Thank you for this insightful video! I’m a 40 year old masters runner and will be aiming for my first sub 1:15:00 at the Naples FL Half in January. One of your sub 1:20:00 videos helped prepare me to run my first sub 1:20:00 a couple years ago. I ran a 1:15:45 at the Akron Half in September (hilly course) and a 2:37:10 at the Indy Monumental Marathon in October, so I think sub 1:15:00 is now within reach. Keep the great videos coming! Very helpful 🙏
Wishing you the very best of luck in January Matt. Congratulations on dropping that 1:15:45 and 2:37 marathon. Two VERY tough and competitive times. Keep up the superior training and racing. Look forward to hearing about the new PRs in 2024. Thanks for your support of RDA
Thanks again for your helpful videos! Just wanted to follow up and let you know I ended up running a 1:15:01 (gun time) at the Naples Half last weekend and placed 2nd in the Masters category.
Congrats on an already very competitive 1:21. You will get there and run well under 1:16 in 2024. THAT is for sure. If you can run 1:21, sub 16 is definitely in your capability. Keep up the outstanding training and racing. Appreciate your support of RDA
Glad it was helpful! Keep up the great work out there and good luck in your sub 1:15 pursuit. Your 1:16:30 proves you can do it. 2024 is going to be an awesome year for you.
Keep em coming coach! Im sitting here trying to decide what 24 week plan to go for. My pr is 3:36 for the marathon and in 2 weeks I will be 24 weeks away from my next marathon. Putting in my 5k time for example in the vdot calculator it says I should be able to hit equivalent of 3:07 marathon (5k pb of 19.36). Is the leap to aggressive from 3:36 to 3:10 or you reckon I should go for it? if not, what time you think I should aim for? Best wishes from sweden!
Will do and thanks for your support Emil. Keep up the great work. You have some superior run times you have already achieved and will be getting some new PRs in 2024 for sure. I think aiming for 3:05 is a solid goal and you may break 3. Continue to focus on running between 6:52-7:00 mile pace in training, get that pace to feel easier with your speed and hill workouts. You are on your way!
Great video. I’m 40 y.o. and I’ve recently run 1.17.54 but got sick 5 days prior the race. I know I could have run 1.16.20-40. Thinking about breaking 1.15.00 in Valencia this fall. Thanks
Thanks so much for your support lean. Greatly appreciate. For me, it was the 400m. I ran 53.4 in high school and never again ran it in college although I wish I would have. I don't think I would have gotten much better than around 51 high or 52 mid though but I always though the 400 was extremely painful. It is so anaerobic and over so quick but it is that last 100m, for me, that was the most difficult aspect of the race. I also tried the 3000m steeplechase ONCE and that was enough for me lol. Thanks again for the gift and appreciate your support of this channel.

Great video and very helpful! Was on for a 1.16 in October but had never ran further than 15 miles in training and simply blew up, finishing in 1.21☹️

@@rundreamachieve you are insane! Thanks, will attack the 3.05 or the 3.10 (fairly hilly course) you rock!
💪💪💪💪💪💪 watch your pacing! negative split on a course like that and hydrate well. You can get it!

What was your longest long run
Great🇵🇰💯💕
What would you say is the toughest distance (pain wise) to race and train for ?
