Ephesians 4:32
In this video, we completely upgrade this customers pair of Peter Millar loafers. After a couple of standard resoles, this pair got a major overhaul! We took this pair down to the bare insole, added a fiddle waist, new welts, new JR sole leather and heels, new leather heel blocks, added Triumph toe plates, stained the soles and finished off the top lifts with decorative nails. Now THAT is what we call a total refurbishment!

You know we always strive to give you our honest opinions on shoes, products, etc. on this channel, so when we accidentally give incorrect info, we definitely try to correct it. We’re very familiar with shell cordovan, and Peter Millar did an excellent job replicating the feel of shell with these shoes. We were mistaken and just wanted to correct the info given. These were NOT shell cordovan. Not that it matters in any way to what we did to these shoes or the video, but we still wanted to correct the info we gave. A shoutout to some of our viewers who mentioned this and also brought up the possibility of it being “techno horse leather”, which very much replicates shell cordovan. Interesting. 👍
Would you have used a different type of polish than the cordovan polish or does it not really matter?
Oh wow, thank you for the update! I was already wondering about the creasing pattern which would have been very untypical for SC. I did not catch the comments correcting you and I have to say the sheen and overall look really looks like it could be shell.
I'm am very interested in what you are using to Ruff up your leather ? Could you give a little more info?
@@alldayseveryday3138 It does matter. There is a "cordovan cream" from Saphir which works well (very sparingly once every couple months). And for hard wax, only the hardest low in solvent--again a Saphir product, the mirror gloss polish.
So that customer overpaid to get a pair of normal calf skin shoes repaired. He could’ve just gotten a new pair.
He paid $470 for a pair of shoes that now look like they're worth 1200. It's more than I could afford, but I'd say he still got great value for money.
This may be the most artistically accentuated set of soles that I have seen. This is very fine work.
Thank you very much!
You took the exact words right out of my mouth.
Indeed!!
Almost a shame to walk on those soles. Beautiful piece of art, better than when they were new.
You made those shoes so handsome on the bottom, it's almost a shame to wear them outside.
The craftsmanship that’s gone into these is second to none. The uppers are not to my taste but the soles are something else. Fantastic work gents.
I was about to comment the same thing. Awesome work on the soles, puts the uppers to shame.
The previous cobbler was skittish about removing the stitching, we're not.
Go bold or go home. That's a real advantage of knowing what you are doing.
Good job guys. I bet the client was pleased.
Thank you very much! We hope so. 🤞
Track that last cobbler down, and make him cry.
Perhaps the last cobbler hadn't realised his customer was willing to fork out 450 bucks.
Perfection gentlemen! Better than new! Appreciate how you're getting sponsorships now, and one of the only channels I'm not mad about accepting them. You deserve them for the stellar job & videos you put up.
Thank you very much! We’ll try to keep, whichever sponsorships come our way, entertaining, as short as possible, and hopefully informative and helpful.
Me as well. It’s so great that they’re getting sponsors. I also watch the whole commercial because I know it helps them. I only do this for two other channels. Well done guys!!!
I believe he recieved better shoes back from you than he would have by buying new. Excellent video as usual. Thank you for sharing your talent and passion.
What I love about the videos where you've specifically refurbished high - end loafers is the way that you really show how much work goes into the rebuild : we can see Heath constructing the waist by hand, rather than using pre- fabricated parts... I think that that's the kind of attention to detail that sets you guys apart... I'm not familiar with the shoe brand, but seeing these makes me want a pair pronto!
Both of you are masters of the craft, gents!
Thank you sir! We really do appreciate that.
Trenton and Heath share their wonderful souls repairing multiple soles for the public; exquisite work gentlemen. May you each keep up your labor of love.
I like it! Thank you very much.
i find these videos very soothing. i worked in shoe shop for 24 1/2 years in the sloe deptment so watching you fix soles and restoring soles is very famalier and enjoy very much
The shoes were in excellent shape. Really liked the end results. Hope they serve him a long time. Thanks for the Bible verse today. Have a great weekend gentlemen.
Thank you very much! Glad you liked it.
