
      @artificialinsolence3182  4 года назад

      No, there's not a huge gap between them. I actually have the Monarchy Majesty as well and the only difference is a satin finish on the neck (instead of glossy) and Sonic Ecstasy pickups. These pickups sound a little darker compared to the DC/RM in the 2019 Majesty and to my ears a little fuller when going to deeper tunings. But really, the tonal differences are marginal, you can't go wrong with either of them. In the end, it's up to you whether you prefer a glossy (2019) or satin (Monarchy) neck.

    • @incitatus634
      @incitatus634 4 года назад

      @@artificialinsolence3182 Thank you! I tried once a Monarchy 7 and I was impressed by the pickups, the tone was so liquid, smooth and tight that I got surprised by them. Perhaps could you do (or write) a comparison between the pickups? I'm curious since they have been there only for one year or so, completely unnoticed.

    Great Review. I have the JP 15 and the Majesty Monarchy (which have the Sonic Ecstasy). I love both and can appreciate the differences between the two. Note to those reading this: I also use the split coil setting in my set list with band. I think it sounds snappy and percussive. Overall, you can't go wrong with either, except for some slightly greater upper fret playability with the Majesty. That floating bridge is magical, so damn good. I'm, at best, a very casual DT fan, but I have a lot of respect for Petrucci and these guitars can handle their own in other genres. My band, Lion-Hearted, plays Brutal Funk, kind of like Funk Metal.

    • @artificialinsolence3182
      @artificialinsolence3182  4 года назад

      Heh. Brutal Funk? Sounds rad, man. And yes, JPs guitars are suited for many different kinds of styles due to their tonal capabilites. Thanks for watching!

    They're both nice. To me the JP15 has a nice acoustic sound and heavy thick distortion. The Majesty has a more modern sound in both the acoustic and distortion. It's hard to describe.. like a more metallic sound.. but they both sound nice and look nice. I would probably buy both if I had the money but if I had to choose one (it's a hard choice)...I would buy the Majesty. But then again...six string or seven string?..another choice to make!! Lol

    Honestly the thing it comes down to for me is ease of play. Which out of the 2 is the easiest to play in your opinion?

    • @artificialinsolence3182
      @artificialinsolence3182  4 года назад +2

      Hey Max, thanks for asking! I'd say it depends on your situation. If you're playing at home or in a studio, both are equally easy to play. However, if you're also in live situations, you may wanna go with the JP15. The Majesty's neck tends to get sticky with sweat when played over some time, whereas the 15's roasted maple neck stays buttery smooth. I mean, you could wipe down the Majesty's neck in a live situation also, but who has the time to keep doing that on stage?
      So, in my opinion, it all comes down to the neck and in that category, the JP15 has the advantage over the Maj.

    hi! thanks for upload this amazing vid.this is the best competition I had check ever.I have the first series JP6(EBMM customed PU)and 2018 majesty.In my situation ,my point of view is almost same your observation.JP6 is bright and clear.majesty has warm and dark tone.clean tone and rhythm backing at metal, JP6 is better.but,lead tone (with delay) majesty is better.ofcourse you know both of them are awsome.majesty is very smoth.when I vend 1st or 2nd string at 12-24 flet position,majesty screams more than JP6.but it is too fat to make beautiful clean tone.I feel code notes sticks at arpeggios.your Jp15 has a maple neck, this difference is more remarkble,I think.JP6 has an elemental of fender, majesty has an elemental of Gibson.

      If you mean the neck pickups, it's the Rainmaker in the Majesty. And yes, according to the DiMarzio website, the Rainmaker has an output value of 275, while the Illuminator has 295. So basically, the Illuminator hits the preamp harder and thus, generates more gain.
