Screw the negative comments. This guy made a point that so few videos ever emphasize for new drivers: If you're at a yield sign, do NOT feel like you have to keep moving. Hells no, if there is traffic STOP and drive when you feel COMPLETELY safe to do so. If you're in a bigger city, expect some honks and bs from braindead idiots. Ignore it and do your thing. Stay safe everyone.

If it's a dangerous intersection, I will treat a yield sign as a stop sign and stop before going through even if there's no oncoming traffic. If drivers behind me don't like that, too bad.

I’m in Colorado and the law says: The driver of a vehicle approaching a yield sign, in obedience to such sign, shall slow to a speed reasonable for the existing conditions and, if required for safety to stop, shall stop at a clearly marked stop line, but if none, before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection. So does not have right of way mean to stop if necessary.
@@Kevin-dd3ky exactly, it does not mean stop unless oncoming traffic, but no, if you look over your shoulder while yielding, if it is safe, you do not have to stop.

A few years ago I was hit in the intersection where I had a yield sign I was told that I should’ve stop! The area was clear and as I was in the intersection I was hit in the rear qtr panel and fined as well!

I always been sooo confused when it comes too the yield sign, basically you always go still without stopping unless there’s vehicles coming by you but if it’s clear you keep going ?

Almost had an accident earlier today at the yield sign. I stopped to check incoming traffic which there was plenty of cars passing through. Waited for awhile until is look safe in all angles and continued to drive until i saw another car passing by behind me...I had to go fast but that was my mistake. It’s better to act like a stop sign and just wait till all traffic is gone especially if there one coming in a few seconds later

I can't judge distance well. My dad would say it is safe for me to proceed yet _I_ didn't feel like going and that got me honked from the back. I always hesitate whenever I yield and shit
same, especially at night and i can’t tell which lane the cars are in so i hesitate first and end up getting honked at for stopping for one second lmfao

I'm taking my driver's test tomorrow and I noticed that there are a lot of yield signs in a community that I'll have to go through. The problem is that it seems like the yield signs should be replaced with stop signs because you can't get a good view without coming to a complete stop. What should I do when I come to the yield sign? Should I act as if it were a stop sign or should I roll through it?

haha stupid driver these days think a yield sign means speed up and make ya move or you can hit me. drivers disgust me these days. im always nice on the road let people pull out, lol yield at yield signs, use my dam flashers to change lanes and turn. hell the only thing i dont do is wear my belt but i got a doctors not that say lap belt only no cross belt.and in 30 yrs of driving only got hit once dam kid on a cell phone running a yield sign. came across your video to send to my kid cause she is now learning to drive. thanks for sharing

UpperRobin29 Not really, only if it’s unsafe to proceed, then you treat it like a stop sign, otherwise, you don’t have to stop if you don’t have to & that it’s safe to proceed.

I can tell you must have had an encounter with a Non ~Yielder ?...Like I did yesterday. @$$holes tried the Malachi Crunch as I was in the west driving lane with a Heavy box truck in the passing lane on my left...the car coming west down the ramp cut me off almost caused a wreck and got in front of me with the speed up slow down game...I had to get away from the mob I was about to be surrounded by so I gunned it to get away ...One of the cars I passed began chasing me so I was really freaked out as the Entire Nation is caving in (6/1/2020) I finally had enough of a lead & I was cruising at 70. I later saw a Trooper coming and he roared past me to pull over a truck just ahead of me. I immediately pulled to the left lane (the Law) and then saw the trooper exit his vehicle , run into the driving lane and point at me to pull over. He gave me a ticket .

Bend Em There’s really no right of way on the highway, because there’s no turning, so yield on the highway just means look out for other traffic when you are merging.

Yield sign don't say stop, your supposed to speed up or slow down to blend with traffic!!!!
Never stop on a yield. There is a lot of space for you to move forward with out causing any accidents. When you stop, there is no room behind the other cars ESPECIALLY exiting a freeway.
No need to slow down if there is no traffic or pedestrians. So you are just another person who does not actually know how a Yield sign works.
