It's funny - your channel introduced me to Magnanni and actually make me interested in owning them as I like their designs. Now that I know they sent you a C&D, I'll never buy a pair of Magnanni's ever. Keep up the awesome work Steve.

The way the manufacturer puts the piece in to give it a fiddle waist shows they know what people look for in a quality shoe, it's just a shame they hide a pile of crap under the sole instead of using quality materials.
I'll definitely steer clear of Magnalli, if I'm paying a premium I would like a premium product, having nice quality leather uppers and a fiddle waist hides the paper footbed and paper welt. At the least I'd have expected a leather welt, they're not cheap and leather welt isn't super expensive nor a large amount of material. You're a real eye opener! Of everything I've seen you or anyone else repair I think the John Lobb shoes and boots have had the best constructed footwear. The heel rand is always tight to the heel, big wooden shanks that don't seem to break, even if they may need regluing once apart. Beautiful stitching and high quality materials all the way through. That's what separates a shoe under a grand from one over a grand, but to be honest you do get significantly better value for money when they can be resoled that many more times.
You've opened my eyes to the difference between quality footwear and brands charging for quality footwear but not delivering on a high enough level. As goes for the detailing of the leatherwork on the sole, I have several pair where part of the pattern has become worn, but the places where it's not worn the pattern is still there and makes the sole look more highly crafted, as it is

You've arrived when you have a 'cease and desist'. I am the proud owner of two... well done. Always shows how guilty they feel about a decline in standards. I note I have already made this observation....

Regarding patterning on the soles, those complaining about you doing it are clearly not craftsmen in any capacity. You do you Steve, looks great to me.

I don´t know what it is... I know how this movie ends. It´s always a perfectly handcrafted repaired pair of shoes. But watching the process, having the "lets continue" and "hammer time" served at the perfect moment just makes my day. Heck, I even watch replays....
    Thanks!

I don't want to sling too much shit cause I'm not a cobbler and know nothing about shoe repair, but it looks like whoever got their hands on those shoes before you gave them the ol' payless special. Great work, it's always great to watch someone who is knowledgeable and passionate with their trade, and now I'm binge watching your videos

Hammer time must never stop. And let’s continue is your catch phrase. Maybe and only a suggestion do a complete shop tour showing all the equipment tools and materials like glues dyes etc without giving away all your secrets and permanently link to every video so that if people are curious as to what you are using they won’t need to ask. Thusly freeing you up to do more of what we are coming here to watch. You and your great work.
