    These days anyone just starting out on keyboards and synths are spoilt ,back in the 80s you had to be rich to get a decent sounding keyboard .This Casio sounds great for the price. People should stop moaning about how it lacks this and that functions etc and just remember how bad keyboards of this price range were back in the day .Nice demo .

      I bought my CT-S 200 mainly as a USB-Midi-Keyboard (which works great) . I also connected it to my Stereo and I have to admit, I really like to use a lot of the internal sounds - a lot of them are good ( I like the organs or sounds like the "old tape recorder") and some are actually awesome. Guessing, it's how you approach the keyboard, if you can accept some cheesy sounds, you can squeeze some beautiful music out of it.
      it's more expensive here in Europe (I paid 169 Euro), but it's worth every cent.

      "Who needs electricity? Back in the 1800s homes didn't even need them!"
      You realize how stupid your argument is? We aren't in the 80s anymore. Standards of quality evolve as time passes. We should expect greater quality of things from the present than from the past.

    • @FIXTREME
      @FIXTREME 4 года назад +1

      In the 80's, the CZ101 was only $400 at Radio Shack. And that keyboard could be used for semi-professional applications. What exactly was the market for beginners keyboards? Other than a used Hammond organ or rolltop piano (which sounded a lot better), the shitty Casiotone and Portatone keyboards of the day... but they did exist, offered the bare basic synth sound that was hip, and were priced similarly (check old Radio Shack catalogs.) So I don't understand the 'spoiled' argument. People weren't expecting the M1 or the Emulator II for a few hundred, synthetic sounds were in. Therefore, they really weren't *THAT* bad.
      Also: The comma goes *BEFORE* a space, not after 🙈

    • @stevewebb7126
      @stevewebb7126 4 года назад +1

      @@FIXTREME I was one of the first to buy an M1 and it was over a 1000 pounds ,a lot of money back then ,as well as today .The choice these days is far superior to the 80s ,you can buy a laptop download free vst plugins and a free daw ,and make pro sounding music ,or buy a Korg Cross workstaion for half the cost of the M1 ,and it is vastly better ,thats just one example .I stick by what i say today it is far easier to make good music than back then .Oh sorry about the bad grammar .

    Thanks for your great reviews. I have the red version of this keyboard (which looks even better than on the photo) and I don't agree with you appreciation of the soundquality. Through the speakers it sounds ok-ish but with headphones most sounds are like metallic. Even my 10 year old casio lk300 sounds 10 times better. However, the big advantage of this keyboard is its form factor. The keys are decent, the weight is very low, it can run off 6 rechargeable AA batteries and is small enough that you can keep it on your lap for a longer time. It is to my knowledge one of the few keyboards that you can use to play (with headphones) piano while sitting on the couch with your family - the keys are almost silent. I use it with the free chordana app which is excellent to practice piano pieces and is completely free. I only wish that casio would bring an upgraded version on the market with Aix soundchip and the other features of the ct x800. Also the grip at the top is very practical. I start missing that on my other keyboards.

    • @gearfacts

      Yep I agree that the physical design is just excellent and more keyboards should be put together this way. As for the sound... It's sad but I kind of have to say "it sounds great" for everything I review, or else I get too much bad feedback and abuse from people who bought the item. It's easier just to be nice about everything :) #gearfacts

    It's still too early, sonyoubare fortunate to get your hands on one. I believe you order them, but don't believe they start shipping until mid October, unless production numbers allow earlier actual release to consumers.
    I am waiting for the CT S300. It's an affordable alternative to get a full size 61 key keyboard with all the decent high quality sounds and feature it has until I get around to buy a Roland Go:Keys, and perfect to go anywhere with it's cheaper price and lighter weight, and portability.
    I would have to get one to listen to all the tones itself, but what you show on this video, most of the sounds are great, especially for this price point, bit the acoustic pianos sould fair, but not the best, and the electric pianos don't sound as great as a real old and new version of the Rhodes or Wulitzer, so I will have to hear it in person myself. You get what you pay for, but still awesome for what it is, and has at the price.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  5 лет назад +1

      I think there's been a slight improvement in sounds over the last CTK models that it replaces. The keys feel great, they're similar to the Go:Keys actually, and a BIG improvement over the older Casios at this price point. It's a shame they don't have the CT-X sound engine, that would have really won me over with this model :) Gearfacts

      @@gearfacts It is, what it is, but great for the price. I know the new Killer Roland Fantom 8 has the top of the line PHA1 keyboard like the RD2000 and FP90, and other top level pianos, but the keyboard for the 61 and 76 key version is supposed to be new and improved over previous synth action keyboards. I wonder how that keyboard feels like.

    Hello I’m from Mexico
    I have some questions about that Casio CTS 200 keyboard, does it has any song recorder to record my performances? In other words I think is a sequencer, I’m thinking to buy one of these keyboards because the great sound engine that they have, the cool and interesting DJ functionality, but I’ll like to know if there is a way to record my performances, store them directly into the keyboard and play them back without any Midi connection, also I’ll like to know if it has autoAccompaniment function in the builting rhythms, intro and ending, or just the drum beat alone. I keep aware for your reply. Thank you.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  4 года назад

      I never did any recording on mine when I had it, and I just checked google and I can't see anything about recording on the CT-S200, so I guess it's not possible. I suggest googling the manual just to make sure, but I don't have much hope...

      @josemanuellastra2488 4 года назад

      Gearfacts Thanks for your reply, I’lol check the manual and I’ll let you know as soon as possible. Anyways, it’s a very good keyboard, it has many fantastic sounds and features, and the most exciting feature for me and the reason that I really want to buy one is because the DJ music making functionality, it’s really complete and sounds really good, and I think the reverb and studio effects makes this keyboard just awesome and great quality, so, it won’t be missing the recording functionality, and even an AutoAccompaniment feature, keyboards without AutoAccompaniment features are just such toy keyboards for learning, and keyboards without a recording functionality having a good sound engine are good, but the recording functionality makes it way much better, anyways, it’s a really great keyboard, not to expensive, for beginners and great quality, much better than the old Casio keyboard that I had before, that by the way it got seriously broken, the keys were playing by themselves in a crazy way, now I have a Yamaha keyboard and the thing is much better, everything is perfect and it has the recording functionality, but if I buy this Casio CTS keyboard I hope my experience would be much better than with my old Casio keyboard, which was not nice at all

    It sounds no different from the CTK-3500 I used to own some years ago. The only good sounds were some synths, the theater organ, and some pads. I absolutely HATED the piano sound but luckily I never did play any piano music. I had good fun passing the theater organ into a Boss DS-2 and then into my practice amp! I sometimes wonder why a budget Casio's sound chips are so much worse than similarly priced models from Yamaha. Back to this new line-up though, the CT-S300 seems like the pick of the series. It has a pitch bend wheel, touch sensitivity, and supports MIDI. Combined with that nice handle, you could quickly switch from the living room (as a standalone below-average instrument) to the studio room (where you can use it to trigger much higher quality MIDI instruments). And it's probably way more durable (AND cheaper) than a budget 61-key MIDI keyboard. Casios and Yamahas NEVER die!

    I get the appeal of the CT series, particularly the old ones as they sound unique. But these modern ones im not so sure... Im not convinced by the sounds either and i get that its cheap but the CTK 3500 is around the same price as the CT-200 and has superior features, More rhythms, More tones, Dance mode, More editing options, Weighs the same, Has a pitch bend wheel, Touch response, Better learning features and the sounds aren't much different. Yes the CT is thinner and has a handle but is all that worth it? I don't know perhaps im missing something....
