This has a lot of promise. I do like those visuals and the gameplay seems to be pretty solid. While I'm not usually someone who plays fighting games (except Smash and Rivals of Aether), I think I might have to keep an eye on this and give it a shot sometime. Thanks for the review.

You're welcome. It's $20 for the base game and $40 for the Deluxe edition that includes the season pass that adds I believe 4 more characters. There are different difficulty levels and a good training mode.

I should admit that when I got the game in a Humble Bundle I had no desire to play it. This review forced me to finally give it a go and I'm glad I did. I love this game's mechanics.
This is a nice wholesome way to fight with your neighbors.

I like this, it reminds me of Capcom versus Marvel, or some other combat fighting game. It's a nice change of pace, when it's not humans or humanoid creatures kicking each other's butts.
I hope they add an actual wolf character to the game

It still has its issues on console port. It crashes for just playing offline an online like fight hud hp bar breaking offline/online. Mane 6 still has a long way to go on console ports like PS5 ect which have similar issues with crashing.
Can you customize your avatar offline for solo play? Any skins etc for singleplayer available? Not just online.
In the actual fights there is no customization but there are alternate colors to pick from for each character. Like Street Fighter you get different colors depending on what button you press to choose the character.
If you mean story mode then yes, you have various items that can be found to change your wardrobe but nowhere near the amount that is available in the online mode.
On Reddit someone said theres like 25 ppl online so prob not going to buy it sadly. Online pvp is a must and fighting games just drop the ball with having players online. I bought SamSho and after a few days online scene died smh and the game was dope

This game has been pretty much dead a month after being released on pc. It's sad it barely has a playerbase anymore on pc, only maxing out at 16 to 25 players daily. Don't know about the player base on console (beside word of mouth aka 3 or 7 at most) but there's still not much talk about this game, youtube viewership is in the water and stream are practically inexistent, no ones really caring. They added crossplay iirc but as I see on pc it didn't anything. So console must no have any active or not much. This game was made in the same system as skullgirls. So this game is living in it's shadow. It doesn't improve on what skullgirl is (and skullgirls has a dying playerbase as it is only making money and keeping it's playerbase alive through it mobile game counterpart). This them fightin herds is skullgirl but without the tag team. Colorful characters and cuteness can only get you so far. Hopefully they add modes in future. Give people a reason to play it, instead of them adding new characters which only gives a one day burst in online players. This game should have focus more on the casual players first then the tournament seen. As it's not an well known title nor does the team have anything else established under there belt.
Fun Fact: No beginner fighting game player have been able to even beat the story mode as it has a learning curve that not many will get use to or be able to do before giving up. It's called the short jump or hop, when playing Arizona. That's the very beginning of the story mode, the training mode is very good for beginners but it was not plan for them in mind. Some just want to shut off there brain and just play. Not being able to separate newbie from experts on released really killed this game for beginners as they were getting bullied online. I don't know if they can still even save this game but I have to wait and see. I was one of the backers for this game on indiegogo.