Fantastic. I'm not a big fan of loafers in general, but I love the flair and attention to detail here. Costly? Yes, but that kind of renovation is definitely worth it.
Thank you!
This has been my favorite new channel for the past few months. As someone who works on their feet for 60 odd hours a week, I can really appreciate the work you guys put into these shoes. It's also changed my opinion on what you should expect out of the shoes, and the companies, you put on your feet.
Thanks for watching! Glad you’re enjoying them.
Guys, it's almost therapeutic watching you work. I'm grateful that what you do still exists today, in a world set on replacing rather than repairing.
Would you guys or have you guys ever done a video just on your equipment? I've always been curious as to the age, history and just how specific everything is.
They are usually really old, I’ve been a cobbler all my life, I’m still using the same landis K stitcher my father used, it was made in 1946 cast iron.
It’s heavy, we always kid around that if we are ever robbed that machine would still be there!
@@jesussaves4623 I see that they don't use grooving machine
You guys, and Bedo's LeatherWorks LLC is all I need from RUclips for shoe repair videos. This is by far your best work on RUclips. I'd be to afraid to wear them
Thank you so much!
Always impressed with the cutting of the channel for the blind stitch. Such precision.
And nice to finally see a pair of shoes that has been cleaned before sending it to the guys. :)
Haha... thank you!
I wonder how many soles I'd need to ruin (and fingers I'd need to bloody) before I got the hang of making such a precise cut. It looks like it's less than a millimeter from the bottom of the sole.
I find it absolutely amazing how you work the knife on different kinds of leathers, seperating layers and cutting corners always in a smooth motion... looks like it takes a good amount of force and control and therefor lots of experience. Thats real craftsmanship.
You guys are the most elegant shoe makers that I have ever seen. I have never seen before people dressed like you to do a job like this. Regards from Mexico 🇲🇽
Wow! The more I watch the more I am amazed at the beauty and variety of shoes! Along with that the expertise, craftsmanship and artistry of you shoe makers! It is truly an art form.
I’ve been enthusiastically watching you all since the beginning of this Pandemic 😷, my God this was the Straw that broke the 🐫’s back! Wow 😯 wow 😳 had to watch this video almost 3 times!!! Definitely will give you a thumb’s up! Never have seen more honest cobbler’s and sincerity that you all present, This video illustration is the epitome of our Southern work ethic, and Yes as a Texan I’ve got to say this👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Job superbly done !!!
What a rebuild, you guys knocked it out of the park! They look 200% better than before.
Customer: I need to have my shoes refurbished.
T&H: What do you want done to them?
Customer: I want more cowbell.
T&H: Say no more.
😁
savage.
Guess what? I have a pair of run down shoes, and the only perscription is more cowbell!
@@hanna.ciszewska Ring them bells!!🔔✨🔔✨🔔
You can tell they both love what they do just by the amount of attention to detail they put into every inch of the shoes they work on. I have to respect this line of work.
After watching this channel I've become somewhat of a novice cobblyist? Cobbler/hobbyist. Hunting for the shoes at yard sales, thrift stores, etc... is like going on a treasure hunt and the result of the finished product is very rewarding. Thanks for the inspiration guys!
This is a lost SKILLSET to have, and it takes passion, love, and deep sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when working on each pair, I just found your channel and I am in complete LOVE, with your work 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😍
i have watched other cobblers and you guys give this specific look that i really enjoy. It looks imperfect but perfect.
really amazed with the final product. the work that did you did with the soles is excellent. love the colour and personal touches. made me feel like i want people to see the soles instead of the upper.
and ughhh the upper. i love it. very wise decision to use two different colours of shoe cream. really bring out how fine the leather ages.
i have nothing but the highest respect for what you guys do. i dont live in the States one day if I do, you will be my go-to guys for shoe repairing.
hope both of you can keep doing this!
I love watching you guys work. The sheer skill and precision in your work is so satisfying to watch.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate you watching.
That was the most beautiful shoe tree I've ever seen! I love watching your skill and integrity in action
Wow, I do so enjoy the before and after. You guys are artists!
