Everyone has their favorite oil. I love using Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage Full Synthetic in my 300k mile 02' Blazer ZR2 4.3 Vortec. A clean oil that just makes mine run great in extremely hot weather here in SE Texas. Plus I'm still getting 16mpg, that's the sticker mpg in 2002
They all have minimum requirements they have to meet,so unless you're buying some cheap off brand oil just use a name brand with a good quantity filter and change the oil when your manufacturer recommends changing.

Flushing out oil in your engine has benefits and a problem. The problem is that if you run your engine in idle too long, the flush solution can clean too much. Cleaning old gaskets and rubber seals, causing unwanted leaks that you didn't have before. You have a clean engine with less sludge, but in reality you have new oil leaks later on. Not good.
Personally I’m a fan of amsoil and redline. I actually use the pennzoil ultra platinum to ‘flush’ my oil. When I change it. To help get that last 10-15% or more out of the car. But ultimately …. Clean oil > dirty oil regardless of brand or type.
Im going with pennzoil ultra platinum. It’s recomended on a dodge hellcat and k going to out it in my 19 corvette that require mobile 1 supercar oil but after seeing the oil analysis it’s nothing special and barely even meets the 40 weight rating. After some use it won’t even be a 40w oil
0W-30 really isn’t necessary unless you live where it gets and stays below 10 f. More VI improvers need to be added to get the 0 rating, which increases the oil volatility, increasing oil consumption. I live in the Pacific NW where the weather is mild, so I use 10W-30.
I used Mobil 1 and it burned all the time. I switched to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and the engine runs quieter and I dont burn oil, plus the additives and detergents clean way more
@@nikkosoriano559 I 100% agree. I’ve been using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in my truck since I bought it in 2020 and I’ve had zero oil consumption out of my 5.0L. And, it runs and sounds so much smoother.
Had to add all the time with mobile. Switched to Pennzoil platinum high mileage and it uses nothing till the next oil change. It’s quieter and feels smoother/stronger. What’s that tell you?
Switched from mobil 1 to pennzoil ultra platinum for my new frontier. Truck runs smooth and quieter. The oil also isn't as dark (not sure why) but I'm not putting anything other than pennzoil ultra.
FWIW...you pegged Pennzoil Ultra Platinum at 27 cents @oz. Interestingly, Amazon is currently offering it at about 35 cents @oz....except on the exact same page they offer a 3-pak of 5-qt jugs for 16 cents @oz.....less than 1/2 of their other prices on that same page. I used every oil that people recommend on you tube and I noticed no difference between them gas millage engine smoothness everything stayed the same.all oils I used were name brand and synthetic.just my opinion.
For years I was using mobile 1 in my Chevy 3.6L equinox and I noticed that I had to top off the oil a few times before the next oil change. Where was that oil going? Probably the crankcase ventilation and right over the intake valves to leave its mark. After watching Project Farm I switched to Pennzoil platinum high mileage. The engine is quieter and doesn’t use oil till the next change! What the hell mobile?!! Why did waste money on your junk!
@Joseph Tilotta Its No1 SPONSOR of racing events ..to be real honest. It's good oil. Overpriced. Pennzoil Platinum/ Ultra Platinum as well as Castrol Edge (black bottle) beats it in oil analysis. -Ohio

how do you think this oil would perform in a 214k mile 4.0L I6? (99 XJ)
btw SE TX here too, cheers🎉
whats your oil weight and viscosity

Mobil 1 is a top choice but I would rather go with Castrol Edge, anyway both are the cream of the crop
I run Castro lots highmilage in a 2009 one owner an it runs like new an haven't had to do much to her old Betty black Betty supercrew all leather
Amsoil is the best hands down. Expensive but the best.
ABSOLUTELY! 👍

Calling synthetic blend “full synthetic” is very misleading…

You'd be far better off just doing an engine flush with AMSOIL Engine & Transmission Flush.
What about Total fully synthetic engine oil.
Super Tech full synthetic oil.....keeps my Oldsmobile car (1995) running really good.

Sadly Pennzoil ultra platinum does not come in 0W30.😕 new Turbo charged engines list this as the grade.
