    1:10 "today's gonna be a short video... maybe under 10 minutes"
    Me: looks @ 31:16 video time. *little chuckle* kicks feet back with a coffee and presses play for a good time.
    Thank you Steve. Short videos are a sin for this channel.

    As much as I love cobbler/shoe-shining videos, its Steve's personality and commentary that keeps me subbed. Super down to earth, humorous and quite friendly

    Honestly, I like the longer videos. I just sit and chill for like 45 minutes.

    • @Felimes
      @Felimes 5 лет назад +12

      Yeah, typical ASMR is really really grating in my opinion. Give me hammering all day (Maybe not midnight).

    • @sebastianflynn1746
      @sebastianflynn1746 5 лет назад +4

      @xsharkilspotx because even a moment spent to ASMR instead of Steve's commentary is a waist of gd RUclips

    • @Felimes
      @Felimes 5 лет назад +1

      @xsharkilspotx I don't want to be overly negative here, but because I find the peaking microphones and really invasive sounds of most of the overtuned ASMR focused stuff very irritating and hard to stand. It makes it hard to watch for the interesting insight and honest craftsmanship when it feels like my ears are being assaulted.

    • @1lupus
      @1lupus 5 лет назад

      @xsharkilspotx Because it is distracting and annoying.

Ah, well - some people don't seem to be happy unless they're grousing about something. You're doing great, sir! And THANKS for showing us a centuries-old tradition of leatherworking and shoe repair.

    I subscribed after watching the first of your videos. I think it's only polite. You are going to the time & trouble of making these videos, the least we can do is support you for doing so.
    I do all sorts of crafts, eg sewing, knitting, cake decorating and many more. I won't let anything go out until I'm totally happy with it. My husband says I'm obsessive, but I'm not, I'm just proud of what I do and want it to be the best.
    Like you say, it's just aesthetics, but it makes the difference between a good job and a superb one. I love the red by the way

    Love those shoes. Great score! I have an old pair of chukkas made by Weinbrenner. I got them when I worked in Spain. I thought I was getting some kick ass "European" shoes. Years later I looked up the logo and "Weinbrenner" and realized thery were American. Great shoes though. Storm welted, the uppers are used as the welt. Old style square toe that was popular in the mid 90's!

    Been subscribed since the beginning. However, for those of us who enjoy watching trades being done will usually subscribe. The others who have a problem they're trying to fix on the fly, come across these types of channels and view it only for the particular shoe/issue they have.. Once they get what they need they won't come back usually. I would recommend doing some more giveaways and maybe some unique or custom builds of your own from scratch. Would definitely raise the roof on the channel while also providing some new and different content. As always, great job brother! And don't ever change keep doing you! God bless.

    You are a craftsman's, craftsman. All of your completed projects cross the line from, a job well done, into art.
    May I ask what your opinion is, on the quality of WESCO boots? Particularly the custom build models. I have a prosthetic and custom is my best option. I personally think WESCO makes the most sturdy footwear, not to disrespect other high end boot makers. All have exceptional quality, it's just my opinion. I really like the channel.

    I always wonder: for just calf leather shoes, is Alden (even very slight) better than AE because for the same style, it is always more expensive. I know price is not everything, but in this very capitalistic country, when something is more expensive yet survive for this long period of time I believe there must be a reason. Very curious; when u repair both Alden and AE, can you find anything better on Alden shoes over AE?

    Steve on that raised lettering try a Mack #20 sword striping brush, use the tip only and it should cut your time and hassle in half, I use it on raised letters all the time (not shoes). Love the Chukka Boot, that's my classic.

    Stumbled upon your channel yesterday and watched an hour long shoe repair... can't look away! I wear dress shoes (slip on) daily for work... Is there a reasonably priced show that you would recommend that lasts?? I have to get a new pair every 4 months or so!