What I specifically loved about this video (apart from I always loved the work you do) is that in this you see something, discuss it a bit, not disrespecting those that have worked on the shoes before. You form a hypothesis on why this might happened, and see if you can prove it in some way. So it is good to hear somebody go "this isn't proper" without yelling...
The craftsmanship, skill and talent you guys possess floors me on every video. Whether I like the shoes or not, the care and knowledge of your cobbling is a treat.
I like to see old professions continue. Thanks guys. 👍🏻
Very well said. I could not agree more. We should all do what we can to support true craftsmen.
I haven't known many cars that were worth more than $450! But it's always a pleasure to watch you guys.
Great job on those shoes!!! My grandfather worked for Stanley Tools, New Britain, Connecticut. When he passed, my grandmother gave me the moulded steel shoe horn of different sizes. He was the old school Italian who used work on his shoes and stiched them up by hand. Never a boring moment when I was a kid.
Great video Gents very cool to see you guys go all out and have some extra fun. 😄
Just great watching craftsmen at work, ty for sharing
Lately I've been considering Tassle Loafers more and more after years of hating them and this video helped! What a gorgeous pair of shoes, and awesome sole
Love y'all's videos!. You guys remind me of the property brothers of shoes. I always tell my wife I am watching the Sole Brothers
Haha...that’s got a good ring to it! 😉 Thanks for watching.
@@TrentonHeath y'all keep posting, and I will keep watching
The best workmanship. Awesome and entertaining show.
The soles are incredible! That red is striking!
Looks great guys! Impressive work. Didn't even know PM made shoes. You punched them up proper! Great sole work! Look forward to your next post!
Very impressive work...fine craftmanship, gentleman. I really enjoyed watching this great video. I am sure your customer will be very pleased with this well done job, & happy with their shoes.😊
Beautiful work as always! I have nothing to add to the conversation I just love watching you guys do your work.
I would never think as expensive such level of craftmanship.
I never thougjt id find myself watching a load of old cobblers and find it so interesting
Really enjoyed this. What a great outcome. Handsome shoes right there.
Beautiful work! I enjoy excellence, no matter what the endeavor and that's what drew me here. I enjoyed watching you take pride in your craft!
Excellent job, you guys truly are masters of your craft 👍👍👍👍
Beautiful! Still marvelling at the AE resole you guys did for me last spring...pure artistry! What timing, I've just recently been convinced I need to "up" my belt game. Checking Anson site now!
Very therapeutic watching this renovation.......nice job.
Love the pride you put into the shoe wear. Excellent.
You two guys are by far still the best shoe repairs's out there no question 😁😁🤘🤘
This is my favorite video. I love the feature upgrades on these shoes.
Pure magic and professionalism to ‘boot’!!☘️
So therapeutic, love watching your repair vids!
Ok. On board. I like the right amount of chat with majority of it just…good ole….work. Gotta love the finale outcome.
Man these came out super classy! Really enjoyed the video. Something about the craft you do i find very therapeutic.
This is my FAVORITE VIDEO of them all
Wow those look amazing! Doubtless well beyond the quality of the shoes when they left the factory. Very impressive.
Thanks for the tip! I got right on and ordered 3 belts and 2 buckles. Smoking great deal!
This is pure art. What a good looking pair of shoes!!
they look really good, what amazing craftsman , lovely!
Man i love watching you guys work. Your confidence in your craftsmanship is very inspiring. I watch all of your videos no matter what the shoe. Thank you for high quality content👍
Thank you! We really appreciate that.
It's always a pleasure watching true craftsman at work.
Thank you very much!
Amazing work once again! Glad to see you all are monetizing things. Your success is well deserved! Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate you watching.
What always amazes me with high quality items that can be re furbished to this level- I've never seen anything of this level of quality to even purchase. It's of such high level workmanship and these gentlemen really do fine work. I sure enjoy watching this channel and I am looking for some shoes to send you to be fixed. :)
Your pride in workmanship and craftsmanship shine through. Folks who are pros and who know what they are doing make it look easy. Kind of like watching a major league hitter send a fastball over the left field fence, looks easy until you try it.
what a gorgeous final look. Well done gents!
These look incredible yall. Amazing job !!!👍👍
Basically this gentleman got a “new” pair of custom shoes!! Wonderful art work...because there is no doubt this is a true art form.
This has always been an interest of mine, mostly just for a hobby. Looks like it could be a lot of fun!
Those shoes look AMAZING. I have four pair of shell cordovans, one of which I've had since 1987 (NOT my oldest pair of shoes, lol!) I now have some ideas for when it comes time to have them "serviced." GREAT work as always, guys, great video too!
You two do such masterful work on shoes it is inspiring. Love your videos; love your attitude; love your work.
Well worth the $470 IF more for this top notch quality rebuild and attention to quality. Keep this up fellas, beautiful job.
Wow. In today’s market unheard off! Fantastic workmanship
Amazing! Pride in your craft!
Another outstanding video. Took a good pair of shoes and made them back into a great pair of shoes. Worth the effort...
Been waiting for a video. It is so relaxing to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Let me just say you guys are awesome at your trade. I am not really a shoe guy but I am enthralled at your work. I watch every video and I am always impressed. Keep it up.
Thank you very much! We really appreciate you watching.
Holy moley! Man, that was a lot of work you guys did on these beautiful shoes! They came out looking AMAZING. I love the fudging on the bottom. It's the little details that really make a pair of shoes special. I always get a kick out of how clean the shop is and how well dressed you guys are compared to the cobbler shops I frequent. Great job as always gentlemen.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate you watching.
Those shoes should be put in a museum now : )
Awesomely done and craftsmanship is excellent 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Just shined my new saint laurent wyatts I picked up for my birthday today while watching your video! Keep up the great work!
That's one classy ass job fellas. Great work!
I collect vintage, and modern high end luxury watches. I have about 50 shell cordovan straps for them that I swap back in forth. It's my favorite type of leather. Including the. Horween and chromexel. Some of them are going on 15 years old and still look and most importantly feel fantastic. Love a nice shell. Very nice work you put into these. These will most likely outlive their owner.
Not only do I love the content these guys produce, but I LOVE when channels have paid promotions that are NOT the products they review, discuss, etc. Brands outside of the content providers industry that want to target the demos of the viewers are doing it right!
Incidentally I succumbed to an IG ad for a three pack of Anson belts and love them. I have ZERO affiliation with this channel or that company. Keep producing great content gents.... and do me a favor, add some arch support to your next flip flops design. I will buy all the styles if you do.
I'm so glad for RUclips and artisans like you all. 10 years ago, I would have seen a guy in a pair of shoes like this and thought "Dusty old man". Now I know better!
Beautiful Job, loved the fiddle back waist.
Gentlemen, what a pleasure it is to sit here and watch you work. What a great success story. My wife and I love your attention to detail and would love to meet you one day. Congratulations on your business and keep up the classy work. We wish you all the best from Texas.
Thank you both so much! We really appreciate y’all watching.
Great video! Those are beautiful shoes and you guys fixed them up nice and made them even better with the upgrades you installed. The customer is always right, of course, but I found it curious that time was taken to do a blind stitch and yet borders that look almost like stitches were debossed into the leather soul. No matter, they turned out great!!
Beautiful work!
One of top 10 satisfying channels
Another work of art! Beautiful job!
Had me excited for a second there, Wait, what, I can vote more than once?? Believe me if I could, I would. Especially when I find an old RUclips of yours, and I want to give it a thumbs up but can't because I did it way back originally. In any event, another great job guys. Thanks!
Beautiful work fellas
My great great grandfather was a cobbler in Michigan and Wisconsin, his work was on boots for lumberjacks when they cut down the Saginaw forests.
I’ve never seen shell micro-crease like that on the vamp. Interesting.
Reminds me of a calf leather called techno horse that the Italians make to resemble shell. The plastic coating creases like calf.
That's because these definitely aren't made of shell.
With that being said, I have seen microcreasing from the finishing on Japanese shell from Shinki and Italian shell from Maryam.
Classy! Worth every penny. Another great job, thanks! 🤙
Thank you!
Any idea who made these for Peter Miller?
